Prologue
Prologue: The Ashes of Yesterday
Ethan wiped the sweat from his forehead, the summer sun beating down on the open fields of his family’s farm. The scent of tilled soil mixed with the mechanical hum of the old irrigation system as he crouched beside it, prying off a rusted panel. Inside, a mess of wiring and corroded connectors awaited him—nothing he hadn’t seen before.
His father’s voice called from the porch, warm and proud. "You get that thing running again, kiddo?"
His mother laughed from the doorway, drying her hands on a rag. “At this rate, you’ll be fixing the whole farm by yourself.”
His father chuckled. “Wouldn’t be surprised. Kid’s got hands like a damn mechanic.”
Ethan grinned, reconnecting a loose wire. The system sputtered, coughed, and then roared to life, spraying water over the parched earth. He turned back, grinning at his father’s approving nod. Moments like this made all the hard work worth it.
He never imagined how quickly everything would be taken away.
A low hum vibrated through the ground beneath him. The air felt charged, thick, unnatural. Then, the sky erupted into fire and smoke.
The ground trembled beneath his feet as alarms blared from the family’s reactor unit. Ethan ran, heart hammering against his ribs as he reached the main facility. His parents were inside.
By the time he got there, flames had already consumed half the structure. His father’s voice barely carried over the roaring inferno. "Ethan! Get back!"
He never saw them again.
His uncle found him days later, barely conscious, covered in ash, and clutching the broken remains of a security drone that had dragged him to safety. The official report ruled it an accident, but whispers in the trade lanes told a different story—sabotage, engineered by a rival family. Ethan didn’t know if it was true, but the possibility burned inside him.
His uncle took him in, raising him aboard his salvage vessel. The pain never faded, but in time, he found purpose—learning to repair ships, pilot vessels, and tinker with electronics. His greatest creation, Vega, started as nothing more than a predictive diagnostics tool, something to keep his hands busy in the quiet of space.
Then the pirates came.
The attack was swift, brutal. His uncle’s ship was outnumbered, outgunned. Ethan barely had time to react before his uncle shoved him into an escape pod, sealing the hatch.
"Live, Ethan. Don’t let this be the end of your story."
Then he was gone.
Ethan slammed his fists against the escape pod’s controls. "No! Let me out!"
The thrusters fired, forcing him back into his seat. Through the viewport, his uncle’s ship vanished into the void, engulfed in weapons fire. Then, silence.
For weeks, Ethan drifted. Alone. Surviving on rations and salvaging what little he could from derelict ships.
Then he found her.
At first, he thought it was just another wreck, a husk lost to the void. But then—faintly—a flicker of red emergency lights pulsed from within, like a dying heartbeat. She wasn’t dead. Not yet.
The Astraforge was a ghost, floating lifeless in the dark. Abandoned, damaged, but not beyond saving. He claimed it under salvage rights, spending years rebuilding it, making it his home, his sanctuary.
But no matter how much he fixed, no matter how many systems he brought back online, there was one thing he could never restore.
The past.
Present Day
Ethan’s eyes shot open, breath coming fast. The nightmare again. It always started the same. It always ended the same.
He exhaled slowly, sitting up in his bunk aboard the Astraforge. The quiet hum of the ship’s systems surrounded him, a stark contrast to the chaos of his memories.
He wasn’t that helpless kid anymore.
Swinging his legs over the side of the bed, he stood, stretching. The past was done. Right now, he had work to do.
And this time, if the universe tried to take something from him—he’d take it back.

A Rude Awakening
The golden hues of dawn stretched across Ponyville, casting soft light over the waking town. The air was crisp, and the streets were still quiet, save for the occasional early riser beginning their morning routine. Bakers were prepping their ovens, shopkeepers were unlocking doors, and pegasi were lazily clearing the last remnants of scattered clouds from the previous night.
Then, the peace was shattered.
A deep, thunderous boom rolled across the town, shaking windows and rattling rooftops. The ground trembled faintly beneath their hooves. A distant but powerful shockwave rolled through the town, rattling windows and sending a few roof tiles clattering to the streets. Birds scattered from the rooftops in a frenzy, their instincts warning them of danger before anypony could process what was happening. Ponies jolted awake, scrambling outside in confusion. Gasps and startled shouts filled the air as they looked toward the sky, where streaks of fire cut through the breaking dawn.
Rainbow Dash shot into the air, eyes wide. "Whoa! Whatever it is, it’s coming in fast!"
