Summary

I had been summoned, to the Queen: Chrysalis. (When you have to go, you have to go; there is no Escape, no excuse good enough to cover your flank.)

“Oh, well!” I ponder; “I have been summoned..” I continue; "delaying will only make it worse, for me!” I conclude, on my way to where I had been summoned. (I don’t know what she wants {out of me}; but she has summoned me, for whatever reason, even if she did not actually need a reason to summon me. {Once I am summoned, I am at the mercy of her whims, in any case.})

A moment later, I step in, entering the chamber where our Queen is currently standing. (A surprisingly small and uncomfortable chamber, but it is out of sight and thus out of mind.)

“There you are, finally!” she exclaims, just as I am entering the chamber, as small as it may be. (I am feeling a touch of Claustrophobia, as I am entering; and it is not getting any better, not to mention to be alone with the Queen!)

“Why did she summon me, of all the Changelings she has available to her?” I ponder; “Greetings, Queen!” I respond, in an attempt of lighting the reception towards me; “Yes, I am here!” I confirm.

“I have a Mission for you; a very Important one, at that!” she proclaims. (Extra Emphasis on Mission and Important!)

“I am honoured!” I suggest, bowing my head. (But, of course I am..{My Queen needs me!})

“I need you to go to Ponyville!” she explains.

“I can do that, for you!” I respond; “This does sound a bit too easy, there has to be something more to it?” I ponder, holding my tongue.

“I need you to infiltrate the Library in the Castle of Friendship..” she continues.

“Yes, Queen!” I respond.

“I need you to deliver a book to Twilight Sparkle, the Princess of Friendship..” she continues.

“Yes, Queen!” I respond; “Didn’t Twilight love books and reading?” I ponder.

“You will need to wear this ring..” she points out; while presenting me with a glittering black ring, placing it onto my horn, with deliberate care.

“Yes, Queen!” I respond; “This feels weird, but I can’t utter a word about that in her face!” I ponder, shivering.

“None may know of your fate, or even your departure..” she points out; “Make haste and deliver the book to her!” she explains.

“Yes, Queen!” I respond, while I am experiencing increasingly cold chills down the entire length of my spine.

“Best of luck..” she offers; “now, begone; none may know..” she urges; “the ring will guide you, in your mission!” she suggests.

“Yes, Queen!” I respond, as I am backing away; “at least, I will not suffer the wrath of (y)our beloved Queen!” I ponder, with utter finality; as I am slipping out of the hive, with the guidance of the ring of promise already stuck to the base of my horn. (Slowly fusing to my form and melting into my hard carapace, in the process!)

It is not so much that I had been banished; if that had been the case, the rest of the hive would have been informed of the judgment.

Soon enough, I find myself out of the hive, in the open. I stretch my wings and take flight; soon turning in the direction of Ponyville and the Castle of Friendship, my final destination.

The flight is quiet.. and uneventful as could have been hoped for. (I don’t even encounter a single Changeling, Pony or any other Creature {,thankfully}.) While in flight, I have no chance to see myself; there is no mirror, or other reflective surface before me.

I land, before the castle; Quietly, unseen. (Just as I had been ordered, instructed to!)

“Chrysalis will be pleased..” I ponder, as I am trotting up towards the castle. (Still unseen, unnoticed!)

I step into the Castle of Friendship, still unseen. I sigh in relief, one more step of my mission is going as I had been instructed.

Since I am not noticed, or at least; not as far as I know, I start to explore the castle and its interior. (I see a map of all the rooms I had finished exploring, before my inner eyes; as if I had been holding a physical map before me.)

Step by step, I am exploring the castle, one floor at the time. (I hide in a small closet, in order to rest; hiding from anyone, or any Pony who could detect me while I am in the open.)

Thankfully, I am not discovered; I remain hidden, and unseen.

“This looks like the perfect spot for the ambush, where I can deliver the Book to Princess Twilight Sparkle, while staying out of sight!” I realize; “Now, I just need to wait for her to show up; in order for me to trap her, so that I can deliver the book to her!” I conclude.

I am waiting, for Twilight to appear; in order for me to finally complete my mission. (Delivering the book Chrysalis had presented me with!!)

I am waiting..

Waiting..

Waiting..

Waiting.. (Patiently, ever so patiently.)

As if I had anything better to do, with my time? (With the ring, I could wait indefinitely; though I guess: that would be pointless, on the account of missing the target. {but still!!})

There it is, a noise. (I hear the sounds of a Pony trotting over the crystal floor.)

I step up behind her, shadowing her to the position I had selected for the delivery.

Just as she is over the point, I target her hind hoof. I fire off a beam; hitting her hoof, as expected. (It takes her a moment to realize what had just happened; but then it is too late, too late by far.. {She is stuck to the floor, incapable of moving anywhere!!})

“I got her..” I ponder, firing off the second shot; hitting her still free hind hoof, just as the hoof is leaving the floor. (She may struggle all she likes; she will not be able to move out of the spot, now!!)

I do not watch her struggle. I rather shoot of a third and fourth beam; trapping her in place, each of her hooves securely stuck on the floor.

One final beam, and her horn is no longer able to cast a single spell. (With that, I slip away; hiding from her.)

Once I had confirmed that she is stuck; I levitate the book over to her, delivering the book and thus concludes the final instruction I had been given. (I am still bound by her commands; I can not be seen, or heard!)

What am I to do, now? (It isn’t, as if I could melt into the floor or become invisible; neither option, is within my power!)
