Chapters Chapter 9. A lot to think about
'It's not fair it's not fair it's not FAIR!!!'
Discord cursed to himself time and time again, how could he have been easily defeated by gushy romance?!
'I was a being above the comprehension of those miserable equines! Every obstacle that rivaled my power had been removed! How could their love be strong enough to create a new element that could re-trap me?!'
It didn't make any sense to Discord, and coming from him, that said something....
He thought to himself on what he could have done differently that would have resulted in things ending much better for him.
'Should I have just put Shining Armor into a coma?.... No, that isn't nearly as fun as posing as his bride..... Should I have just been nice to Twilight and not banish her to the caves? She was already feeling remorseful and was on the verge of tears.....'
Discord speculated time and time again what could he have done to prevent his stony fate....
'If I had at least tried to act like Cadance and welcomed Twilight with open hooves, would Cadance ever have escaped without her help?.....' The wedding never would have been interrupted, and maybe then he would have......
'No! That's ridiculous even for you! Get a grip Discord!'
His goal was never to marry Shining Armor for himself, it just happened to be a side effect of achieving his true goal.
He could never love Shining Armor........ Because he could never love him back.....
It just wouldn't be genuine.......
Discord ultimately gave a non existent sigh, as he stared into the garden in contemplation.....
However, one thing was for certain for the chaos demigod.
'And I thought being beaten by the power of friendship was embarrassing.'
The end.
Discord stood motionless on his pedestal for what seemed like years, growing more bored out of his mind with every passing second.....
He had thought to himself time and time again..........
How had Twilight Sparkle rekindled her friendship so easily?!
He had played the ponies like a fiddle on a string, he had them exactly where he wanted them.
He was able to manipulate them into falling to his madness through deceit and mind games, with them betraying their elements of harmony, they would be ineffective against him.
So how in TARTARUS did Twilight snap out of it and made them remember why friendship is important?!
The question ate away at his essence with every passing bird that popped on him.
Until eventually he came to a conclusion........ Perhaps he was thinking too small........
Ponyville was small and insignificant, why had he chosen that to be the chaos capital of the world?
He should have gone after Canterlot instead, seeing as it was where he was kept imprisoned and where Princess Celestia laid her sun butt all day.
Was it just to taunt Twilight for the heck of it? He couldn't really remember, he couldn't be bothered to remember all his thoughts and intentions....
Regardless, he knew that the next time he was released as soon as he stole the elements again, he would cover Canterlot in chaos.
However, after Discord had planned his next attack, the garden was visited by three unicorn mares who grouped together.
"Did anypony see you?" A green pony asked a blue pony.
"No, nopony suspects a thing." The blue pony stated, as a grey unicorn nodded that she wasn't caught either.
Curious, Discord made sure to pay close attention to what these ponies were scheming about.....
"Good, now what intel have you gathered surrounding the wedding?" The green unicorn asked the other two.
'Wedding?' Discord thought to himself....
"The wedding is scheduled to take place in three days." The grey unicorn informed the green one.
"Perfect, Chrysalis will be pleased." the green unicorn smiled evilly, as her eyes flashed a shade of green.
'Changelings? Sneaking around in Canterlot? I thought Celestia would have installed a better security measure for things like that now.....' Discord pondered to himself, as he continued to spy on what the changelings were up to.
"Personally, I don't see why this wedding is such a big deal for her majesty. Why couldn't we have invaded on any other day?" The grey "unicorn" asked the others.
"Because the groom's love is powerful enough to make her stronger! Impersonating the bride will allow her to consume that much love." The green one explained, as Discord watched with eager curiosity.
"Well, what if she gets easily found out and we're forced to retreat? In case you've forgotten, our queen isn't exactly the best at impersonation." The blue one stated.
"Are you underestimating her chances at success?! What would she say to you if you told her in person?!" The green one lashed at the blue one.
"I only believe that we shouldn't be chasing after a lost cause! if Equestria is really that big on food then we should find a different way!" The blue one argued.
"Don't you DARE go against our queens plans!" The green one argued, as she and the blue one fought over what to do.
"You two! Break it up! We aren't getting anywhere through fighting!!!" The grey one ordered her comrades.
However, unbeknownst to the bugs, Discord could feel himself getting stronger. The unrestrained chaos from the changelings arguing was loosening the elements grip on his physical form.
"Listen! Our job isn't even done in Canterlot! You two can argue and bicker like grubs AFTER we have gathered enough information to in act our plan." The grey one stated, causing the green and blue one to stop, but not without giving each other the stink eye first.