Applejack adjusted her hat, frowning at the sight. "What in tarnation was that? Somepony tell me I ain’t the only one who heard that!"
Around them, ponies scrambled out of their homes, eyes wide with panic. Some clutched their loved ones, while others galloped toward the town square for answers. A few pegasi took to the sky, but their flight wavered as the shockwave’s turbulence made the air unpredictable.
Twilight Sparkle materialized on the rooftop of Town Hall with a flash of teleportation, her eyes narrowing as she tracked the incoming objects. This wasn’t normal. She summoned a pair of binoculars and peered through them, focusing on the falling debris. The shapes weren’t jagged chunks of rock like a meteor shower—there were straight edges, metallic glints , and objects tumbling in a way that didn’t match natural space debris.
Her gut twisted. "This isn’t a normal meteor shower… The way they’re moving—it’s not natural! We need to send word to Princess Celestia—this isn’t just debris. Have Spike write a message and tell the guards to monitor Canterlot’s skies!"
"Uhh... anypony else see that?" Pinkie Pie’s voice broke the silence as she pointed a hoof toward the horizon.
Twilight followed her gaze. Behind the falling debris, a much larger shape loomed, barely visible through the morning haze. It wasn’t tumbling like the others—it was descending. It burned with streaks of red and orange, its descent slower than the rest, but no less concerning.
A sense of unease settled over Twilight as she lowered the binoculars. Whatever was coming… it wasn’t just falling. It was arriving.
Across the Countryside
Far from Ponyville, other fragments of the derelict streaked across the sky, creating a chaotic spectacle of fire and smoke. Villages and towns across the land paused as ponies looked up, their expressions a mix of awe and terror. Some fragments burned up in the atmosphere, but others came crashing down, each one bringing destruction and panic in its wake.
The quiet morning shattered as an ear-splitting explosion ripped through Hoofington’s outskirts. A fragment the size of a barn plowed into the earth, kicking up a blinding storm of dust and fire. The ground buckled from the force, splitting cobblestone roads and sending ponies tumbling from their hooves. Windows exploded outward, glass shards raining down as terrified screams filled the air. A group of foals playing near the fields was narrowly missed by a chunk of debris, their parents rushing to drag them to safety. Fortunately, no lives were lost, but several ponies were left with cuts and bruises from flying glass and falling rubble.
In the rocky hills near Baltimare, a fiery object streaked through the sky before slamming into a mountainside with a deafening crack. The entire slope shuddered from the force of the impact, sending a cascade of boulders and loose earth tumbling down. Nearby hikers shouted in alarm as the ground trembled beneath their hooves. One pony barely managed to leap onto stable ground before an avalanche of rock buried the path behind her. A thick cloud of dust erupted into the air, swallowing the valley in choking darkness. Ponies coughed and stumbled, their voices lost in the chaos as smaller aftershocks rattled the cliffs.
Miles away, in the heart of Baltimare, ponies looked toward the hills as a dull rumble echoed through the city. The skyline trembled ever so slightly, sending ripples through glasses of water on café tables. From the harbor, sailors pointed toward the rising plume of dust, their voices filled with uncertainty. Something had hit the cliffs—something big.
The water surged violently as the massive shard plunged into the harbor. Dockworkers shouted as a tidal wave crashed over the pier, throwing cargo crates into the streets. A stallion barely managed to grab onto a mooring post as his fishing boat was swept away. Alarm bells rang across the port as emergency responders rushed to assess the damage. While the fragment sank beneath the surface, the resulting ripples left the harbor in disarray.
Back near Ponyville, another fiery streak blazed across the sky, drawing gasps from ponies still reeling from the first impact. The second fragment landed in the Everfree Forest with a resounding crash, the trees quaking under the force of the impact. Deep within the Everfree, the impact sent a shockwave rippling through the ancient trees. Birds took flight in a chaotic swarm, their shrieks piercing the unnatural silence that followed. The usual hum of forest life—buzzing insects, rustling leaves—had vanished. Something had changed. Something… was watching.
Across Equestria, the sky continued to burn. The ground trembled in scattered locations, and the air carried a sense of something… wrong. Even in places untouched by falling debris, ponies felt it—a lingering unease, a sense that something had changed.
Far beyond the horizon, the last of the falling debris had settled, but the damage had been done. Across Equestria, fear had taken root. From Hoofington to Manehattan, from the Everfree to the farthest reaches of the kingdom, one thought echoed in everypony’s mind:
What had just fallen from the sky? And… was it truly gone?
