Mirage:

"Mia, pass the lemonade please."

They shouldn't know, they'd freak.

"Sweetheart?"

Would they be alright? Would they hunt her down?

"Mirage, are you alright?"

They'd kill me no doubt.

"MIRAGE!!!"

Daydreaming, again.

"Sorry, what?" I asked my mother, who had been talking about her career before I had stopped listening.

"Pass the lemonade." Photo Finish said.

I shrugged and picked it up with my wing and moved it towards her quickly, sloshing it around and almost spilling it.

"Be careful!" She said, pointing down to her food. "This is a forty bit salad!"

"Oh come on Mom." Neon Soul said.

"What is wrong dear?" Hoity Toity asked me, he could always see stress.

"Nothing" I said with a smile.

"You're sweating."

"It's hot in here."

I looked around the enormous restaurant, it was like the Canterlot castle's younger sibling, sharing many similarities in the utmost fanciness. I hated places like this, so did my sister, but Mom and Dad would take no less.

My mom took a sip from her lemonade and frowned.

"Much to sour." She said.

It tasted like normal lemonade to say the least, it was actually quite good.

"Why on earth did we pick this restaurant?" Dad asked.

"C'mon guys, chill out." Neon said.

"I told you not to use that ghastly slang around your mother and I!" Dad complained.

"I told you to stop being such a snooty brat, and did you listen?" Neon argued.

"Your father is not snooty!" Mom said, putting an arm around him, "He is sophisticated."

Neon grumbled and went back to her food.

"Now that she is finished," Mom said, turning to me. "What is wrong darling?"

"I already told you, nothing is wrong." I lied.

"You are much too stressed for nothing to be wrong." Dad said.

I give up.

"Spitfire and I have been together for awhile now, y'know?" I asked.

"Yes, we do." Mom answered.

"She's been thinking... She wants to... Take the next step." I hesitated.

Mother smiled, "I would tell you to use protection, but that wouldn't be the same in your case."

"Wait-"

"Just remember darling, Sex is a natural thing." Father said.

"That's not what she means." Neon grumbled, I had already told her.

"Then what do you mean?" Dad asked.

"She wants kids."

The other side of the table seemed to implode, Mom spewed her expensive wine from her mouth and Dad choked on a lettuce leaf, Neon just chuckled.

"Absolutely not!!!" Mother screeched, "What in Celestia's name possessed you to even consider such a thing?!"

"Her."

"Where is that mare?!" Mom asked, standing up from the table. "I'll wring her neck!!!"

"Mom, sit down!" Neon shouted, "You wouldn't get close to that mare."

"I gotta go." I said, "Come on Neon."

Neon slipped out of her booth and we walked calmly from the restaurant, evading Mom's curses and threats.

When we got out of the store, Spitfire flew down from the top of the store and landed next to us with a smile on her face.

She hugged me, then we walked together towards the train station.

"So, did we get your parents special permission?" She asked.

"Not even close." I said, kissing her cheek and receiving a smile.

"You know she'd love that thing like it was hers if you guys would just go and have it." Neon said.

Spitfire chuckled, "I see how she treats you girls."

We all laughed.

"I wouldn't want him or her to be as snooty as them." I said,

"Not snooty, sophisticated." Neon joked.

The city of Canterlot always had crowded streets, every square in was filled with very uptight and fancy ponies. But we had caught Canterlot at a good time, it was late December and everypony was inside to avoid the cold. Only the brave ponies would go out to eat or go to the store and risk getting their hooves wet.

"Sorry girls, but I got to get on a separate train, we have a show in Fillydelphia two days from now." Neon said.

"Alright sis," I said, hugging her. "See you soon."

Before I broke the hug, she whispered in my ear.

"Give me something to look forward to come home to."

I knew what she meant.

She waved to Spitfire and then ran through the snow towards her train.

"So, what'd the say?" Spitfire asked, turning towards me and wrapping her wing around me.

I had always found her touch comforting, she always radiated some kind of warm aurora. Making it comfortable to sleep side by side.

"They said they'd wring your neck if they found you."

"Perfect."

Wee went on our way towards the train that would take us back to Ponyville, what was now know as our new home. The cloud house did not remain, so instead they bought a smaller house, very cozy, and big enough for the two of them.

Spitfire wanted a third in that house.

I was racking my brain of why she would want a child, Spitfire had never been really fond of kids. Did she really think she would be fond of her own? Would I?

I knew what happened when families had children, they fought more often, they never had a chance to really love each other, and so on.

The worst part was, I had to open my mouth and volunteer to carry it.

She didn't want adoption, neither did I. We wanted something that was ours, through and through. Even though we would have to go to a certain "Bank" to get what we needed, we wanted a Pegasus, we wanted to fly with her and be able to share things about flying with her.

"Spitfire?" I asked, covering myself with a blanket.

We were on the same side of the train, huddled close to each other, I really liked the Winter, it was beautiful, but it was so cold.

"Yeah?" She asked.

"I wanted to talk to you..." I paused, feeling this wasn't really the right time, then went on. "About the baby..."

I felt Spitfire's coat heat up.

"What about it?"

"How would we even..." I hesitated again, and moved closer to her. "It would be embarrassing..."

"To go to the sperm bank?" She asked.

"Yeah, that." I said, cuddling more with her.

"I'll do it." She said.

"But, I don't want to be known as the pony who didn't come with you." I said.

"So come with me." She said, laying on her back and putting my chest on hers.

"But..."

"Make up your mind Mia!" She laughed. "It will be ours either way."

Here comes the blushing on my part.

"Okay, I'll go."
