Chapter 12

Sonic Heroes!

After passing through Appleloosa, the group made it to Canterlots’ outskirts. They were relieved to finally be out of the heat and back in civilization. “I don’t know about you girls but I’m gonna go take one heck of a drink!” Sonic said as he walked to find a water source but all he could find was a ceramic fountain made for ponies. “Uh… never mind I think I’ll wait.” Sonic said as he side stepped to let the girls drink. “I do say! What is that thing?” said a unicorn nearby. She had a scarlet colored body with a cutie mark representing a yellow gem or emerald and a purple mane with a yellow stripe going through. “That thing has a name! I’m Sonic the Hedgehog!” The mane 6 noticed and stopped drinking. “And who might you be?” Sonic asked. “My name is Scarletta and ew! What thing on earth would have the name of Sonic?” “Just the fastest thing alive!” “Rainbow Dash cleared her throat. “Ok one of the fastest things alive. Also what’s with the accent? Is that how everyone here talks?” Sonic asked. “Well not EVERYPONY.” Said Scarletta, this time with a normal accent! “My parents want me to be a Canterlot pony but I find myself more Ponyville. Besides have you seen how small the food is here? I can’t live on that much!” she exclaimed. “Ugh I know how you feel! Once I went to a fancy town, the food was the size of a raisin!” Sonic added. “Exactly!” Scarletta said.

“So you 2 guys are from another universe? I thought the stories and talks of other universes were all ponytales! But I guess it’s all true since you guys are here! I knew you 2 weren’t from around here!” Scarletta said as she leaned down to take a drink. Suddenly the sky grew dark and everypony in Canterlot was shrouded in darkness. Sonic looked up and to his surprise, Eggman had built a second airship! “Eggman! Does this guy ever give up?” Sonic thought to his self. The others looked up. “Him again?!” Rarity exclaimed. “He’s headed for…!!!!!!” Twilight went slack jaw! “Princess Celestia’s Castle!!” Fluttershy added. “Who’s Eggman? And why is this bad?” asked Scarletta. “You guys explain to her while I go save me a princess!” Sonic yelled as he ran off to stop the ship!

Meanwhile inside the castle, Princess Celestia was on a balcony watching over Canterlot when a huge explosion broke silence! Celestia was swept off her hooves and fell to the floor. When she got back up and looked out her window, she was shocked to find an army of airships blasting away at her castle! Sonic arrived just in time to see half of Canterlot castle crumbling! Dozens of guards tried to stop the rampage but the cannons were aimed at them as well! Sonic sprang into action and ran towards the falling debris. Tails and the others got there just in time to see Sonic jumping from fragment to fragment of the castle in order to climb to the ships. Twilight panicked. “THE PRINCESS!!” She screamed. Princess Celestia could be seen falling from the castle! Sonic seized the moment and caught her just in time! Celestia fainted! Sonic then landed and set the royal ruler down near the group then ran back into the destruction!

Meanwhile on one of the ships Eggman was checking the demolition progress. “How in the world will Princess Celestia rule her kingdom now, if she has nowhere to rule it? OHOHOHOHOHOHOHHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHO!!!” He laughed until an alarm sounded and looked at a security monitor. “I should’ve known you’d show up! Now taste my cannons! FIRE!” He ordered as dozens of cannons were aimed at the Blue Blur and were ready to blast away! Suddenly the cannons glowed purple and exploded! Eggman looked at another monitor to find Twilight, Rarity, and Scarletta using their magic to take out the cannons! Eggman slammed his fist down on a button and suddenly the ships’ cargo door opens, dropping a huge crate standing 19 stories high! The crate broke open to reveal a giant spherical black robot. 4 tentacles representing legs and a navigator eye popped out! “Say hello to the Orbatron! Eggman said over the loud speaker. As the colossal 17 story robot came to life, Twilight and the others scrambled for safety but Rainbow Dash remembered that Sonic was too busy taking down the airships. She changed course and flew back towards Orbatron “Rainbow Dash! NO!” yelled Twilight as she noticed her friend rushing back. Sonic noticed and knew that Rainbow Dash alone was no match for one of Eggman’s robots. As the blue Pegasus was about to brace for the impact, Orbatron’s leg came down on her!!! When the leg lifted, it was clear that she was hurt and out cold as she lay motionless in the crater! But Orbatron wasn’t done! It raised its leg, and closed its claws as smoke could be seen coming out of a loose area indicating the arm was a missile and was about to launch a fatal attack that could be the final hit!! “NO!” Sonic exclaimed. He couldn’t stand to see his friend get blasted to bits. Suddenly he felt something. He felt a rush of energy. Energy was building up inside of him. It grew stronger. And stronger. It grew… SUPER STORNG!! Suddenly the Chaos Emeralds surrounded him.  He clenched his fists and started to levitate as his quills stood up! Tails knew what was going to happen next. The ponies were confused and worried as Princess Celestia recovered. She looked up to see the same thing. Sonic’s power had grown so powerful, he started glowing….GOLDEN!!! He couldn’t hold the energy in anymore. Within a flash, Sonic opened his heart and soul as a huge shockwave and beam of power engulfed the area! The whole sky lit up and a powerful wind could be felt miles away! Sonic had gone SUPERSONIC!!!!! “HANG IN THERE RAINBOW!!” Sonic yelled. Everyone on the ground except Tails went slack-jaw. Sonic flew to the robot and flew right in front of the ‘eye’ hoping to distract it and buy Rainbow Dash some time to recover and get away. The robots’ foot was just centimeters away from delivering the fatal stomp when it noticed Super Sonic! It lifted its foot to now aim for Super Sonic. He flew round and around and to his surprise, Orbatron was hitting itself! It then got furious and hit hard but missed! Instead, it took out its own ‘brain’! It froze immediately and then collapsed to the ground! “Now it’s Eggman’s turn!” Super Sonic exclaimed. “Uh oh!” Eggman said as Super Sonic broke through the ship’s hull and came out the top! Then did the same with the other ships!” “YOU’LL REGRET THIS!!” yelled Eggman as he plummeted to the ground, got in his mobile, and fly’s off into the Everfree Forest. Super Sonic looked down at Rainbow Dash who was now coming to. She was able to only open her eyes halfway and looked up to see the golden flying heroic hedgehog that had just saved her life. “…..S...So…Sonic?.............” she muttered before passing out again.