"Good, now let's move on from this garden, and make sure nopony saw the two of you bickering." The grey one sneered, as they both left.
Meanwhile, Discord could feel cracks in his stone prison, as he felt it growing weaker, and his chaotic powers getting stronger.
As the grip loosened more and more, the stone incasing his mouth was eventually broken, allowing him to speak again.
"Oh, it feels so good to be back!"
Chapter 2. Becoming the bride
Celestia had caught on quickly to Discord's escape, and ordered captain Shining Armor to cast a spell protecting Canterlot, which he wasted no time doing.
Discord, now less powerful, hid himself within the Canterlot tower while spying on the captain and the princess, as he sensed something within the captain, something that made him wince with disgust.
'So....... That smug little jerk is the brother of Twilight Sparkle?...... It's no wonder his magic can weaken me.' Discord sneered, as he watched a pink pony enter the bridge.
"Is everything alright dear?" The pink Alicorn asked the captain.
"Yes, a little.... I have to protect Canterlot from Discord now. It's not an easy task, especially when it's on our wedding day." Shining Armor lamented, as Cadance rested her head on his shoulder.
'They're the ones getting married? Hmm.....' Discord pondered to himself, as he kept watching while planning his next move. He knew he had to find a way to stop Shining Armor's spell, he just didn't know how....
"But what about the other corners of Equestria? Shouldn't we send Twilight and her friends to recapture him?" Cadance asked her groom.
"Discord hasn't shown himself to the public yet, noir has he tainted anything with his magic. If he keeps hiding, we won't be able to imprison him again." Shining lamented, as Discord snickered to himself.
"Well you will invite Twilight to attend the wedding, won't you?" Cadance asked.
"Of course I will, I'm just afraid I won't be able to do it in person. I have to keep the shield standing." Shining explained, as Cadance looked to the ground sadly.
"Even during the wedding?" Cadance asked.
"Even during the wedding" Shining stated, as Discord ears perked up.
'So..... Shining Armor is protecting Canterlot with one giant spell, and is getting married while doing it?..... Interesting....' Discord schemed to himself.
"You should probably get some rest dear, you need to prepare for our big day." Shining assured Cadance.
"Ok dear." She reluctantly agreed, as she went inside to her suite to get some sleep.
Discord had formed an idea in his head. A terribly, twisted, horrible, idea.
'Sorry Chryssie, but I'm afraid I'm gonna have to piggyback your plan for my own gain.' Discord "lamented", as he travelled within the Canterlot walls and inside Cadance's suite.
As Cadance rested in her bed, she had felt something grabbing her face.
She woke up, and to her horror, she noticed how the bed was consuming her.
She tried to scream, but the hand was preventing her from calling for help.
Eventually, her vision faded into black......
As Cadance's vision returned to her, she had found nothing but darkness surrounding her....
She lit up her horn to see better, but she still couldn't see very far....
"Hello? Is anypony there?...." She called out, but no one answered, save for a maniacal cackle that Cadance recognized....
"Oh, noPONY is, but I'm no PONY." An old, deep, masculine voice answered, as Discord's face appeared on one of the crystals, causing Cadance to jump in shock.
"Enjoying your new home Princess Mi Amore? I had chosen it specifically for YOU." Discord taunted the pink pony princess.
"DISCORD! Why have you imprisoned me here?!" Cadance lashed out at the spirit of chaos.
"Well obviously, we can't have two Cadance's marrying Shining Armor now can we?" Discord told the princess of love, as she stepped back in confusion.
"What?...." Is all she could say.
"I won't get into details, but let's just say your fiance is a real thorn in my side, and I need to get close enough to him to take care of his little..... protection spell, and seeing as how the two of you are getting married in just two days, this works out just perfectly........" Discord explained, as he waved his paw in front of his face, as Cadance stepped back in horror.
"For ME." Discord finished the sentence in her voice, wearing HER face.
"No!" Cadance cried, knowing what Discord was up to.
"When Shining Armor marries 'Princess Cadance', he will be Discorded to the point where his spell no longer works, and Canterlot will be the perfect Chaos Capital 2.0." Discord explained to the real Cadance, who teared up fearing for her groom's safety.
"Don't you DARE hurt Shining Armor!!!" Cadance threatened.
"Your husband will be MINE!" Discord taunted, as he laughed maniacally in Cadance's own voice, as the image faded away.
"NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Chapter 3. Settling in someone else's skin
Discord woke up in Cadance's bed after a long nap, and was awoken to the sound of someone knocking on the door.
"Come in." Discord answered in Cadance's voice.
Then Shining Armor opened the door.
"Did you have a good sleep dear?" Shining Armor asked "his bride".
"Why yes...... Yes I did." "Cadance" assured the captain.
"Good, because we have a big day ahead of us. We are going to plan the wedding today, and the invitation was just sent to Ponyville, meaning Twily and her friends should arrive in about an hour." Shining explained, as "Cadance's" eyes widened in realization.
"Twilight and the others are coming today?" "Cadance" asked Shining for conformation.
"Yes, in less then an hour. And you'll be able to see your favorite foal to sit for. Isn't that wonderful dear?" Shining asked "Cadance".
"Yes...... Wonderful......" "Cadance" exclaimed with a forced grin, as Shining grinned back.
"Come on, we better get ready for the day." Shining told "Cadance", as they both walked out of the suite.
Discord cursed inside his head, he hadn't really thought things through all that well.
While he was able to flawlessly replicate someone else's appearance down to a tee, his one glaring flaw was that he couldn't replicate their personality.
No matter what, he will always be a crazy Draconequus bent on chaos.
If Twilight were to encounter him, she would catch on quickly that "Cadance" is not Cadance.
He would be exposed, and they would get the elements to blast him back into his stone confinement, which he wasn't powerful enough to steal like last time.
And his entire plan would be all for nothing.....
No! He REFUSED to go back to being an outhouse for pesky birds who flew past him, things were going to change, and he wasn't going to let the six bearers ruin it for him this time!
So he had to think of a plan.... He knew Twilight was too smart for her own good, he knew he couldn't fool her.....
But maybe he could use that to his advantage......
"I'll be right along with you dear, there's just a few things I need to think about going forward." "Cadance" told "her" groom, as he gave a nod and went in the opposite direction.
"Oh, and when you're not too busy, why don't you stop by my room for a little.... playtime?" "Cadance" suggested, as "she" gave a few winks at Shining Armor, who grinned at "her" style of word play.
"I'll consider it." Shining stated before leaving, leaving Discord to chuckle over the realization that the captain was probably horny enough to sleep with him BEFORE the wedding.
Later.....
Discord walked into the alter to see if everything was prepared, only to bump into Princess Celestia herself.
"Hello Cadance, are you excited for your special day?" Celestia asked what she assumed to be her niece.
Discord tried to hold in a scowl, as he was supposed to be her niece, so he had to treat her with respect, despite how lame it was.
"Oh, you have no idea. I have been waiting for this for a very, long time..." "Cadance" stated.
"I'm glad to hear that. Everything is decorated appropriately for the wedding, if that's what you came to see." Celestia told "her niece".
"That's wonderful!" "Cadance" exclaimed.
"Indeed, and I believe that Twilight and the others should have arrived a couple minutes ago.... Why don't you greet Twilight back, I know you'll be excited to see her." Celestia said.
"Oh I will, and I think she may be excited to see me too....." "Cadance" assured, as "she" left the alter to look for Twilight, as Celestia stared with a warm smile.
Eventually, Discord made his way up to the bridge where Twilight and Shining were conversing.
"You're marrying Cadance! You're marrying Cadance! You're marrying Cadance!"
Discord overheard Twilight jumping for joy, until she ran into him.
"Yes? You called for me?" Discord pretended that he didn't overhear their conversation earlier.
"Cadance! Sunshine sunshine! Ladybugs awake! Clap your hooves and do a little shake!"
"Umm, what are you doing?......." Discord intentionally didn't use the song and dance, hoping it would trigger a reaction.
"Cadance it's me! Twilight!"
"Right, sorry Twilight but I don't have time to gallop in the sunshine right now, maybe some other time..........."
"What?............"
And with that, Discord had Twilight right where he wanted her......
"I'll be at my post, while Cadance checks in on the wedding preparations. I'm sure we all feel that it was wonderful that you and your friends get to spend this wonderful occasion with us, right dear?"
"Why yes, dear........" "Cadance" assured "her" groom. as he tried to hide a smug smirk from him and his sister, as he and Shining left to their posts.
'Catch you later, TWILIGHT.......'
Captain Shining Armor rested on the bridge, trying to concentrate on his spell.
"Is everything alright dear?" "Cadance" asked the groom, as "she" walked up to him.
"I have to concentrate on the spell. All of Canterlot is depending on me, and I can't let everypony down." The captain explained to "his bride", as he felt a slight migraine.