The Falling Titan
The golden morning sky was already burning with scattered fireballs from the earlier impacts, but now, something much larger was descending. A deep, guttural roar filled the air, vibrating through the very ground beneath Ponyville’s streets. Ponies froze, their gazes locked skyward as an enormous shape streaked through the atmosphere, leaving behind a billowing contrail of fire and smoke.
Unlike the smaller fragments, this one wasn’t tumbling—it was fighting against gravity.
Wind howled through the town, kicking up dust and sending banners ripping from their posts. Market stalls overturned as startled ponies stumbled, shielding their eyes from the blinding streak of orange and red. A blast of hot air rushed through the streets, pressing against their chests like an unseen force.
Rainbow Dash, still hovering above, could only stare. "That’s... not a meteor. That’s a ship!"
Twilight’s heart pounded as she watched the massive object hurtling toward the Everfree Forest. "It’s too controlled for a simple crash—whoever or whatever’s aboard is trying to slow it down!"
A sharp boom cracked through the sky as parts of the burning ship broke away, trailing behind like dying embers. The ship itself remained intact—barely. Its engines flickered violently, struggling to keep control, but the force of reentry was too great. The burning craft veered, its angle steepening as it tore toward the treetops.
Then—impact.
A massive shockwave rippled outward as the ship plowed through the Everfree, carving a deep, jagged scar into the land. Trees snapped like twigs, birds and creatures scattered in terrified shrieks, and the very ground trembled beneath Ponyville’s hooves. A thunderous roar followed, rolling over the town in waves, shaking windows and rattling doors.
Ponies huddled together, shielding themselves from the aftershock. Dust and loose debris filled the streets as silence finally settled, broken only by the faint crackling of distant flames.
Twilight lowered her binoculars, her mind racing. "We need to move. Now."
The air in Ponyville was thick with dust, the remnants of the nearby crash still settling. Ponies coughed as the dust settled, their coats streaked with fine gray powder. A foal cried somewhere in the distance, the muffled sobs lost beneath the murmurs of disbelief and fear. Shopkeepers surveyed broken windows, while pegasi hovered above, scanning for any more incoming threats.
Twilight Sparkle stood at the edge of town, her gaze fixed on the faint plume of smoke rising from the outskirts. Around her, ponies cautiously emerged from their shelters, their expressions a mix of fear and curiosity. Steeling herself, Twilight ignited her horn and sent a bright flare of magenta light high into the sky—a signal to the rest of the Mane Six to meet at her location immediately. Wherever they were, they’d see it. She hoped Fluttershy was safe, given her proximity to the impact zone.
"We need to move quickly," Twilight muttered to herself. "There’s no telling what we’ll find."
A few minutes passed before the others arrived, galloping toward her with urgency. Rarity, still catching her breath, brushed dust from her coat. "Twilight, what in Equestria is going on?"
"I’ll explain on the way," Twilight said firmly. "We need to secure that crash site. Whatever’s down there isn’t just debris—it’s a ship. Rainbow Dash, lead the way. Applejack, Rarity—help keep the townsponies calm and make sure nopony follows us too close. Pinkie, stay on high alert for anything unusual. Fluttershy—"
She hesitated, glancing toward the distant tree line where Fluttershy’s cottage stood. "She’s close to the impact zone. We’ll check on her first before moving in. We’ll need to skirt around the crash site to reach her, but she takes priority. Once we confirm she’s safe, we can assess the wreckage."
The group exchanged nods, acknowledging the plan. "Alright," Applejack said, adjusting her hat. "Me an’ Rarity will stay back an’ keep the townsfolk calm. Last thing we need is a bunch of curious ponies gettin’ too close to whatever that is."
"And I’ll be on the lookout for anything… unexpected!" Pinkie Pie chimed in, her usual cheer subdued by the seriousness of the moment.
Twilight gave a firm nod. "Good. Rainbow Dash, you’re with me. We’ll take flight and get to Fluttershy as fast as possible. Everypony else, stick to your tasks and meet us at the crash site once it’s safe." Without another word, Twilight and Rainbow Dash launched into the air, their wings beating against the rising dust as they raced toward the Everfree Forest and Fluttershy’s cottage.