“……. Wait……she’s waking……….waking up!”

Rainbow Dash wakes up to find herself laying on Twilight’s bed, with bandages wrapped around her stomach, wings, and back legs, surrounded by Sonic, Tails, Twilight, Scarletta, Applejack, Pinkie Pie, Rarity, Fluttershy, Spike and Princess Celestia. “Oh my goodness! Rainbow Dash, are you ok? Are you hurt?” Fluttershy asked desperately with Angel Bunny perching on her head. “Ugh…Fluttershy? What happened? Where’s Sonic? Where’s Eggman?” Rainbow asked. Twilight giggled before stepping back and revealing Sonic in his normal non-super form and Tails both smiling at her. “Heheh. Don’t worry Rainbow! I’m right here! And I also saved your life! So where’s that apple pie you guys promised!” Sonic joked. Although he was getting hungry (LOL). Rainbow Dash then noticed Princess Celestia and gasped before getting on the ground and bowing her head. The princess smiled. “Good to see you have made a full recovery, Rainbow Dash. Thanks to Sonic’s quick thinking and ability to use the Chaos Emeralds, he was able to take down Eggman’s Orbatron and airships to save both my castle... or at least what remains of it, and your life! You can thank him for that!” “The Chaos Emeralds?” Rainbow Dash said confused. “The Chaos Emeralds are these powerful gems that have powerful abilities and properties. They have a magical ability that transforms ones thoughts into power.” Celestia explained as she turned to face Sonic. “Sonic, The Fleet-Footed Hedgehog, has a power inside of him that harnesses the Emeralds’ positive energy. However before he can use it, he must open his heart and soul. If he does, he undergoes a powerful transformation doubling his speed and strength, giving him the ability to fly, and becomes invulnerable and invincible to almost anything thrown at him! And on top of that, adding some style by turning him gold color!” she added. “Hold on one second! How did you even know that?” Rainbow Dash asked. Tails raised his hand and flew over to Rainbow Dash. “I explained that to the Princess.” Tails told her. “Also what happened to Eggman?” Rainbow asked. “He’s in the Everfree Forest at the old castle of the royal pony sisters and he built his base there and now he’s plotting his last revenge on us.” Tails answered. “That’s our cue to go follow him and finally end this once and for all!” Sonic Exclaimed. Sonic opened the front door and jumped back in surprise when he saw everypony in Ponyville gathered at the front door cheering for Sonic! “WHOA!! Well it’s about time the welcome party arrived!” Pinkie Pie then burst out the door. The mayor of Ponyville, Mayor Mare, Appeared at the front of the crowd and stood in front of Sonic and Tails. “Actually it’s a party wishing you good luck! We received word that a blue fleet-footed hedgehog, along with the aid of a two-tailed orange fox plus Twilight and her friends, have been seen trying to stop a fleet of airships from destroying our dear Princess Celestia’s castle from destruction. And we thank you so much for destroying that horrible big armed robot in the park when you and Rainbow Dash were racing the other day.” “Oh! Well then in that case, it was nothing! And good luck?” “Tails built a surveillance monitor inside of town hall for all of Ponyville to watch you defeat this evil Dr. Eggman once and for all and bring back harmony to all of Equestria!” Mayor Mare said before everypony started cheering! “C’mon guys! We got a universe to save!” Sonic exclaimed proudly as Tails, Scarletta, and the mane 6 stood at the door. “LETS DO THIS!!” the group exclaimed as Sonic and Tails lead them to the Everfree Forest! But before they could reach the entrance, a loud crack of thunder erupted In the sky, followed by the ground shaking and ending with a lightning bolt in the sky! Suddenly a portal with a purple void popped out of nowhere! The group readied themselves for what was coming. Then out popped a spiky light blue hedgehog wearing red shoes.
