Author's Note

So, I know that Spike and Twilight's lost connection has a similar concept, but this one will be more similar to another story that seems to be missing. Called Spike snuggles everyone. Do you guys remember that story? Well, I'm combining that story with the episode "What about Discord?"

Twilight, so bright

In the peaceful land of Equestria, ponys and other creatures live together in peace and harmony. And among all those living in Equestria, Friendship is treasured above highly valued among the creatures who live in the land. And Equestria is ruled by four princesses who valued friendship more then anything.

One of those princesses, Twilight sparkle, used to see friendship as unnecessary. But even when she would study alone in her tower, there was at least one companion that was always by her side.

Spike. The young dragon, who she hatched from a egg herself, had trained to become her number one assistant at the age of eight. Since then, he and Twilight had been inseparable.

By the time he was twelve and she was sixteen, they had developed a bond that no pony could duplicate. While the normal study, eating, and occasional test would come about. But they also have other activities that they do together when study time is over.

"Twilight. Twilight~ hey Twilly." Spike kept calling her as she was absorbed in reading one of the books that laid in their dorm. He then poked her gently on her shoulder to get her attention and- "Yaaaaaah!"

Twilight jumped out of her chair, and fell on the floor. Scared from the poke her assistant gave. "Spike! What the hay?! I was in the middle of-"

"It's Friday night Twi! And you know what that means!"

Twilight looked at the clock on the wall and saw it was seven a clock. She then smiled as she said "I'll pop the popcorn and grab the grape soda, you get our blankets."

Twilight went to their private kitchen as she popped a bag of popcorn and two bottles of soda, while Spike grabbed their blankets. They sat down on the couch as Twilight opened a DVD case and put it in the player. They saw the TV show come to life as the both said "THE ULTIMATE SPIDER-MARE!"

Twilight may not look it, but she's a closet comic geek. Thanks to her older and younger brother, she became a comic book fan when she found a Spider-mare comic in Shining armor's room. She became hooked on comics ever since.

After bench watching Spider-mare, Spike then asked Twilight, "Want some of my special Smores Twi?"

Twilight smiled as she licked her lips as she said "Must you ask? Mmmm! I love your smores!"

Spike then got some marshmallows, cooked them with his fire breath to a golden brown, put some chocolate on the gram crackers, and sprinkle some cereal in the marshmallow.

Twilight smiled as Spike gave her one of his signature "Dragon smores", as she called them, and her mouth melted into a smile. "Mmmmmm~ Spike, this might be one of your best batches yet!"

Spike gave a cheeky smile as he said "Thanks Twi! I've wanted to use fruity flacks so they could look like gems a dragon would eat."

Twilight giggled as she said "You know what's great with smores? Sparkles special hot chocolate!"

Spike waged his tail as the thought of tasting the special hot chocolate on his tongue as he said "Mmmm~ I would love some! Come you make us some Twi? Please?"

Twilight's heart melted as she saw Spike's eyes, wanting for some of her family's special hot chocolate. She mixed the milk with a pack of her family's special chocolate blend and heated the mixture with a weak fire spell she had.

They enjoyed their hot coco while reading one of Twilight's storybooks on Equestrian legends. While Spike loved comics, he also loved reading about the legends of Equestria. About all the adventures the heroes had, to even how times had changed from then and now.

While Spike snuggled next to Twilight, he began to hum a tune that was in his mind. Twilight began to hear the melody he was playing, smiled at the small dragon, and said, "Spike, are you humming what i think your humming?"

Spike nodded and said, "Yep. "Beauty and the beast. " Spike then gave a sad smile and said "I can honestly relate to the beast in the story...since most ponys in cantrlot think I'm a-"

Twilight grabbed him with her magic and hugged the little Dragon tight, as she said "Spike, I don't see you as a beast. Your my little brother, my best friend. Besides, those snobs in the cantrlot elite don't know how special you really are."

Spike smiled, knowing her big sister is trying to comfort him. But was glad to hear her say that. However, another looming thought crossed his mind. "Twilight? You'll be going back to school next week, right?"

"Yep. I'll be in a new school with higher difficulty of learning. But that makes the challenge of learning more fun!" Twilight said, clearly excited about the new semester of her classes.

"Well..." Spike started nervously, not sure how to start this. "A-Are you still gonna need me? Like, your not gonna get a better young dragon that's smarter, stronger, and knows what's in those books...are you?"

Twilight then gave the young dragon a confused look and asked "What? Spike, what are-"

"And...what if you start making pony friends? You wouldn't want a baby dragon following you around embarrassing you." Spike began to break out into tears as he continued to said,"You'd want me to go away and never return, and I'd never get to see you again. I'll be all alone, with no friends. PLEASE DON'T MAKE PONY FRIENDS TWILIGHT!"

Twilight at this point had her eyes tilled down, hiding in her bangs. She then softly spoke and said "Spike..." She then revealed her eyes, wet from her tears and said "Your talking about the impossible! I would NEVER replace you! And if anypony tried to take you away, they would have to go though me! NOPONY is gonna take you away from me!"

Spike smiled softy as Twilight continued to say "And as far as "Making pony friends" is concerned, I don't have time for that. There's new things to learn and study. Besides, I already have the best friend/ number one assistant ever! NOPONY can ever replace you Spike."

Spike smiled and hugged Twilight tightly as she returned the embrace. Still worried about him, Twilight then said "Spike, do you wanna sleep in my bed tonight?"

Spike nodded as the two of them climbed into bed, turned off the light, and snuggled in each other's warm embrace. Spike felt happy that Twilight wanted him, and felt that nothing could tear them a part.

However, not everything is set in stone, as this young dragon learns to make connections with others. While the unicorn is remained to cherish her oldest connection. Even after years later.
