Start - Awaken to a Nightmare
You awake in a desolate land, fire spread across crumbled buildings and smoke in the air. A memory rushes to you, making your head throb in pain. You need to get up, you need to stand, to find your friends. As you slowly push to your hooves you look around, finding rubble, a single pathway, and hoofprints.
What do you do?

The object is covered in soot and dust from the rubble. You carefully lift it out of the rubble with your magic and gasp. You recognize it as the necklace a visiting pony wore. A golden band with a blue balloon shaped stone sits in the middle.
"if this is here...then that pony must be..." you look around frantically but find no sign of the pony the necklace belongs to. You place the necklace in your saddlebags and turn your attention back to the path and the hoofprints.

You begin digging through the rubble, wincing as your sore hooves collide with the hard rubble. As you continue sifting through the rubble around you something catches your eye, sparkling with the glow of the flames around you.
What do you do?

You leave the rubble and go back to follow the path. Maybe it will lead to safety. You begin walking down it, forcing one hoof in front of the other, pain shooting through your body with each hoofstep. All you can remember is something terrible hitting the town and the sounds of your friends screaming as they were all flung about in the storm.
The faded memory plays back in your mind as you walk down the path. You come to a stop, finding a building untouched by the carnage that has torn its way through the town. Its the mayors office, standing tall among the rubble and acrid smoke filling your lungs.

The Mayors Office: Entrance
You walk up to the door of the mayors office and knock on it gently. The door pushes open as your hoof hits it and you peek inside.
"Hello?" You call out, hearing a whimper in reply. You walk inside to find a group of ponies huddling against one another.
"GO AWAY! DON'T HURT US!" they scream at you. A pony comes around the corner and tackles you to the ground. You recognize it as the pink pony who was visiting with her friends. As she recognizes you she lets you up.
"Oh my gosh your ok! Don't worry little fillies, this pony is a good friend." She closes the door and makes sure to lock it this time. You sit up in shock as the pink pony has a seat near the fear filled fillies.
(Please don't say you've been somewhere or found something if you haven't. That ruins the fun of this.)

You ignore the object and head back to where you awoke. You look between the path and the hoofprints, trying to decide where to go next

"OH, I almost forgot" you reach into your saddlebag and pull out the balloon necklace. The pony gasps and grabs hold of it, placing it around her neck.
"I can't believe you found it!" she hugs you tightly.
"Thank you so much!" she squeals.
"uh...y...you're welcome." you chuckle, watching as she bounces around the office with the necklace, which seems to glow dimly.

"so...whats your name?" you ask with a small smile. The pony returns the smile with a sigh.
"I'm Pinkie Pie." a chill runs through your body as you hear the name, as if you'd heard it a thousand times before.
"The party pony of Equestria?" you ask. She nods, her mane bouncing around a bit.
"Yup, thats me. Though I don't really have much to party about lately..." she sighs and turns her attention back to the fillies huddled together.

You look around for a moment and turn your attention back to the pink pony
"Are there any other ponies here? some of my friends..." you stop as the memory hits you, fire everywhere, the sounds of your friends screams fill your head and tears make their way down your cheeks to the cold ground below. The pink pony pulls you into a hug.
"There are some ponies upstairs but I don't know if any of them are your friends." She says softly, letting you calm down before she lets go of you.
"t...thank you." she nods and heads into the kitchen, the smell of cupcakes fills your nose for a moment, bringing a smile to your face.

You leave the pink mare to tend to the scared fillies and begin to explore the mayors office. You see stairs leading up and stairs leading down. Inbetween them is a large door.

Hoofprints: Continue to Follow the Hoofprints
You turn your attention back to the hoofprints, following them down a path. The smoke is thicker in this area and as you reach the end of the hoofprints you realize why. In the center of a large circle, filled with jewels and many other things, is a massive red dragon.
You almost panic but realize the dragon is asleep. In its claws it holds a white unicorn who is doing everything in her power not to scream. You recognize her as one of the ponies who was passing through the town, around her neck is a strange golden necklace with a diamond shaped gem in its center.
What do you do?