"That must be putting a lot of pressure on your shoulders huh? I mean, the fate of an entire capital resting solely on your hooves? You must feel exhausted...." "Cadance" "comforted" the captain.
"It is pretty tiring....." Shining Armor stated....
"I don't blame you if this job is too much for you, it's not your fault the princess gave you a task that is beyond your level of abilities...." "Cadance" "assured" Shining, as he glanced to the side in disbelief.
"But it's ok, you still have me to support you during these hard times, dear....." "Cadance" "assured", as "she" rested "her" head on Shining's shoulder, as his color started to fade into a more grey tone....
"Well, I best be going. I have to continue overseeing the preparations for the wedding... Do try to relax, won't you dear?" "Cadance" told Shining, as "she" left the bridge, leaving the captain to feel slightly weaker......
Later......
Discord walked into the kitchen.
"Hiya princess!" Applejack greeted as "she" walked in.
"Please, call me Princess Mi Amore Cadenza." Discord mocked Cadance's regal full name in a subtle way.
"Hiya Princess Mi Amore Cadenza! You've come to check out what's on the menu for your big day?" AJ asked "the princess".
'geez, can't a pony get a joke?' Discord thought to himself, as AJ hadn't realized that "she" was making fun of "herself".
"Why yes, I have." "Cadance" answered in a forced delighted tone. As he walked towards the food, he quickly glanced in Twilight's direction, making sure she was paying attention.
When he levitated the food with his horn, he made sure that the aura was blue like the real Cadance. He didn't want to make himself too suspicious in front of Twilight or any other ponies, as that could tip them off that he wasn't really Cadance.
"Mmm, delicious. You've really outdone yourself Applejack. I think I'll take a few to go." "Cadance" requested.
"Why it means so much coming from you princess! You enjoy the food, and try not to spoil yourself!" AJ told "Cadance", as "she" lifted the bag and walked out the room.
Discord figured he'd have a quick bite before heading to oversee the dresses. Of course, being an immortal deity of chaos he didn't really need to eat, but it was still delicious to eat none the less.
Later......
"'please, call me Princess Mi Amore Cadenza.'"
'Well at least somepony understood the joke.' Discord thought to himself, as he headed inside the dressing room.
"Ya rang?"
"Your highness! Let me just start by saying what an honor it is to play a role in such a momentous occasion."
"Yes yes yes of course, how are the dresses?"
"Well, I've been working on it ever since I was given the assignment, and I think you'll be pleased with the results."
Discord thought about what to say to criticize the dresses, what would a bride want more out of dresses like these?.....
"I was hoping for something with more beading and a longer train."
"Oh yes, of course."
"And those should be a different color."
"I think they're lovely!"
"Me too!"
"I love them!"
'Right on cue.' Discord thought to himself, as he coughed after the bridesmaids complimented the dresses, as if to tell them, "Please, let me handle this."
"Make them a different color, please." "Cadance" politely asked, as "she" left with the bridesmaids to inspect the reception.
Discord tried to at least act polite in front of the ponies, after all the last thing they'd expect from the princess of love is a bridezilla, that would have definitely tipped them off that he wasn't her.
Later....
"Ok. we've been over the games," Discord observed Pinkie Pie as she played around the reception.
"The dances," She exclaimed as she danced like a chicken.
"Oh! I think this reception is gonna be perfect! Don't you?"
"Absolutely! Never change Pinkie Pie."
"Thank you!"
'You were always my favorite Pink..... And I know you're there Twilight, I have something special planned just for you....'
Chapter 5. According to plan
Discord walked through the Canterlot hallway as the bridesmaids followed.
"I thought those dresses looked lovely!"
"I know! They had a magnificent aura to them!"
"I don't think we're ever going to get dresses that beautiful again!"
These bridesmaids were starting to get on Discord's nerves, he had to find a way to get rid of them.
He had thought about how he left Cadance unguarded when he sent her to the Caves. He had to fix that, and he knew just how to do it.
"Why don't you three stand against the wall for a minute?" "Cadance" requested the bridesmaids.
"Why? What's so important that we do that?" One bridesmaid asked "the bride".
"Why, it's a surprise...." "Cadance" "assured" the bridesmaids, as one of them gasped in excitement.
"We love surprises!"
"Will we like the surprise? Is it exciting?!"
"Is it new dresses for us?!"
"Girls girls! One at a time.... If I told you, it wouldn't be a surprise now would it?" "Cadance" asked the bridesmaids.
