Katie leaned against Twilight's bookcase, and hugged her knees. Rarity had given her a quite...thorough....washing, so her hair know gleamed past her toes (for even though Rarity tried, Katie was quite attached to her long locks.) She stared forward at Spike, who was now every second glancing at her. I'm a novelty, just a play toy. she thought to herself and stared out the window at the cartoon world. Ponies, sunshine, happiness. Her life just felt to real, she was just to real to be in this cartoon world.
"How are you?" said a voice from the front door. Katie turned her head fast, still concealing her bow and arrow (that she had made when she was 8, she knew the ponies wouldn't like it so she kept it from them.) despite her urges on her leaf blanket she had made. She made many things in the wild. "Oh, Twilight! Fine." said Katie and decreased her smile as she crumpled to the ground of the library. She wanted a fight. She expected a fight. She needed a fight.
"No you're not Katie, you're not fine" Katie turned to Twilight and asked her "What?" "Huh, Katie? Oh I asked how you were doing but you answered that.." Twilight looked confused, for she hardly understood the human. Twilight knew to be careful, humans might be dangerous. They hadn't had one since..since..well before Katie. Katie turned around and saw a pair of gleaming red and orange eyes staring at her. "Tell me, Tell me" said the voice. Katie turned, Twilight was gone and Spike was sleeping. "I..I don't belong here" she told the eyes "Not here, in a cartoon. My life is to real, I want my real family!" She yelled, surprising herself. She quickly turned to Spike who, despite her yelling, was still asleep murmuring about ice cream. "Let me tell you something, for the real world all you must do is tear those ponies in the woods, your "friends". apart from each other. They mustn't be friends, then I'll grant you your wish.
Katie's eyes began to tear as the eyes vanished into the darkness. She was struck with a weird sense of reality.
I've got to split the unsplittable. She knew it wasn't a word, but she thought it any way.
Fluttershy walked in, Katie hardly noticed. "you mustn't talk to the eyes" said Fluttershy in her low voice. Katie turned around and stared into Fluttershy's deep blue eyes with surprise "they belong to Discord, the more you talk to them the more you depend on them. You won't listen now but in the end it happens. trust me. don't talk to them again" Fluttershy left without another word.
Katie stared forward at Spike who rolled over and whispered in a repetition of Fluttershy "discord" and mumbled back to sleep.
A stranded young girl lay in the grass by a big tree, her incredibly long dirt filled hair seeping to her toes. She sat there, dirt infested clothes lay upon her. Some may call her homeless, some may make fun of her, but she made more sense out of life than you ever will. She knew that if life gave her the option to stay safe forever in mortal world, to not go into the portal in her backyard. Could you resist the calling to a different world? She couldn't, she ran into the portal, only 5 years of age. She was now 13, and she longed to see her family. Yet, she knew life would make it's choices. Her opinions didn't matter.
Life controlled her.
Her name is Katie and she has lived in the Pony's World for 8 years, and has only found home in the Ghostly Hallows.\
She longed for companionship, but she knew ponies didn't trust her. The last time she saw them, was when she caused a ghastly rampage that almost killed several ponies. She was a wanted convict, since she was 7. She stood, bracing herself for the graveyard sometimes made noises. Slowly walking forward to a gravestone, she began to think. Was this all for her? Was this all life was going to give her? A graveyard?"Life, hear me now!" she yelled. She sat down, leaning against a grave stone, and picked up a rock and threw it at a tree. Then she passed out in sleep.
"Do you think she's alive?" a voice, very primitive asked. Katie kept her eyes glued shut, in fear. "Yes, but I'm not sure what she is! I think she may be a...a..human!" said a know-it-all voice. "Do you think it's...Katie?? That girl the other ponies told us about?" said a shy timid voice. "YES I AM!!" Yelled Katie, who suddenly couldn't take it. She looked around, same graveyard. She saw 6 ponies. A shy timid one, a loyal fasttrotter, a smart devil (named for her horn), a primitive royal, a total country pony, and finally a party pony. "Who are you, why have you found me, and what do you want with me?" asked Katie, scared now.
"We want to help you." said the primitive one.
And soon Katie knew she was safe. For now.
