Wow!

I'm nervous!

This is my first time writing a story here and I've had this idea in my head after reading several different stories. Although the present with Twilight and her friends won't be included at least until the end since this will be about the past starting with Luna's banishment.

I appreciate the comments and opinions, and if you find something incorrect like the writing or etc. I would appreciate it if you let me know.

Plus I speak Spanish so I'm not as familiar with English as I normally should be so seriously...seriously! I would appreciate it if you could tell me any errors you find.

Capitulo 1

Decay

Nothing is eternal… it is the most painful but most useful lesson I have had throughout my life and this has been a very long one…

Life is not eternal, objects are not eternal, relationships are not eternal… harmony is not eternal.

Whoever is reading this if Adagio has let you get this means two possible options.

Either she thought it would be fun to promote the image of divinity of the alicorns by giving them what would technically be a bible in every sense of the word.

Or I finally kicked the bucket and Adagio has given you my dear reader and ruler my reflections because my attempts at confederalized and democratized government have failed to the amusement of Chrysalis and to your and my disgrace.

If you are there on that extravagantly hideous throne full of gold and shiny stones it means that you have the necessary education that I myself have given you so that you can take the reins of power but you do not have the obvious experiences necessary for government, luckily for you I did this for that reason mainly.

Surely you have ever asked yourself…

“Your majesty, why me?"

"Can't it be someone else?"

"What if Chrysalis takes power?"

"Lord Commander Sombra takes power?"

"What if Princesses Celestia and Luna take power?"

Etc…

Well… those answers are very long if I am honest and this book will give you the answers you seek as well as answers to my own story… which is not as divine as the equine mind usually imagines and portrays.

Under my rule all equines from kirins to Changelings were unified in the Equestrian federation… laying the foundations of government in my person unfortunately. I am possibly not and as I have already said if you are reading this it means that you are in charge now.

In addition to giving you the answers to these previous questions, I will teach you everything you need to know about our history, culture, and government of the federation… and it will also be a good way to get all this out of my head, which Adagio insists on doing mainly because I need to de-stress.

I know it's a large tome, possibly as thick as a small chair, but in my defense it's at least 1000 years of history. However, I will summarize everything as precisely as possible, only when necessary. In addition, there will be parts that you may consider filler, but don't skip anything because even those parts are important.

Humorously, I have decided to call this book (Memories of hunger and fear) as a little joke on myself.

And so my dear reader is how Equestria was founded and I tell you a perfect disaster… Didn't you read anything?

Yes… look if Adagio didn't explain it to you I suppose that if you got this far I will have to explain it to you myself.

I have enchanted the pages mainly because I don't like people to look through my personal things but if you are the one and I have taught you myself it means that you can do the spell to show the pages.

Ancient tale by Zebrika.

The sun was dying and the moon was broken.

In those days those who we once considered barbarians not very different from children who knew nothing better than their life attacked, looted and destroyed the cities in which the ponies lived. They destroyed Equestria inside and out leaving that giant that was once feared by all as just a shadow of what it once was.

My dear reader, as you may know, ponies are divided into earth ponies, pegasi, and unicorns. This was the old Equestria based on that union of three races all under the benevolent rule of my younger sisters… Princess Celestia and Princess Luna.

They had just come out of the dark ages which their greatest events (The overthrow of Discord, the griffin wars, and the crystal wars) were contained by the alicorn rulers of Equestria, setting themselves up as the continental superpower of all the kingdoms. However, the last 2 conflicts would bring us problems that could bring Discord back to the table… something that has not happened luckily, but we will talk about these three later.

What ruined what seemed to become the eternal (Pax Equestre)… was a civil war in Equestria.

Princess Luna and her loyal Thestrals (Batponys for the common citizen) took up arms against Equestria out of jealousy and pent-up rage over the numerous conflicts mentioned above, because even though it was technically an equestrian conflict, the majority of the soldiers were pegasi and thestrals, the latter being the ones who shed the most blood and ironically the most socially marginalized.

Luna used this to take up arms and surely they will say that they should have lost by numbers because the thestrals were inferior in numbers to the ponies, but the problem is that the greatest warriors were the pegasi and even these began to soften with the Equestrian peace, on the other hand, the Thestrals, by never mixing culturally with the rest, continued with their ancient traditions, the common soldier being superior to 4 or 5 ponies.

I will not talk about the conflict now because it is too long and tedious to describe it part by part, as well as being very morbid if I have to be honest, but everything came to its conclusion with its end.

The confrontation between Celestia and Luna, the latter turned into Nightmare Moon, not only destroyed the entire ancient capital "Canterlot" but also meant the collapse of Equestria, because even though it was a diarchy with its institutions and even a newborn parliament, it was just that... newborn. The common pony saw the alicorn sisters as goddesses, an absolute government, and with this war they learned that even goddesses can die.

Both "died" and with that the sun and the moon lost control resulting in an eternal sunset or sunrise depending on where you are. Equestria died with the sisters and with them the common pony and the small vassal states of Equestria were freed to be plundered by foreigners and thieves.

Ok, I've already told you the basic story, something that they tell you in college or in a basic school... with that already said, now we'll get into the more specific details... that is, me.

There I was… in an old wagon ridden by zebras… at that time I was in Zebrika away from all the troubles at least until the fall of Equestria where I had to reveal myself to all the equines.

There is something that before I start telling you everything that happened you must understand. I was crazy.
I did not rule with my sisters because I was simply crazy. I had done something crazy in my youth that not only got me my cutie mark but also with that brought what I would call Grogar's madness.

But anyway, I think I've given you enough context to finally get into more specific details, detailing the first days of the fall of Equestria and how it affected at least Zebrika.