As they soared over the wreckage, thick plumes of smoke and dust obscured much of the crash site below. Twilight squinted through the haze, catching glimpses of twisted metal and shattered trees. The ship—if it could still be called that—was a colossal ruin, its once sleek surface now jagged and broken. Fires still smoldered at various points, flickering like dying embers.
Rainbow Dash veered slightly lower, her sharp eyes scanning the devastation. "That thing is huge," she muttered. "And it doesn’t look like it crashed by accident—it was trying to land."
Twilight felt a shiver run down her spine. She had noticed the same thing. The gouges in the earth weren’t entirely chaotic; some sections looked like the ship had tried to slow itself, deliberately altering its descent. But why?
"We’ll figure it out soon enough," Twilight said. "Right now, we need to get to Fluttershy."
20 Minutes Earlier – Fluttershy’s Cottage
The soft glow of dawn peeked through the curtains of Fluttershy’s cottage, casting warm streaks of light across the wooden floor. Inside, the gentle rise and fall of the pegasus’s breathing was the only sound, the quiet stillness of the morning undisturbed.
Then, a distant rumble rolled through the ground.
Fluttershy’s ears twitched. Her brows furrowed slightly as she shifted in her sleep. Another, stronger tremor shook her bed frame. Her eyes fluttered open, groggy confusion overtaking her as she lifted her head. "Mmm… what was that?"
A second later, a powerful boom cracked through the air, shaking the very walls of her home. Startled yelps filled the cottage as birds, squirrels, and other critters bolted awake in a panic. Angel Bunny launched himself onto Fluttershy’s chest, fur bristling as he tugged insistently at her mane.
"W-what’s happening?" she stammered, scrambling to her hooves. She stumbled toward the window and pushed it open, eyes widening in alarm. Across the sky, streaks of fire and smoke cut through the dawn, trailing behind what looked like—
She gasped. "Meteors?" But no… these weren’t just burning rocks. Some of them were shaped, with unnatural glints of metallic reflections flashing in the sunlight.
Angel thumped his foot furiously, gesturing toward the Everfree. Fluttershy followed his gaze, her breath hitching as she spotted a massive silhouette cutting through the atmosphere, much larger than the falling fragments around it.
Then came another blast—this one even closer.
A wave of force slammed into the cottage, rattling everything inside. Shelves shook, books tumbled to the floor, and outside, the forest groaned as a fiery object crashed into the trees nearby. The animals screeched in panic, rushing toward Fluttershy, crowding her hooves, desperate to flee.
Her pulse pounded. This wasn’t just a normal meteor shower. Something terrible was happening.
"I… I have to warn Twilight!"
Fluttershy barely had time to take a step before another deep, guttural roar tore through the sky. She flinched, her wings snapping tight against her sides as a monstrous shadow loomed overhead. The massive object—no, the ship —was no longer just falling. It was coming down fast, and directly toward her.
Her breath caught. The Astraforge wasn’t just crashing—it was sliding, carving a fiery scar across the Everfree. The sheer force of its descent sent a tidal wave of uprooted earth and debris surging forward like a landslide, heading straight for her cottage.
Fluttershy shrieked, stumbling back as the ground trembled beneath her hooves. "No, no, no—!" She turned to run, but there was nowhere to go. The shockwave slammed into her home like a cannon blast. She was flung off her hooves, landing hard against the wooden floor as windows shattered and shelves collapsed around her. The walls groaned, the very foundation trembling as a thick cloud of dust and debris crashed over everything.
For a terrifying moment, she lay still, coughing through the choking dust, heart pounding in her chest. Was her home still standing? Was she buried?
Slowly, she pushed herself up, blinking through the haze. The weight of the dirt against the walls pressed inward, but the structure—miraculously—hadn’t collapsed. The ship’s impact had been perpendicular to her home, sparing it from a direct hit, but the massive wave of earth had still half-buried it.
Fluttershy swallowed hard, her ears ringing. Angel Bunny tugged at her mane insistently, his wide eyes filled with panic.
"O-okay… okay… I’m alright," she whispered, forcing herself to her hooves. She turned to her frightened animals. "I need to get us out of here… but how?"
She took a deep breath, steadying herself as she looked around. The entrance was blocked, the windows buried under layers of dirt and debris. But there had to be a way out. Her gaze flickered to the burrowing animals—rabbits, moles, even some badgers who had sought shelter in her home. If any creature could dig a way out, it was them.
"Angel, help me get everypony organized," she said, her voice growing steadier. The white rabbit nodded sharply and started directing the other animals. "Everyone who can dig, start clearing a path! Look for the easiest way out—maybe near the kitchen wall or under the back window!"
