Day 16: Pink Pony Planning

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

Pinkie was hard at work in her party planning cave, frantically pacing in front of a giant billboard with several diagrams pinned, with several photographs of all the month’s contestants being grouped together.

“Okay, so for this one, Gallus can be with Tempest, Celestia can be with Tirek, I can take Pharynx and Little Strongheart-oh wait, she’s out now. Oooh, that means that Derpy can go with Chrysalis! There we go! Easy!”

Pinkie beamed with pride before looking at some of the other arrangements she had already set up throughout the month. “Welp, guess I gotta get rid of these ones, then!”

Pinkie Pie started tearing sheets from the board, any of the ones that had Little Strongheart participating in the orgy simply had to go.

“Alright, back to it, then! What should we do if we have these guys win…?”

Meanwhile, above ground, Princess Cadence walked into the bakery, being greeted by Mrs. Cake.

“Oh, hiya there, Princess Cadence! What can I do for ya?”

“Hello, Mrs. Cake, it’s lovely to see you,” Cadence said. “I was wondering if I could talk to Pinkie Pie, is she around today?”

“Oh, I think she’s…downstairs,” Mrs. Cake answered. She bowed down, yelling directly to the floor. “PINKIE! THERE’S SOMEPONY THAT WANTS TO SEE YOU!”

Pinkie’s ears twitched as she heard Mrs. Cake yelling from all the way down where she was. She took one last look at her still incomplete charts before running up the slide that connected her cave to the store.

From the counter, Cadence could see Pinkie pop out from underneath the floorboards.

“Oh, hey, Cadence! What’s up?” Pinkie leaned against the floor, propping her up and keeping her half above ground.

“Well, I heard that you were planning some stuff for the orgy, but you might be having some trouble doing it all on your own,” Cadence smiled.

“Oh, that? Psssh! It’s been a piece of cake so far!” Pinkie scoffed. “Though if you wanna check it out what I’ve gotten so far, you can-whoaaa!”

Pinkie’s grip on the floor slipped, causing her to slide all the way back down, the sound of her going “Wheeeeeeeee!” getting fainter by the second.

“Oh dear…” Mrs. Cake murmured, looking down the hole.

Cadence stepped behind the counter, also staring down the hole to Pinkie’s cave. “Well, I guess there’s only one way down there,” she chuckled.

“Just remember to be careful, dear!” Mrs. Cake warned. “I know Pinkie can get in and out of there easily, but most ponies can’t!”

The trapdoor downstairs was nearly pitch-black, but Cadence could see a hint of a plastic slide shining in the darkness. With a brave leap, she took the plunge.

After a lot of sharp turns and loop-de-loops, Cadence found herself in Pinkie’s party planning cave, where the sugary smell of candy was even stronger than it was in the bakery.

By the time Cadence got down, Pinkie was already in a chair at a table, spinning around to face her, having her hooves tented. “So, you really came all the way to Ponyville just to see what I had planned for the orgy?”

“Well, it’s pretty unusual for someone that isn’t hosting the event to try and plan something for the orgy outside of bringing sex toys,” Cadence smirked.

“Yeah, but it feels like forever since I’ve got to be in No Clop, so I wanna do something super-duper special for it!”

“And what exactly is this ‘super-duper special’ thing you had in mind?”

“Well, since whatever team wins will get the first round all to themselves, I decided to help them out on planning the best possible start to the orgy!” Pinkie kicked her hoof against the table, sliding away to reveal the billboard to Cadence. “Ta-daaaaa!”

Cadence stepped back just to take it all in. So many photos of the participants on this massive billboard, so many combinations of characters put together, it all seemed so delightfully familiar.

Pinkie sidled up to Cadence, seeing the look of wonder in her eyes. “You liiiike?”

“Wow…how long have you been working on this?” Cadence asked with awe.

“Oh, I started on like, the second of the month or so,” Pinkie said. “Who would’ve thought there’d have to be so much planning even with just a hooffull of friends to deal with?”

Cadence started looking closer, trying to take in the finer details. “Hmm, a lot of these seem to be just for Applejack’s team…”

“With Team Applejack winning right now, it just made more sense to prioritize them!” Pinkie explained, holding up a bunch of rolled up sheets of paper. “I did some work on Team Dashie, too, but lemmie tell ya, it’s HARD to organize stuff when the participants just keep dropping!”

“I see.” Cadence’s eyes scanned over all the scenarios again. “Hmm, all the scenarios you’ve planned for still have you making it to the orgy…”

“Well, duh! Where’s the fun in planning for losing?”

