Chapter 11

“It’s………. The Death Egg! He got that crazy idea long ago and now again!?” Sonic wondered. “The what?” everyone questioned in unison as the ground continued shaking. “The Death Egg! It’s one of Eggman’s creations. A giant mega space station/ base!” Tails explained. “No time to waste! The Death Egg is step 2 in his plan! If he gets to step 3, then it’s all over!” Sonic added before bolting off.

The others followed.

Later upon reaching a desert-like region Sonic was dripping wet! “Tails do me a favor and remind me to never take shortcuts through water EVER again! Also Fluttershy, hope it isn’t much trouble if you dry me off with your wings is it?” Sonic asked. “Oh no. of course not!” Fluttershy responded as she fanned the blue hedgehog dry. “Thanks.” “You’re welcome.” She said as she noticed the intense heat surging through her body. “Oh my! It’s hot out here!” She started sweating. “She has a point Sonic! I’m starting to fry!” Tails added. “Huh. Come to think of it, I do feel a little scorched.” Sonic said as the others caught up. “If I were you sugarcube, I’d start drinking some water cause the road to Appleloosa, will be harsh!” Applejack warned. “Water? I bet all the Water here evaporated already!” Twilight added. “Hey Twilight, I don’t suppose you know a spell that makes water appear or instantly hydrates us, do you?” Sonic asked hoping for a yes. Twilight giggled. “You know magic doesn’t really work that way! Although I do know a spell to cool us off. But I don’t think it will work because I just learned that magic can only work if the temperatures just right.” “Great!” Sonic added sarcastically. “Well if we want to be cool again we gotta get out of this heat!” “I agree! This intense heat is messing up my hair!” Rarity said. “Wow! Talk about sassy and prissy!” Sonic whispered to Tails.

Later on…

Sonic was running as fast as he could to cool off while everyone else was desperate to find shade or water. “How do cowponies do this?” Pinkie wondered. “Uh don’t you mean cow-BOYS?” asked Tails as he wiped some sweat from his forehead. “Well in this dimension, they’re called cowponies.” Rainbow Dash answered. “So what’s it like in your dimension?” asked a curious Twilight Sparkle. “Well just like I explained before, the clouds move on their own, the plants actually grow, and the animals do care for themselves. But it’s not all that bad. The sky is actually very colorful and beautiful like in Ponyville. And animals can be kept as pets. And since they feed themselves, it does save us the work of feeding them. And without the clouds moving, there would be no weather at all.” Tails explained “Wow! That makes the Everfree Forest less creepy.” Twilight said “Look!” Exclaimed Rarity, pointing towards a small western styled town in the distance. “Finally! Sanctuary! Hope! Water! Shade!” Rarity added said as she ran full speed to the town ahead. The Twilight and the other ponies joined her, rushing to the town ready to quench their thirst. As they got closer they noticed something odd. There was no sound at all. No pony dialogue to be heard. Not even the sound of boots stepping on the dirt covered ground. Just dry wind blowing through the air. Then they were ambushed. A huge net on the ground lifted off the ground up with amazing speed, capturing them. Then the net started rising higher and higher. Sonic got there just in time to see what was happening and saw who was behind the ambush. “Eggman!” Sonic exclaimed. “Yes hedgehog! And I have your little friends/batteries! If I run out of energy, I’ll know I have some spare batteries! So long suckers!” Eggman exclaimed. “SONIC! HELP!” yelled the ponies in the net. “Oh no you don’t!” Sonic exclaimed as he ran to free the girls with Tails right behind him. But just before he could jump, one of the ropes holding the net together snapped! The ponies landed hard in the dirt! “Wow guys! I didn’t know you had it in you!” Sonic said. “How’d you do it?” he asked. “Uh Sonic, we didn’t do anything. The ropes just snapped.” Sonic was surprised. Eggman’s traps were usually stronger! “What? It was the only thing I could find!” Eggman added as Sonic gave him a look that was ready to bust out laughing. He then took off in his egg mobile “If you do make it to the ruins, look out! I’ll be sure to leave you SPEECHLESS!” Eggman hollered as he flew off. “Wow Tails! Can you believe this guy? He used a NET! Out of all those machinery and stuff and he went with a net!? That’s pretty low! Even for a sleaze ball like ‘Baldy

Mc.-nose-hair’! Sonic said as the ponies overheard and started laughing. Suddenly, Tails noticed something: “Hey! Where’s Spike?!” everyone gasped but only to find Spike behind Sonic’s legs exhausted and tired. “Sorry… Twilight….. Didn’t use…… Her…… spell……. on me….” He uttered as he collapsed to the ground, too tired to do anything. “Let me guess, you had to run all the way?” Sonic asked. Spike nodded with his face planted in the ground. “Well actually, Wavedancer gave me a lift. I just had to run the rest of the way.” “Oh! I almost forgot about her!” Twilight exclaimed remembering her friend. “Who’s Wavedancer? Let me guess, one of your friends?” asked Tails curiously. “Yes actually. We met her when we first went to Gallop Cove. She’s a hippocampus to be exact.” “A hippo-what-us?” Sonic asked. “A Hippocampus. But they prefer ‘Seaponies’. Anyway, she invited us to her town and to be part of the audience of the dancing waves celebration. And I know you’re gonna ask me about it so, the dancing waves celebration is pretty special for the underwater residents, because the moon is an essential part of their lifestyle...” “Ok I know this part. So skip ahead a little” Sonic interrupted. “Ok. So without Princess Luna, They would all be sick and ill.” Twilight explained “Oh! Well I’d love to meet her, but first we gotta stop Eggman! Perhaps we could take trip over there and you could introduce us!” Sonic said “Sure!” Twilight said
