My Little Pony: When Friendship Shimmers - Rewriting Fate
Season 0: Episode 4 - The Moogle Elder
Previous ChapterNext ChapterAuthor's Note
There's a lot of build-up that's being done in the background, and this episode will be no different. This is yet another episode that doesn't focus on the ponies. I know there are probably going to be at least one person who'll be upset that two episodes in a row are being dedicated to non-pony characters; however, please understand that these episodes are important to the greater narrative that I'm trying to go for here.
Season 0: Episode 4 - The Moogle Elder
While today Sunset was enjoying more time playing with Twilight Sparkle, it is in Goug that the important things are happening. The Moogle Theif who happened upon a recently deceased Moogle Animist was heading through the upper district of Goug, which you may remember, is the district built on a flying city made possible through technology.
It is in this Upper District that the majority of Moogles live, and while there is a government to Goug, all respect on particular Moogle. Now known as The Great Moogle Elder, the respected Moogle was the first official head of Goug's government. Even in this day and age, all respect The Great Moogle Elder whose name is Mog. Yet, hardly anyone calls Mog by his birth name anymore, choosing to refer to him as The Great Moogle Elder instead.
The Moogle Theif who currently wore the clothes of a Moogle Animist was heading for the home of The Great Moogle Elder. If anyone can help me find someone who can traditionalize me for cheap, it has to be The Great Moogle Elder. The Disguised Theif thought to himself. He knows everything after all...
The disguised Theif had made it to The Great Moogle Elder's home, when suddenly, a Moogle Chocobo Knight spotted him. "Halt, are you going to The Great Moogle Elder for information?" The Chocobo Knight said. This particular Chocobo Knight was riding a Red Chocobo. Unable to speak to the Chocobo Knight due to the fact he was clearly a skilled one by being able to tame a Red Chocobo, the disguised Moogle Theif nodded. "Well, I'll be out here to help you should you need. Do be quick coming out though, I got a patrol to do, kupo." The Chocobo Knight said.
The disguised thief was a little confused as to why he would need help, and entered the house of The Great Moogle Elder.
The inside of the house was like walking into a different world; everything inside the house was giving off the vibe of something otherworldly. There was even a red carpet leading up to where The Great Moogle Elder chose to sit as if he was expecting the disguised thief.
"You come to my house, kupo. You may approuch, for I have been expecting you, kupo." The Great Moogle Elder said. Nervously, the disguised thief approuched The Great Moogle Elder and was now in a much bigger part of the current room. "You already know who I am; I am Mog, the one everyone refers to as The Great Moogle Elder, Kupo." Mog began. "And you are Malzone, a theif born in the slums, kupo."
"Wh-how did you--" To say the disguised thief was caught off guard would be an understatement.
"I know everything in this city, kupo; you honestly shouldn't be so surprised." Mog said. "So tell me Malzone: What is it that you want from me?"
"I-I need to know someone who can traditionalize me for cheap. Since you know everything, you would know the perfect person for such a task." Malzone said.
"There is no need to search for someone to spend Gil on, kupo. I can traditionalize you myself." Mog said. "I will also teach you a few animist abilities personally as well; these two things combined will take three months training to undergo, kupo."
"Th-that's incredible. But, there has to be a catch. You wouldn't be offering such an opportunity for free." Malzone said. "What is your price?"
"I do not deal in gil, kupo. The reason why I know everything, is because I always trade the things I know for things others know. Information for information, a true exchange of goods for services rendered." Mog said.
Malzone realized why the Chocobo Knight was waiting outside now: Mog must always seek information so that he stays ten steps ahead of the curve on everything. "So then, what information do you need me to get?"
"You won't need to get information, because in exchange for the knowledge I shall bestow upon you, I am going to take from you the identity that you came into my house with." Mog said. "The thief known as Malzone will cease to exist, and I will bestow upon you a new identity once everything is said in done. The moogle you were before you came in here will be discarded, and a new moogle you will become."
Malzone was speechless. This was everything he wanted and more. "I accept." Malzone said without even a hint of hestitation.
"I had a feeling you'd agree, kupo." Mog said. "So, let us get started then kupo; we have a long three months ahead of us both, kupo."