Cadence giggled. “Can’t argue with that, I suppose. You’re doing quite a lot of work for something that’ll only last a few minutes at the start.”

“Maybe, but it’s fun! Though admittedly, sometimes things get reeeeaaaally tricky to make combinations for.”

Cadence raised an eyebrow curiously. “Oh? Like what?”

Pinkie unfurled another blank sheet, putting up photographs of herself, Applejack, Cadence, Gallus, Spitfire, Pharynx, Tirek, and Zephyr. “I’m trying to make it so that everyone’s happy with their first choice, but grouping them up gets real complicated real fast!”

Cadence squinted her eyes and pursed her lip as she stared at the group of photographs, the gears already turning in her head. She used her magic to pick up each picture, arranging them into groups and swapping them around as she talked to herself.

“We can do that…swap them around…group them up…maybe do that one…aaaaand…there! What do you think?”

Cadence had arranged the pictures so that Spitfire, Pinkie, and Gallus were together, then herself with Pharynx and Zephyr, then finally Applejack with Tirek. “I think that’d make everyone happy if that’s what we ended up with.”

Now it was Pinkie’s turn to be awestruck. “Wowie! How’d you do all that so fast?”

“I used to help Twilight organize a LOT of things when I was her foalsitter,” Cadence chuckled.

“With your help, we could get this all done in a week!” Pinkie grinned excitedly.

“Well, what are we waiting for?” Cadence rubbed her hooves together, her eyes twinkling with excitement. “Gimmie another, this is fun!”

“Oooh, let’s do one of Dashie’s teams next!”

“Hmm, let’s see, if Trixie is to do a performance with Coloratura, the show will need something more…” Trixie muttered to herself, walking around Ponyville.

She had brainstormed a few ideas with Coloratura about what their upcoming show would entail. There were a few good ideas, but so far, everything just felt so disconnected. It felt more like two different performances going on instead of a combined one.

“Trixie needs something show-stopping, something eye-catching, something…”

As she was thinking out loud, there was a bright streak above that lit up the skies as it flew past her head, landing a short distance away as the wind nearly blew her hat off.

“...Perfect!”

After landing, Spitfire stood up straight and rolled her neck, stretching out her wings as she started to cool down.

Trixie cleared her throat and approached Spitfire. “You! Spitfire! Trixie has urgent need of you!”

Spitfire turned around, given that it was Trixie, she was cautious, but curious. “Yeah? What do you need, Trixie?”

Trixie chuckled to herself, standing up on her hind hooves. “Trixie, in her vast wisdom and generosity, has decided to extend an invitation for you, Spitfire, for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to perform with The Great and Powerful Trixie herself!”

“...Pssh, that all?” Spitfire scoffed.

“H-Hey!” Trixie sputtered. “Did you not hear Trixie? Once in a lifetime opportunity! Helloooo? You get to show off those amazing aerial stunts alongside Trixie’s magic!”

“Look, I’m flattered that you like my flying, but I’m a Wonderbolt, not a party clown,” Spitfire shrugged before she turned back around.

“WAITWAITWAITWAITWAIT!” Trixie desperately pleaded. “Alright, Trixie didn’t want to reveal her hoof this early, but…Trixie would like you to perform alongside her…aaaand Coloratura!”

Spitfire turned back around, her face having a mix of intrigue and suspicion. “You’re performing with Coloratura?”

“Well, more like she’s performing with me, but nevertheless! Trixie would like you to combine your talents alongside hers and Coloratura’s!”

Spitfire still wasn’t convinced. “You already got Coloratura, what do you need me for?”

“Mmm, call it a showmare’s intuition,” Trixie winked. “Trixie’s been looking for that extra little oomph that this performance deserves, and she thinks that you have it!”

Spitfire still had her doubts, but since Coloratura hadn’t been on stage in such a long time, this would be a rare opportunity. Provided that Trixie was telling the truth, of course. “Eh, what the hell, if you really need me that badly, sure.”

“YESSSS!” Trixie pumped her hoof in victory. “This is going to be the most spectacular, most unforgettable show ever!”

“Yeah, so, what do you need me to do?”

“How about meeting up around here, say…Monday, at 9:30?” Trixie suggested. “So that we can all work out a routine together? Trixie will inform Coloratura of her newest performing partner, of course.”

“That late?” Spitfire laughed. “You really know how to treat your special guests right, Trixie!”
