Harry waking up on the high seas was just pure luck and the young wizard knew it, he should be dead but he isn't.

The why was irrelevant, the only thing that mattered to him was that he was finally free from the prophecy and could rest easy knowing that the dark wizard who caused so much death, so much destruction and so much pain was finally gone. Forever.