"No, I guess not."
"Good. Now stand against the wall, and no peaking." "Cadance" instructed the bridesmaids, as they did as they were told.
"I can't wait, I just can't wait!"
"This is the best post wedding plan ever!"
"I can't wait for our surprise!"
Discord snapped his tail which formed a finger, as the three bridesmaids fell under a Discorded trance.
"You are now dwelling cave ponies, you do not want to let anypony leave your cave. They mustn't go anywhere." Discord commanded the brainwashed bridesmaids, as he sent them to the caves as well.
"They won't go anywhere, won't go anywhere...... Won't-" The brainwashed ponies chanted as they were dragged to the caves....
Discord knew that in combat three unicorns didn't stand a chance against the element of magic or the princess of love, but he figured their morality would prevent them from hurting innocent ponies who are under a spell.
However, he then groaned in annoyance, realizing that he needed new bridesmaids.
Which could work in his favor.......
Later....
"Congratulations! You're the new bridesmaids." "Cadance" told the five element bearers, as they all gasped in excitement.
"But.... what happened to the old bridesmaids?" Fluttershy asked.
"Oh, that's not important. This is a golden opportunity for all of you! You should consider this an achievement." "Cadance" "assured" the ponies, as they all wowed and awed at their new dresses and roles in the wedding.
Discord grinned to himself as he walked back to Shining Armor's room.
As he opened the door, he saw Shining Armor waiting for him.
"The bridesmaids have gone missing! you are the last one to have been with them, what happened to them?" Shining confronted "Cadance".
"Don't worry! I gave the job to Twilight's friends." "Cadance" "assured".
"That still doesn't explain what happened to them!" Shining stated.
"Oh, well you see the thing is........" Discord tried to think of a good excuse, until he found one that could not be argued against.
"I had to kick them out. Don't tell anypony, but the only reason they wanted to be in the wedding was so they could meet Canterlot royalty." "Cadance" "lamented", as the captain gasped in shock and disappointment.
"I know! It is upsetting. Promise you won't tell anypony else this? I don't know if they could handle such disappointment." "Cadance" requested the groom, as he nodded in agreement before "Cadance" went upstairs to "her" room.....
Discord snickered evilly as he levitated a hair comb and brushed his mane while starring at the mirror.
'Those fools actually bought it! I knew ponies were gullible but not stupid! Oh the look on their faces when they see who the bride really is after we get hitched! Hah ha ha ha!' Discord snickered to himself, as he then overheard talking coming from downstairs.
Curious, he exited the room to see what was going on.
"But all I'm saying is that-"
"Oh, I'm not interrupting anything, am I?" Discord saw Shining and Twilight talking to each other.
"No, no not at all............"
"Good, because there's something I need to talk to you about, in private........." "Cadance" told "her" fiance, as "she" went inside the broom closet.
Discord laughed maliciously inside his head, for he wanted Twilight to see this....
"Listen, you need to not wear that silly medallion."
"This was my favorite uncle's."
"'Was'. Just take it off."
"I'm wearing it at the wedding."
"Perhaps I don't make myself clear." Discord used his magic on the captain, as he begun to turn more grey.
"You will not wear that medallion at the wedding."
"I will not wear this medallion at the wedding." The groom repeated, as he threw the medallion in the trash bin.
"There, that's better." Discord stated, as he lifted Shining Armor up from his daze.
When they walked out of the closet, they saw Twilight running out the door.
"Twilight?" Shining called out to his sister.
"Let her go." "Cadance" told "her" groom, as "she" gently rubbed "her" head on his shoulder.....
Discord contorted his smile into a wicked grin hidden from Shining Armor, as he knew that everything was going according to plan.......
Later.........
"Cadance" entered the alter to practice for the rehearsal, as "she" approached, Celestia gestured Shining Armor to get the ring from the best mare.
However, they noticed that Twilight wasn't in the room.
"Wha- where is Twilight?"
SLAM!
"Right here!"
'Shouting, that's a good sign...' Discord snickered in his head.
"I'm sorry, I don't know why she's acting like this."
"It's ok, maybe the rehearsal can still happen WITH her."
"No! There is no rehearsal! Because there is no wedding! Because SHE'S, EVIL!"
'It worked!' Discord cackled in his head, while on the outside he pretended to look shocked and afraid.
All the while everypony in the room was genuinely confused and upset.
"She's acted suspicious towards my friends, she's obviously done something to her bridesmaids, and if that wasn't enough, she's able to command Shining to do her bidding through brainwashing!"
