Chapter 3: The Army Grows

Twilight Sparkle trotted down the nearly empty streets of Ponyville, her gaze drifting from one shuttered window to the next. Something felt off—no, wrong—but she couldn’t quite put her hoof on it. Spike, perched on her back, squinted at the eerily silent village.

“Why is everypony hiding?” Spike asked, his voice low and uneasy. “It’s like they’re avoiding us.”

Twilight shook her head. “I don’t know, Spike, but we need to find out. Maybe somepony’s just playing a prank, or maybe there's some event we didn’t hear about.”

They wandered through the market square, where stalls sat abandoned, a few tipped over as if their owners had fled in haste. Twilight stopped in the center of the square, her heart beating faster now. “This isn’t just a prank.”

Suddenly, a loud, mechanical whirr filled the air, echoing off the buildings like a warning bell. Twilight turned toward the source of the sound just in time to see a bright flash of light—before everything went dark.

When Twilight awoke, her entire body felt heavy, as if she were trapped in a thick, unyielding shell. She groaned, her limbs sluggish and unfamiliar. As her vision cleared, she saw Spike beside her, eyes wide with panic. Both of them were encased in strange metallic suits, sleek and cold to the touch. Twilight’s heart raced as she looked down at herself. Her once lavender coat was hidden beneath the armor, and on her flank, where her cutie mark had been, there was now a black X—like it had been erased.

"Spike, what... what’s happening?” she gasped, struggling to move.

Spike tried to speak, but all that came out was a garbled, static sound. His little body was also clad in the same metallic suit, his face slowly being covered by a visor that was locking itself into place. Twilight’s panic escalated as she felt something similar happening to her. A helmet closed in around her head, leaving only her eyes exposed as a visor slid down over them, dimming her vision with an eerie red tint.

"No!" she shouted, trying to cast a spell, but her magic fizzled out. The suit was dampening her power. She could feel her thoughts becoming... foggier, less her own, as a strange robotic voice echoed in her mind: You will be upgraded. You will serve the Daleks.

Twilight’s heart pounded, her mind racing for a solution, but it was too late. Both she and Spike were now under the Dalek’s control.

Meanwhile, deep in the Everfree Forest, the Cutie Mark Crusaders—Apple Bloom, Sweetie Belle, and Scootaloo—were sneaking toward a strange metallic structure that had crash-landed in Ponyville recently. Its shiny, alien surface gleamed in the dappled light, casting eerie shadows that only fueled the trio’s excitement.

“Cutie Mark Crusaders Alien Explorers, yay!” they shouted in unison, creeping closer to the ship.

“We’re gonna be the first ponies to ever explore a spaceship!” Scootaloo beamed, fluttering her wings in anticipation. “This is gonna be awesome!”

Apple Bloom pushed open a panel on the ship’s side, revealing a dark corridor filled with glowing lights and strange machines. The Crusaders exchanged nervous but excited looks before stepping inside, their hoofsteps echoing in the vast, empty space.

As they moved deeper into the ship, Sweetie Belle’s ears perked up. “Wait... do you hear that? Somepony’s here!”

They turned a corner and gasped in unison. Standing before them were Rarity and Rainbow Dash, their gazes blank and distant. Sweetie Belle’s heart leaped with relief. “Rarity! Rainbow Dash! We were so worried! Where have you been?”

But Rarity didn’t respond. Her expression remained eerily vacant, her eyes dull behind a visor similar to the one Twilight had. Sweetie Belle’s relief quickly turned to dread as she noticed Rarity’s body was encased in the same sleek, metallic suit that Twilight and Spike wore. Sweetie Belle reached out and touched her sister’s hoof, recoiling as she felt the cold, unfeeling metal beneath.

“Rarity... what happened to you?” Sweetie whispered, tears welling in her eyes.

Scootaloo nudged Rainbow Dash, but the same blank stare greeted her. “Rainbow Dash?” she asked, her voice trembling.

Without warning, both Rarity and Rainbow Dash raised their hooves. A bright flash of energy engulfed the Crusaders, and before they could scream, they were teleported away.

When the trio woke up, their bodies felt wrong—stiff, like they were no longer in control. Sweetie Belle blinked, trying to shake off the dizziness, but when she looked down, her heart sank. She, too, was now wearing a sleek metallic uniform, her once soft white coat hidden beneath cold steel. On her flank, instead of her long-awaited cutie mark, was a black X.

"Wh-What...?" Apple Bloom stammered, looking down at herself. “This... this ain’t right...”

Scootaloo’s wings twitched under the metal armor, her face pale as she realized what had happened. “We... we got our cutie marks...” she muttered, her voice hollow. “But they’re... they’re wrong!”

Sweetie Belle’s eyes filled with tears as she touched her flank, the X mocking her dreams. “No... no! I don’t want this!”

Suddenly, their helmets activated, visors snapping down over their eyes. The Crusaders screamed, trying to rip the helmets off, but they were stuck—moving them even an inch caused searing pain as strands of their manes were pulled taut.

