Season 1: Episode 12 - Gala Morning

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

Today was the day of the Grand Galloping Gala at Canterlot. The Main Six were already on their way there with transportation provided by Princess Luna. Even Empress Alli and her sister Marina had been invited. Gomma; due to having never met Princess Luna; was not invited to the Gala, but the Gotsumon figured he could at least provide additional security for the event. After all, he believes Marina has an agent that would sabotage such an event.

However, not all will be sunshine and rainbows today, because before we focus on the gala itself, we move to elsewhere on Equees to the hall of the Knight's Order.

"I can't believe you. Not only did you accept a bribe, but you personally went out of your way to put someone down who clearly has the heart of a Knight." Garrison said. "And for years, I considered you my closest ally; sometimes even my best friend. Any semblance of that has officially left my mind."

"C-can't we talk about this, kupo?" Cinnamon asked. "M-maybe instead of firing me--"

"If this was just about the bribe, then maybe; just maybe; I'd make you start over in the Knight's Order from the ground up. But alas, my reasons for firing you don't extend just to the bribe. You belittled someone who embodies the true spirit of the kind of Knight I'm looking for. And it is for those reasons, that you are officially being cast out from the Knight's Order." Garrison explained. "Turn in your access key and uniform on your way out; I-I can't even look at you right now."

Cinnamon was downcast. It was very clear, that what he did made Garrison ashamed. Deciding not to disgrace his former captain further, Cinnamon did as he was told without complaint. "I can only hope that, should we meet again kupo; it's under better circumstances." The former Moogle Knight said and left the building.

"...So, what now boss?" The Nu Mu Scholar asked.

"Well, luckily for me, I just received an invite to the Grand Galloping Gala. I have plans on making a recruitment effort during the event, and it should certainly boost our numbers." Garrison said and then got on his personal transportation: An airship that the Seeq had won at an auction recently. "Wonder why the manual for this strange looking airship warned me about throwing up after the first flight. I haven't flown in this yet, but this seems like the perfect opportunity to give it a test flight." Garrison said before pressing a button. The airship zoomed away faster than even the Seeq was prepared for, as when he arrived at Canterlot, when the Seeq exited the plane, he went to where no one could see him and proceeded to vomit. "...So that's why the manual warned me about throwing up after the first flight..."

Speaking of Canterlot however, there was one other thing going on in the gardens. "...I have to give you some credit Miss Valarie: Teleporting us to Canterlot Gardens was a smart plan; makes it more likely for me to get caught by the Royal Guard." A male voice said; it came from a strange looking figure that was standing over Valarie. "Alas, it seems your plan falls apart, for today is the day of the Grand Galloping Gala; security for the gardens doesn't exist on this day."

"Wh-why? Why have you attacked me?" Valarie asked.

"No special reason; I just wanted to get under Alli's Skin." The mysterious figure said, and then noticed something glint around Valarie's waist. "...Well well well, what have we here?"

"! No! Leave that alone! You don't know what that opens!" Valarie exclaimed as the mysterious figure took a key that was attached to Valarie's waist.

"Hmm...I think I know exactly what this could open. I guess now, I have something else I can do to get under Alli's skin. Oh, I simply cannot wait." The mysterious figure said, before he vanished.

Dilerance huffed as she sat in her cell. And that's when she heard a very eerie whistle. "...That's a peculiar whistle..." Dilerance said. That's when the mysterious figure suddenly looked over her in her cell. "Wait...aren't you--"

"Save it." The mysterious figure said before using the key that he got from Valarie on the cell door. The door opened. "After all, I believe what you crave the most right now is revenge: Revenge against both your daughters."

Dilerance was a bit confused. "While I won't deny, I'd love to truely break Alli into my true heir like my original plan dictated, why would I have any reason to get revenge on Marina outside of the fact she disowned me? I was already planning on having Alli; once she was broken; turn on her sister."

"Do you know who tipped off the rebels?" The mysterious figure asked. "Seriously, have you ever stopped to think why Marina was given a much lighter sentencing by your youngest daughter?"

Dilerance's eyes went wide. "...Of course, it's so obvious in hindsight." She said. "Thank you for this information. Don't think I owe you one though."

"Oh, you'll be causing enough evil to pay me back on your own." The mysterious figure said. As the episode began to end, an evil laugh could be heard; and it proceeded even after the entire episode went dark.