You head for the edge of town and gasp as a dragon lands in front of you, a large grin on its face. You try to turn and run but the dragon scoops you up in its massive claws.
"it seems I missed one." the dragon throws its head back and laughs as you struggle, kicking your hooves against the inside of its claw. With a click of its thumb the dragon snaps your neck, ending your journey.

You head downstairs. Halfway down you see a thick green fog filling the basement. You assume it would be harmful to breath it in. You take a seat and think for a moment on what to do next.

You spot hoofprints and hope fills your heart. The prints might belong to one of your friends. With more energy than your body has you begin to follow them, forcing yourself to go slow so as not to disturb the hoofprints. As you follow them your hope begins to dwindle.
All around you is smoke and destruction, the fires having begun to fade away. You begin to spot ponies laying on their sides, some breathing, some not. The sight of one pony, burnt to a crisp, causes you to empty your stomach nearby. After recovering you look around at the ponies, almost certain you recognize some of them.

"Um...sorry but...Could you tell me what happened?" you ask, struggling with the words for a moment. Your throat feels extremely dry. The pink pony gives you a half smile and gives you a glass of water. You thank her and drink, chugging down the water. You sit there amazed for a moment at how amazing it tastes as it runs down your throat. She sighs and hangs her head.
"Well...my friends and I were suppose to be coming through here to speak with some dragons. It was suppose to be as simple as us going to them and sorting through a few problems they were having with local ponies. But...those big meany dragons tricked us. As soon as they knew we were here they attacked the entire town." The fillies curled up in a ball nearby. The pony sighed and pulled them into a hug.
"its ok now..." she says soothingly.

You go to the nearest pony, nudging them gently. The pony groans in pain and you sigh in relief. The pony is alive but badly wounded, their hind leg is twisted at a horrible angle, a piece of bone jutting out. You look around and find a piece of wood and sit beside the pony, doing your best to splint the leg, holding the wood with your magic carefully.
"This might hurt a bit." you say to the pony, they wince as you use your magic to slowly twist their leg back into place, gently pressing the bone back into position and placing the wood against their leg, tying it together with some rope you found nearby.
You lift the pony onto your back and begin checking the others, finding four other survivors, one of which is a unicorn like you. She is holding a baby dragon in her hooves, tears streaming down her face. The other survivors are gathered around a fire, some resting, others trying to cope with their current situation and looking around at the ruins around them.

Hoofprints: Look for Friends
You begin searching through the ponies to find your friends, ignoring the corpses. You refuse to believe you have lost any of them to this madness, though as your search goes on all you manage to find are more and more dead ponies. Finally you force yourself to check the corpses, finding a young light green pegasus on the ground, though his green coat is stained with blood. one of his wings is missing, a single bone jutting out of his back where the wing once sat.
The other is bent and badly burnt, it would be a miracle if the wing were ever to work again. You slowly move closer to the pegasus, amazed to find that they are still breathing, though you fear that moving him may cause him more pain or worse.

Explore the basement (No Protect)
You slowly step into the fog, coughing as it fills your nostrils and throat. Your vision becomes blurry though you can make out a figure not too far away. Bit by bit you stumble forward, struggling to put one hoof in front of the other. Everything seems to get darker and darker as you continue and the figure keeps moving further away.
You gasp and blink as you walk straight into a door. You fumble about in the darkness and open the door, stepping inside. Once inside all you find is a wall, its too dark to see anything more. You turn back around to head for the door, the floor creaking under your hooves.
"Thats strange...I thought this was all made out of stone..." you think aloud, examining the floor. You blow away some of the dust and blink as the door slams closed. You can hear several voices, all of them laughing. Suddenly the ground pulls out from under you and you feel yourself falling, screaming at the top of your lungs as you plunge to your death.
You hit the ground with a sickening thud, breaking both hind legs and your spine. You can do nothing but look in horror as several figures advance on you, all of them with rows upon rows of horrible jagged teeth. All of them slobbering and growling as they advance upon your helpless body.
You cough and choke, the fog filling your lungs as you scream for help. To your surprise the beasts back away as your cries fill the air. You feel a claw caress your cheek and whimper as you look up. Seeing a dull yellow coated pegasus with three butterflies for a cutiemark.
"Shhh. Sssoon you'll be one of usss." she whispers. Your eyes close and they never open again. At least, not as your own.