Discord giggled in his head as he saw everypony had the same look of shock and bewilderment as he did.
"There is something wrong with her, and I'm not going to let her hurt my brother!"
Discord had Twilight right where he wanted her, now it was time to finish her off.
"Wha- why I would never! Why are you doing this to me?"
"Because you're evil! EVIL! And if I don't stop you, you're going to ruin my brother's life!"
Twilight had fallen for Discord's trap hook, line, and sinker. And he was going to ensure that by playing the innocent victim and running across the hall crying helplessly.
Once he had made it to the end of the hall, he leaned against the wall crying nonstop as he waited for the damage to be done.
He had turned his head to the end of the hall a couple times to check if the ponies would walk out, and when they did, he continued crying fruitlessly.
"I'm so sorry that happened to you, I just don't know what got into her. Are you going to recover?" Shining asked "the bride".
"Sniff. Yes, I'll be fine." "Cadance" assured the groom.
"I don't know what you think is an appropriate punishment, but I BANNED her from the wedding. That's not going to be a problem is it?" Shining asked, as he lifted his hoof up "her" chin.
"No, not at all." "Cadance" assured, as the ponies begun to leave.
"Wait!"
Shining Armor turned back to face "her".
"Let me talk to her. If you really did ban her, then she must have learnt her lesson. But let me talk to her to tell her there's no hard feelings....." "Cadance" requested "her" groom.
"Sigh.... If you believe you must...." Shining accepted, as he and the others left to their rooms.
Discord, with a sly grin, walked back to the alter to see Twilight crying helplessly on the floor.
'Aww, her big bwother hurt her wittle feewings.' Discord mocked in his head, as he walked up to her and placed a hoof on her head, gently rubbing it while giving her a warm smile, as if to say "she's forgiven her".
"I'm so sorry."
"You WILL be."
Discord made the ground consume Twilight like he did with Cadance and the bridesmaids as he sadistically watched Twilight squirm like a worm on a hook.
'THAT'S for turning me into a garden gnome you purple prissy!' Discord scorned in his head, as he walked away with a sadistic smile....
Later.....
"Cadance" returned to "her" and Shining Armor's suite.
"How'd it go?" Shining asked "her".
"I told her I forgave her, but she couldn't take the guilt and stormed out of the castle." "Cadance" "lamented", as Shining sighed in disappointment.
"Don't worry dear, once we marry, we can visit her anytime you like. And the rehearsal, Discord, the migraines, it will all seem like a bad dream...." "Cadance" "assured" as "she" braced him with a hug, which caused him to turn more grey.
All according to plan.......
Chapter 6. The perfect day
"And what better way to get close to him then by taking the image of the pony he's getting married to?"
Discord had revealed his plans to Twilight, as he knew she was trapped with no way out.
He had made sure her friends wouldn't be looking for her after her outburst, and those caves were buried beneath soundproof walls that silenced her screams.
He knew by that point that he had already won, and was now rubbing it in Twilight's nerdy unicorn face.
"Don't you DARE do anything to my brother! You-.......... YOU MONSTER!!!"
Discord was taken aback by this unicorn's stubborn tenacity, this purple nerd really wanted to challenge the lord of chaos by HERSELF?
Very well then....
"Only way to stop me is to catch me!" He taunted, before moving to another crystal while laughing like a lunatic.
"Over here!" He taunted, before Twilight blasted the crystal with her magic, But Discord simply moved to another.
"Nope! Over here!" Discord laughed maniacally as Twilight blasted nearly every crystal in the caves with her magic.
Until eventually, Discord ceased his communication with Twilight, as he dropped to the floor laughing mad.
As he rubbed the tears from his eyes from laughing hysterically, he got up and walked towards the mirror.
Revenge was truly a beautiful thing, it was almost as beautiful as chaos.
That purple punk deserved it, she had been Celestia's kiss up student for who knows how long, and that is the entire reason she agreed to send him back to his stone time out in the first place.
If it weren't for her, he wouldn't be having to marry a smug stallion just to turn Canterlot into the chaos capital in the first place.
Yes, he did not love Shining Armor. Because Shining never loved HIM, he only loved "Cadance".....
Nopony had ever truly loved him for who he was, it was always "Don't turn our roads into soap!" Or "You could have hurt somepony!" Or even "Get out of our home you monster!"
That is how he was seen by everypony for every, single, DAY.... And why Celestia and Luna decided to turn him into a statue in the first place.....
All because he was just being himself.....
