"Pinkie, are you in here" yelled the nervous purple mare. Her voice echoed off the walls and fell upon deaf ears. Sugarcube corner was usually a place of sunshine and smiles, but not these days, no. As the lavender mare trekked through the almost deserted bakery, feelings of dread hung on her heart. Unease took hold of her brain,
"I can't believe this, first Rainbow and now Pinkie, could things get any worse?" Said the frightened unicorn.
Her frantic eyes were pacing all around from the dark scenery, wallpaper was peeling off the walls, furniture and tables were upturned and were broken, just as if a small struggle had broken out beforehand.
Twilight, as the lavender mare was known, began her search in the kitchen. Feeling restlessness coursing throughout her being, Twilight found the normal everyday kitchen items pots, pans, ovens, the usual for Sugarcube Corner. She levitated one of the spoons closer to inspect it. Carefully she twirled it all around and noticed the red substance that graced the face of the utensil. She pulled it closer to her face to get a better glimpse, that was not working. "Where is a light switch in this place?" Twilight wondered.
Truth be told inside Twilight was blind as a bat. she had just been following the smell of rotten flour, and the heat that was coming from ovens that have been on for way past their due. Twilight fumbled around feeling the walls for a small bump that would grant her sight. After a few minutes of searching Twilight finally found something that resembled a light switch and flicked it on
"Ahh now that's better" Twilight said as light returned to the somber confectionery. "Now to observe the strange substance on this spoon" Twilight exclaimed as she lifted the spoon back to eyesight. Having a better view Twilight was easily able to determine the stuff that covered the spoon... Sadly
"Blood...it's....Blood" Twilight whispered as she just stood there dumbfounded. First the tables and chairs in a wreck now there was this bloody spoon. Twilight by now was extremely cautious, she knew something horrible had happened here, but she was unsure what.
Thump
Twilight's ears perked up as she heard an unknown noise coming from out of the kitchen. Slowly she made her way out to investigate where the noise originated, but she was a clever Unicorn, she quickly grabbed a rolling pin using her levitation being prepared for anything that was out there.
Thump
This time Twilight listened closely to where the noise came from, but she did notice that the noise was slightly louder.
Thump
Slightly louder this time and it appeared to be coming from all the corners in this screwed up bakery.
Thump
It was as if the noise was right above Twilight, or maybe her paranoia was getting the best of her. It did not matter though, combined with wrecked building, and the bloody kitchenware Twilight was convinced she would have to do something to protect herself.
Thump!
The noise came exactly to where Twilight was standing and dropped down on her scaring her out of her skin. She tried to fight off the thing that had taken her face, as she tumbled around the bakery.Until she fell right on the light switch causing the horrid place to become black once again.
"AAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!" Screamed Twilight as she tried to fight off what was attacking her face. Her hoofs were met with a sticky, gooey mess which confused her to no end. So she reached for the light switch with her sticky hooves hoping to find it soon.
Click
A sudden light filled Twilight's eyes again, temporarily blinding her. Once she regained her vision, she gasped at what was splattered on her face. It was pink, and smelled sweet, but it was as hard as a rock.On her face sat the remains of a cupcake. "Then what was making that noise?" Thought Twilight.
Thump
A familiar noise filled Twilight's ears as she looked to see the source of this nonsense. Her head tilted up and up till her eyes met the ceiling and she gasped at what she saw. The shattered remains of cupcakes, decorated the ceiling of Sugarcube Corner. Twilight also detected another color mixed in to the Pink and crumbled cake bits attached to the ceiling, a deep scarlet shade of red. "Blood...More Blood....."Twilight said raspily. This time Twilight wasn't as shocked but the sight of more blood quickly made her avert her sight back to the floor.
"Blood, broken furniture, and cupcakes on the ceiling... This is not making any sense" Twilight argued.
Ha.. HaHa..Ha
Before she could come to a conclusion about what in the hay happened to this place her train of thought was broken by a laugh ,like a small chuckle.
HaHa..Ha...Ha
It came again like an eerie whisper through a dense fog that shook Twilight to her core, but she heard exactly where the noise was coming from, the basement.
Twilight got up, dust the stale cupcakes off her, swallowed her fear, and opened the basement door. A powerful smell assaulted her upon opening, so much Twilight had to quickly close it to take a deep breath of air and ventured through to the other side.
Step by step, hoof by hoof Twilight carefully walked down the basement stairs. Unlike in the main room of Sugarcube, the basement had barely any lighting, and was intensely cold as to keep the many frozen goods from spoiling.
Ha....HaHa.....Ha
Twilight stopped in her tracks and listened, it was as if she had heard a familiar sound, it was a sound reminder of why she came here in the first place. She stopped and listened for the laugh again to make sure she was still in the right frame of mind.
HaHa...Ha....Ha
Soon a big grin formed on Twilight's face, she was sure she knew the pony that laugh belonged to. So with haste she ran down the stairs to find her lost friend "Oh Pinkie I'm so glad I foun-" Twilight stopped mid sentence and looked around the scene.
Hanging from the ceiling were ,what she assumed, dried entrails but they were hung as if they were some kind of decoration. Looking on the walls Twilight found a gruesome sight body parts nailed on the wall. Ranging from the head to a heart, even the spleen got some attention. Still they were put up as if it was some sick version of pin the tail on the pony. Finally she noticed right in front of her, in the middle of the room was a pile of ponies. They were not alive however, they just laid there stiff, and lifeless. Twilight's stomach couldn't take staring the gruesome pile of dead bodies that lie before her, so she looked of to the side.
HaHaHa...HaHa...Ha
Her eyes fell upon a small pink form at the right of her, rocking gently back and forth. Twilight moves towards the source of the laughter and makes a shocking discovery. The Pink form was still rocking, she had blood dripping from her straight mane, but what freaked Twilight out more was her outfit. On her dress were what she hoped were just replica patches of her friend's cutie marks, and adorned on her neck was a necklace that was clattering with Unicorn horns. However what the scariest part about the pink form was the blue feathers that formed a circle around her.
Twilight followed the trail of feathers, without taking her eyes of the rocking pink form, to find a horrifying revelation, the still body of a cerulean blue pegasus with a rainbow mane. Her stomach lurched upon the gruesome sight, but a small tear soon took her mind away from the incident, she walked back to the still rocking, laughing pink form. Twilight did not know how to handle this she was never expecting to deal with this type of situation.
"Pinkie....What have you done?" Twilight said with a lump in her throat to Pinkamena.
Twilight knew what had happened she just couldn't find it within herself to admit it was the truth.