The animals hesitated for only a moment before scrambling into action. Small paws and claws went to work, dirt flying as they began tunneling through the loose soil. Fluttershy crouched low, shielding a few of the smaller critters as she tried to keep them calm. "We’ll be alright," she murmured, more to reassure herself than them. "We just have to keep moving…"
Present Time – Fluttershy’s Cottage
Twilight and Rainbow Dash crested the last hill, their wings beating against the lingering dust in the air. As they approached, their hearts sank at the sight before them.
Fluttershy’s cottage was barely recognizable. A massive wave of displaced earth had half-buried the structure, leaving only the roof and upper windows visible above the dirt. The surrounding area was littered with broken branches, scattered debris, and frightened animals huddled in small groups.
Rainbow Dash hovered lower, eyes wide. "Sweet Celestia… it’s buried!"
Twilight landed hard, kicking up dust as she rushed forward. "Fluttershy?! Are you in there?!" she called, lighting her horn in an attempt to scan for any sign of movement inside.
The frightened animals outside began chittering and squeaking, scratching at a particular section of dirt near the cottage’s base. Twilight’s horn pulsed as she honed in on their signals—there was movement inside.
"She’s in there!" Twilight confirmed, relief flooding her voice. "And she’s close to getting out—something’s already been digging."
Rainbow Dash wasted no time. "Then let’s help them finish the job!" She shot toward the indicated area, using her hooves to kick away the looser dirt. Twilight joined in, magically lifting clumps of soil, careful not to cause a collapse. The animals inside must have been working for a while; a narrow gap had already formed, revealing tiny flickers of movement within.
A moment later, a pair of paws broke through the dirt, followed by frantic digging from the other side. Twilight’s heart leapt as Fluttershy’s dirt-streaked face appeared through the gap, coughing but very much alive.
"Fluttershy!" Rainbow Dash exclaimed. "You okay?!"
Fluttershy nodded weakly, still catching her breath. "W-we’re almost out! The animals… they did most of the work!" she said hoarsely.
"Then let’s finish it!" Twilight said, redoubling her efforts. With one final magical pull, the opening widened enough for Fluttershy and the last of the smaller animals to scramble out. As soon as she was free, Rainbow Dash grabbed her in a tight hug before pulling back to look her over.
"You’re not hurt, are you?"
Fluttershy shook her head, though her legs wobbled from exhaustion. "I… I think I’m okay. But my home…" she turned, eyes widening at the state of the cottage—half-buried, barely standing.
Twilight put a hoof on her shoulder. "We’ll deal with that later. Right now, we need to regroup with the others. Come on, let’s get you out of here."
Along the Path Back to Ponyville
The trio moved cautiously along the winding path, skirting the worst of the wreckage as they made their way around the crash site. Smoke and dust still hung thick in the air, obscuring much of the destruction, but even through the haze, glimpses of twisted metal and scorched trees painted a grim picture.
Rainbow Dash flew ahead slightly, scanning for any sign of movement. "I still can’t believe it… That thing is massive . And it definitely wasn’t just falling—it was trying to land."
Twilight nodded grimly, her mind racing with possibilities. "The impact was controlled, but why here? Did something go wrong at the last second, or was this its intended destination?"
Fluttershy remained quiet, still shaken from her ordeal. The sound of rustling leaves and distant crackling flames filled the otherwise silent forest. The Everfree had been changed by the crash—its usual eerie hum was now replaced with a feeling of unnatural stillness.
As they rounded a bend in the path, movement ahead caught their attention. The rest of the Mane Six emerged from the forest, trotting quickly toward them.
"There y’all are!" Applejack called out, relief evident in her voice. "We were just about to start searching for ya."
Rarity’s eyes widened as she took in Fluttershy’s dirt-streaked coat and weary expression. "Darling, are you alright?!"
"I… I’m okay," Fluttershy assured them softly. "My home is—well, it’s in trouble, but… the animals and I got out."
Twilight exhaled, nodding as they came to a stop. "Good. Now that we’re all together, we need to decide our next move. Whatever’s in that wreckage, it might have answers—and I don’t think we’re the only ones who’ll come looking for them."
Into the Unknown
With a shared glance, the Mane Six turned toward the towering wreckage. The closer they got, the more daunting it became. The ship’s outer plating was scorched and torn, its once-pristine surface now marred by deep gashes and ruptured seams. Twisted beams jutted out at odd angles, and the metallic scent of burnt wiring and melted alloy lingered in the air.