They only cared about their precious harmony, and would bucking LOSE IT if anything in the status quo changed.....
Well he was about to show them all just how much the status quo can change.....
Shining Armor was nearly completed Discorded, and when he has fully succumbed to his madness, the shield will be broken, and Canterlot will be consumed by chaos.
Cadance and Twilight, the only ponies who knew what he was up to, were trapped within the Canterlot caves. An endless maze with no way out, and the only entrance being guarded by innocent ponies who they were morally bound from hurting.
And with everypony (and Spike) blissfully unaware of his true self, Equestria will finally become the chaotic playground it was always meant to be....
He knew it........ Without a doubt.........
"This day is going to be perfect....."
"Mares and gentlecolts, we are gathered here today to witness the union of Princess Mi Amore Cadenza, and Shining Armor."
Discord cackled maniacally in his head, as everything had been coming to fruition.
Once he had claimed Shining Armor as his husband, he will be completely Discorded, then he could unleash his unbound chaos upon Canterlot, then all of Equestria.
"Princess Mi Amore Cadenza, do you take Shining Armor to be your lawfully wedded husband for all time?" Celestia asked "Cadance" for "her" vow.
"I do." "Cadance" accepted.
"And do you, Shining Armor, take Princess Cadance to be your lawfully wedded wife in sickness and health?" Celestia asked Shining Armor for his vow.
"I....... Do..." Shining Armor hesitated a bit, as he had turned more grey then before.
"Then, Princess Cadance and Shining Armor, it is my great pleasure to pronounce you-!"
"STOP!!!"
Discord's heart sank as he saw that Twilight Sparkle had escaped and made it to the wedding, did this wretched girl ever know when to quit?!
"Ugh! Why can't she keep her nose away from where it doesn't belong?!"
Discord's eyes widened in realization as everypony looked at him funny, did he say that out loud?
No matter, it was just her. He could still save his plans from being completely foiled.
"I mean, 'why does she have to ruin my special day?'"
He figured that by playing innocent again, the guards would remove her from the wedding so it could continue.
"Because, it's not YOUR special day, IT'S MINE!!!"
No..... NO!!! She can't be here! He had prepared for everything! How could she have possibly escaped?!?!
"Wha- HUH?! But how did you escape the bridesmaids?!"
One flashback later.......
Discord never took into account that changing the bridesmaids personalities didn't erase their desire to be the next to be married.....
"Heh. Clever, but you still can't stop me!"
If he couldn't marry Shining Armor, he could still Discord him until his spell was useless.
"I don't understand! How can there be two of her?"
"He's Discord! He imprisoned me in the caverns of Canterlot so he could steal my face and drain my groom's energy away!"
"DISCORD?!"
Well, there goes his cover.... Guess there was no point in keeping up the act anymore....
"Well I guess the cats out of the bag. Or in this case, the Draconequus is out of the pony."
Discord had longing to be in his true form ever since he turned into that pretty pony princess, so it was nice to finally stretch his legs and stand up straight again.
As he removed his disguise, he cackled evilly as the ponies cowered before him.
He figured he would just have to stall for time...
"You madam, are correct! For your fiance shares blood with one of the six bearers of the elements of harmony, making him able to cancel my power. I stole your form so I could get close enough to RIP THE HARMONY RIGHT OUT OF HIM, allowing Canterlot to be consumed by countless chaos! Hah ha!"
"I won't let you! I'll save Shining Armor!"
"Oh, I wouldn't do that if I were you. Not unless you want to go back to the caverns, WITH NO FOOD OR WATER."
As Cadance stepped back in fear, Discord knew he was bluffing.
He was just too reckless to put her down there without food or water before, if he had stopped to think things through he would have given her something to digest.
He may be chaos incarnate, but he wasn't heartless.
"Ever since I pulled the switcheroo, I've been Discording the captain to be a weak, pathetic klutz, somepony who is INCAPABLE of protecting a capital!"
"NO!"
"And, once Canterlot has gone crazy, all of Equestria will turn on it's head! Hah ha ha!"
"NO. You won't."
Discord seethed under his breath, as he finally didn't have to treat that pompous princess as his auntie anymore.
"Get the elements! I'll hold him off as long as I can!"
He knew that was going to put a wrench into everything, he needed that barrier to break right away.
"You really think you can beat me on your own Celly? Without your precious Lu-Lu to protect you?"
"I don't need help to take you down now! You might have made it impossible for Shining Armor to perform his spell, but now that you have foolishly revealed your true self, I can protect my subjects, from YOU!"
