Oolatoocs

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

The four bros walked down the creaky steps into the basement. A familiar laugh could be heard, but the laugh was long and deep, almost maniacal. Benji’s laughs echoed down the hall that lead to the basement door, followed by quick bangs and thrashing noised. TJ, was in the lead while Ian was in the back, all four were carrying weapons. TJ’s “lucky” machete, Zach’s axe, Ian’s nine iron, and Marc with his spiked umbrella.

TJ turned around and put a finger up to his lips, signaling for silence. He grabbed the doorknob and slowly opened it. What they saw was a disturbing sight, something out of Frankenstein. Benji heard the door open and turned around.

“Hey, guys,” he said casually. Ian dropped his nine iron and looked at the horrible creature on the table in front of Benji. It was literally the sewn together pieces of every monster the group had killed. It had four arms, two of them were already weapons, one of them was mechanical while the other looked human. It also had a gelatinous midsection that was attached to a huge potato shaped body as well as severed bear legs connected by tubes that ran inside the midsection.

“What the hell is this thing?” Zach asked, gripping the axe more in two places. TJ stepped closer to Benji.

“Is this what you’ve been doing? Building this... thing?”

“Hey, it has a name!” Benji shouted. “I call it Oolatoocs,” he said turning back to the creature on the table. It was tied down to the table, but that didn’t stop it from thrashing around. Benji put his hand on it’s upper body and a disturbed smile grew on his face.

“Dude,” Marc said in shock, “are you crazy?” Benji looked at the four again.

“Oolatoocs will kill all the monsters for us,” he said, his hand still on it’s body. “It’s still sleeping, so be quiet.”

“Sleeping?” Marc said in a purposely loud voice. Oolatoocs thrashed more on the table, then settled down a bit.

“Shh!” Benji said, taking a step toward Marc. Then, Oolatoocs woke up. A head sprung from the upper body, resembling a snake and praying mantis. It’s  short arms were against it’s neck and it’s small wings outstretched. The sight of it made TJ sick to his stomach as he put together the reason it was named “Oolatoocs”. It’s head resembled Scootaloo’s, his favorite character from MLP. The coat color was dull, mostly because of the slime that was pouring out of it’s body. The mane still resembled Scootaloo’s with a mad man’s touch.

“Good going, now it’ll never get to sleep!” Benji shouted. Zach charged at the table, his axe in both hands. Benji ran out of the way just as Zach slammed the axe down, trying to kill Oolatoocs, but missed. Instead, he hit the thick straps that bound the creature to the table.

“Zach!” TJ shouted, “Are you insane?!” Now free, Oolatoocs stood, it’s grotesque wings now free and it’s multiple body parts stretching. Ian quickly picked up his nine iron and bolted for the door. Oolatoocs thrashed around freely, knocking over Benji’s equipment. Benji ran at Oolatoocs and jumped on it’s back, holding onto the base of it’s wings.

“Benji, what are you doing?” TJ called out. Benji looked at the three that were still in the room and smiled again. Oolatoocs stomped on Benji’s keyboard, activating a portal. The bros were all in shock at how Benji could control the creature with such ease. Oolatoocs flapped it’s wings a few times , then ran straight through the portal.

“We have to go get him,” Marc said, watching the portal swirl in multiple colors. Sparks flew from the damaged computers as TJ turned to Zach.

“Go get Ian, hurry!” Zach nodded and ran back up the stairs, coming back with Ian a few seconds later. They all stared at the looming portal, their weapons in their hands, watching the portal ripple and slowly shrink as the power supply diminished.

“It’s now or never,” Marc said, looking at the bros. They all nodded in sync, then jumped through the portal.