"Alright, stick together and watch your step," Twilight cautioned. "We don’t know what we’re walking into."
They reached a gaping rupture in the ship’s hull—an entry point big enough for them to walk through, though jagged metal lined its edges like teeth. A faint hum of energy pulsed from within, barely audible over the occasional creak of settling metal.
Rainbow Dash was the first to step forward, peering inside. "Looks like a hallway or something. Not totally wrecked either—some of the lights are still on."
Twilight lit her horn, casting a soft glow ahead as she stepped cautiously inside. "Stay close."
One by one, they entered. The temperature dropped noticeably the moment they crossed the threshold. Dim emergency lighting flickered along the walls, casting long shadows. The corridor ahead stretched into darkness, lined with panels of unreadable symbols and shattered screens. The ship’s interior was eerily silent, save for the faint crackling of exposed wiring and the occasional distant clang that echoed from somewhere deeper inside.
Rarity shivered. "I don’t like this."
"Nopony does," Applejack muttered, keeping a wary eye on their surroundings. "But we’re here now, so let’s get movin’."
As they pressed forward, Twilight’s mind raced. Who built this ship? Was anyone—or anything—still aboard? The answers lay ahead, waiting in the cold silence of the derelict vessel.
The corridor stretched onward, lined with locked doors on either side. Some bore scorch marks, others had deep gouges in the metal as if something had tried to force them open. Twilight tested one with her magic, but it refused to budge. "Locked," she muttered, frowning. "Whatever’s behind these doors, it’s either secured or damaged."
Rainbow Dash gave one of the doors a rough shove, but it didn’t so much as rattle. "Figures," she huffed. "So, what now?"
Before Twilight could answer, the corridor ended at a junction where a stairwell descended into darkness and ascended toward what looked like another level of the ship. The group came to a halt, exchanging uncertain glances.
"Well… up or down?" Applejack asked, tilting her hat back. "If we’re lookin’ for answers, where do we start?"
"Lower decks might have engineering or storage," Twilight reasoned, glancing toward the downward stairwell. "But heading up could lead to the bridge, or at least somewhere with access to ship logs."
Pinkie Pie tilted her head, ears twitching. "I say up! Less creepy down that way."
"That ain't exactly scientific reasoning," Applejack muttered.
"Maybe not, but she’s got a point," Rarity added, eyeing the shadowy descent with distaste. "If there’s still power, we might have better luck up top."
Twilight nodded, making her decision. "Alright. Let’s head up first. Stay close."
The group ascended cautiously, their hooves clanking against the metal steps. The stairwell was narrow, flanked by walls covered in strange markings, some glowing faintly with residual power. Twilight led the way, her horn casting a soft glow to supplement the dim emergency lights overhead.
As they reached the next level, the space opened into a wide corridor lined with doors—each marked with unreadable symbols. Some were slightly ajar, revealing glimpses of barrack-style rooms, complete with built-in bunks and storage compartments. Others remained sealed tight, their mechanisms inactive.
"This must be a crew area," Twilight observed, stepping into one of the open rooms. The walls were lined with compartments, likely personal storage, though most had been emptied or disturbed. A few broken datapads and strange personal effects littered the floor, coated in dust.

Applejack whistled. "That’s mighty impressive. Almost like havin’ a whole crew without the extra mouths to feed."
"More like a bunch of toddlers with power tools," Ethan muttered. "If I don’t keep an eye on them, they’ll dismantle something I actually need."
Rainbow Dash snickered. "Sounds like you’re babysitting a bunch of overgrown magic golems."

Ethan chuckled, shaking his head. "It’s more complicated than that. "Acknowledged," VEGA responded. "Launching probes now. Estimated time until full stellar mapping is completed: approximately six hours. Data will be compiled and transmitted as soon as sufficient readings are obtained."
Luna’s ears perked slightly. "You are attempting to locate your original point of origin?"
Ethan nodded. "Yeah. If I can figure out where I am, I might have a chance at figuring out how I got here—and maybe even a way back. Not that I’m in a hurry to leave just yet, but it’s good to have options."
Celestia studied him for a moment. "And if you cannot return?"
Ethan exhaled, running a hand through his hair. "Then I start thinking long-term. But I’ll cross that bridge when I get to it. For now, getting my ship operational is priority one."