“Get it off! Get it off!” Scootaloo cried, her hooves clawing at the visor. But no matter how hard they tried, the helmets wouldn’t budge.

As the struggle continued, the Crusaders’ movements slowed, their thoughts becoming less frantic, less their own. The suits were taking over, dampening their free will, just as they had done to Twilight and Spike.

Sweetie Belle’s tears fell silently as the robotic voice echoed in her mind: You will serve the Daleks. Obey.

The Crusaders, like so many before them, had been claimed by the Daleks’ invasion.

Pinkie Pie was busy working at Sugarcube Corner, humming her usual happy tune as she arranged freshly baked cupcakes on display. The scent of warm frosting filled the shop as she wiped her hooves on her apron, smiling brightly. Everything seemed perfectly normal, until the cheerful jingle of the front door’s bell rang.

Her ears perked up, and she bounced over to the counter. "Oh! A customer!" she chirped excitedly. "Hiya! Welcome to Sugarcube Corner! What can I get—"

Her voice trailed off as she looked up. There, standing in the doorway, was Twilight Sparkle. Or at least, what looked like Twilight. But something was... off.

Twilight’s lavender coat was replaced by cold, metallic plating, her wings sharp and mechanical, her once gentle eyes glowing an eerie red. Even her horn sparked with blue electricity. But Pinkie, always one to see the bright side, didn’t immediately register the danger.

"Hey, Twilight! Cool costume! What can I getcha? A cupcake? Or maybe a muffin? Ooooh, or some brownies?"

Twilight’s glowing eyes locked onto Pinkie, and her voice, once full of warmth, now sounded robotic and hollow. "I require… more slaves."

Pinkie tilted her head in confusion, one of her ears twitching. "More slaves? Hmm, that's a weird order. Do we even sell those? Lemme check the back—"

Before Pinkie could bounce away, Twilight's voice rose, cold and emotionless. "Exterminate!" she boomed, her voice echoing throughout the bakery. The sudden outburst shook Pinkie to her core, freezing her in place. Her usually boundless energy seemed to drain as a cold shiver ran down her spine. Her eyes went wide in fear.

"Wha... what did you say?" she stammered, her legs wobbling beneath her.

But there was no time for an answer. Before Pinkie could react further, Twilight’s horn flared, and in a flash of bright light, she disappeared from Sugarcube Corner, leaving the familiar warmth of the bakery behind.

When Pinkie Pie finally regained consciousness, she found herself lying on a cold metal surface. She blinked a few times, groggy and disoriented. As her vision cleared, the horror of her situation dawned on her.

Her body was encased in a cold, metallic uniform. Her pink fur and vibrant mane were hidden beneath the heavy armor, and her cutie mark—the very essence of who she was—had been X-ed out, replaced with a black cross. Panic set in, and she struggled to move, but the suit’s powerful servos restricted her every motion.

"N-no! What is this?!" Pinkie cried, her voice shaking. "Let me out of this thing!"

Above her, a helmet with a dark visor slowly descended, ready to lock onto her head. She thrashed, trying to avoid it, but the metal clamps around her hooves and body held her in place. The visor finally clicked into place over her face, and she could see the world only through a tinted, red lens.

"No! Please! I don’t want to be a robot!" Pinkie screamed, but her voice echoed hollowly in the metallic suit. The transformation was complete. Her mind was now linked to the Dalek’s control network.

Pinkie Pie, the Element of Laughter, was no longer in control of her own body.

Elsewhere in the metallic fortress, more familiar faces had met the same grim fate. Trixie Lulamoon, Vinyl Scratch, Cheerilee, Lyra Heartstrings, and Bon Bon stood in cold, silent rows, each outfitted in identical metal uniforms. Their eyes, once full of life, were now hidden behind identical visors, their minds enslaved to the Daleks.

Inside the Dalek command room, the lead Dalek surveyed its new army, its single eyestalk glowing ominously. "The invasion will commence. All resistance will be futile. Equestria will be ours."

A distorted, robotic voice chimed in, one that had once belonged to Twilight Sparkle. "The Elements of Harmony will fall. Begin… the extermination!"

The Dalek army, now reinforced by some of Equestria’s most beloved ponies, marched forward, ready to unleash chaos upon the land.

In the heart of Canterlot, Princess Celestia stood on the balcony of her castle, looking out at the horizon with a growing sense of dread. Dark clouds were gathering, and a strange energy filled the air. Something was coming, something terrible.

"Princess," a guard called out, rushing up to her. "Reports are coming in from all over Equestria. Ponies are disappearing, and strange metallic creatures have been sighted."

Celestia narrowed her eyes, her heart heavy. "We must prepare for war. Twilight… my faithful student… where are you?"

Unbeknownst to her, Twilight, now a twisted version of her former self, led the charge of the invasion. Equestria’s fate was hanging by a thread, and the battle for its future was about to begin.

The Daleks had arrived, and their conquest of Equestria was underway!

To be continued…
