Chapter 4

Previous Chapter

Three days have passed since Twilight was released from the hospital and handed over into the care of the princesses.

”Good afternoon, Twilight,” Luna greeted the mare as she caught sight of the unicorn, who was looking emotionlessly out of a window over the countryside.

“Mhh?” Twilight turned her head to the voice. “Ohh, hello Luna,” she greeted back as she caught sight of the alicorn mare. “Do you need something from me?”.

“Not really, well only a few of the guards have brought their concerns to me,” Luna stood next to the smaller mare and also looked out of the window. “You seem to be walking aimlessly through the corridors, staring emotionlessly out of the windows, you don't seem to react when you're spoken to either,” the princess looked down at her worriedly. “What's wrong?”

“What's wrong?” Twilight looked up at Luna in confusion. “A week,” came quietly from her mouth. “A week!” her face twisted into an angry grimace. “A week!” her voice became louder and angrier. “It's been a week since I tried to take my life!” Twilight now turned her whole body towards the princess.

“Twilight?” Luna was surprised by the unicorn mare's sudden change of mood.

“I've been out of hospital for three days now!” Twilight became angrier, ”and where are they?! My so-called “best friends”?!” she spat out the words in disgust. “I know that you and Celestia sent them the news about me every time with a messenger who told them that he would deliver their news to me if they wanted.... And not one of them has accepted the offer!”. Twilight had to suppress her tears and took a deep breath.

“Ohh Twilight,” Luna's gaze turned from worried to sad and without giving it much thought, she hugged the smaller mare to her chest fur and embraced her with a hoof.

Twilight gratefully accepted the hug and cried into the princess's dark blue fur. “I... I never want to see those assholes again!” she pressed herself closer to the alicorn mare.

“You don't mean that,” Luna stroked her back, slightly surprised to hear the mare swear.

“Yes, I do mean it!” Twilight pushed away from her and immediately missed the mare's warmth and closeness. “I realize now that they don't care about me!” her face became angrier again. “For example, Rarity, she only sees me as a tool to get ponies from higher society, to sell her shitty clothes and to become famous!” she snorted, ”you know what, here's the rest! Rainbow Dash, the element of loyalty, yes very loyal... to herself!, how many times has she dumped us or had to be forced to do something for us but woe betide you if you're not there for her right away!

Pinkie Pie, she's nice but she never listens to you!, and her fucking parties!, every now and then a party is nice and so..... but NOT THREE TIMES A WEEK! And if you do cancel, she'll be offended and feel unappreciated! Applejack, I can understand that her family farm comes first and is important to her, but working herself half to death can't be worth it? I went through her finances once because she needed my help with something and she can easily afford employees without making a big loss but what does she do? She forces her seven year old sister to work on the farm, no wonder Applebloom keeps running away! And last but not least Fluttershy.... I can't say much about her, I forget she even exists half the time, I mean, how can you have such an non existing aura?” Twilight's breathing came out intermittently.

There was a brief, tense silence between the two mares as Luna digested the smaller mare's outburst. “Well, what about Ponyville? It's become your home, hasn't it?” she tilted her head a little and looked at you questioningly.

“Ponyville?” Twilight's breathing calmed down a little as she thought about the small town. “Who needs Ponyville? It was never my home. I mean, Celestia told me to stay there and study the magic of “friendship”, I'm better off here in Canterlot”.

Before Luna could say anything, she noticed one of her sister's guards running towards the two mares and stopping in front of them with a short salute. “Princess, Miss Sparkle, five ponies have just come into the castle who would like to talk to you, Miss Sparkle. They say they are friends of yours?”.