As Celestia fired a beam from her horn, Discord fired back from his fingertips.
However, because the chaos cancelling spell was still in effect, Celestia actually had a chance at winning.
Discord could feel the grip of the sun getting closer to his body, as he desperately tried to push it away, as Celestia stared without remorse.
However, Shining Armor became so scared that he had turned completely grey, causing the shield to collapse.
Discord could feel the weight of the sun being lifted from his shoulders, as his magic begun to reach Celestia.
As she watched with shock and horror, the chaos magic struck her in a blast of confetti, which was deadly enough to knock her into the floor weakened.
Everypony gasped as they witnessed their beloved leader fall to the lord of chaos.
Discord could feel his unrivaled powers return to him.
Then, with wicked glee, unleashed it upon Canterlot.
As several ponies tried to flee the scene, Discord had caught Cadance trying to snap Shining Armor out of his spell.
"And what do you think you're doing?" Discord taunted, as he lifted Cadance off the ground and placed her hooves into sticky cotton candy.
He then placed Celestia in a prison made of cotton candy while she was unconscious.
"Now, to deal with those pesky elements......" Discord murmured, as he set up a block designed to keep out the ponies from reaching them.......
Chapter 8. The bigger they are
Discord waited patiently as he paced around the room, waiting for the mane six to fall to his chaos.
"You won't get away with this! Twilight and her friends will-"
They burst into the room flowing through a dispersing wave of chocolate milk, as Discord stared at her sly as ever.
"No no, please go on. I simply NEED to hear what you were going to say."
Cadance could only stare in contempt.
"Suit yourself. And as for you six, did you really think that you could just 'do do do do do' up there, and get the elements just like that? Hysterical! Though I am impressed how well you managed to work together after Twilight's little......... episode....... Who would have thought that all I needed to make the elements powerless was a pony her friends knew nothing about while she knew very well?... Hah ha ha ha ha!"
"Sorry Twi, we should have listened to you."
"It's not your fault, he fooled everypony."
'Heh, I did, didn't I?' Discord overheard their futile apologies, as he gazed out the window to admire his handy work.
"This day has been just perfect, the kind of day of which I dreamed since I was small... Everypony I'll soon control, every stallion, mare, and foal. Who says chaos is really doomed to fall?! Hah ha ha ha ha!" Discord laughed in triumph, as he manifested a glass in front of a cotton candy cloud that poured chocolate milk.
"Chaos, is a wonderful, WONDERFUL thing."
Discord was about to take a sip of the chocolate milk, until he heard a zap of magic from behind him.....
"What happened?...... Is the wedding over?........."
"It's ALL over!"
These ponies still thought they could beat him? What a joke! She may have broken his spell but they can't stop what's already happened!
"Perform your spell!"
"Hah ha ha ha! Why even bother?! I've already won! See? SEE?!"
They looked as they saw several ponies fighting or being pelted with popcorn falling from the sky, it was complete disharmony.
"No!"
Shining Armor tried to repel it, but it was no use.
"My power is almost... useless..."
"My love will give you strength."
"Bah! What an adorable yet REPULSIVE idea..."
These ponies truly thought the power of love could defeat the lord of chaos?! How sickening...
The only power that could truly defeat a being like him is the elements of harmony, and he made sure that they were out of the picture. Truly nothing could stop him now!
Until... He felt something glowing behind him, what was going on back there?...
Discord turned around, and his jaw literally dropped to the floor as he saw the bride and groom floating in midair while forming a heart.
What the Tartarus were they doing? Why was it getting brighter?!
The bride and groom unleashed a wave of love that surrounded all of Canterlot.
"What the-?! Not again! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Discord could feel himself being turned to stone once again, he begged and screamed for it to stop, but it was no use.
Eventually, his head was incased in stone with the rest of his body, as he laid still, once again trapped, unable to move and do the one thing he exists for...
As Discord stood still unable to move a muscle, he saw Twilight rushing over to her precious princess to help her up.
"I'm so sorry..."
"You have nothing to apologize for, I was too shortsighted to notice the signs of Discord's trickery..... I should have put more faith in my faithful student..."
'Eww! Barf! gross!' Discord would have thrown up if all his insides weren't frozen solid, first they defeat him with the power of love, and now they have to rub it in his face?!
"Now, without further ado, you have a real wedding to put together."
Discord groaned to himself in frustration, as he felt himself being carried by an escort of guards back to the Canterlot sculpture garden...
