Twilight's Wish

Prologue

The light snowfall that trickled down was still enough to obscure Spike's vision. He stumbled into a dead bush, and dropped the basket containing two envelopes. The nearby door opened, and a terrified Fluttershy peered outside her home.

    "Angel Bunny? Is that you?" she questioned, not noticing the baby dragon just outside her home.

"Angel, how many times have I told you to come in when it snows?" Although Angel was not in sight, Fluttershy tip-toed out side in search of her beloved pet. When Spike made a slight moan, she shrieked in horror, and dove back into the seemingly safe premises of her home. It took five minutes before she worked up what little courage she had available and looked through her window. As soon as she was the purple body lying in her bush, she bolted outside and scooped up the little dragon.

When Spike woke up, he was lying in a bed, with Fluttershy looking down on him.  He lied there for several hours, until he slumped himself over.

"Are you ok? That was some nasty fall you had there." said Fluttershy, trying to ease the young one. The only response Spike gave was a slight nod, which still managed to hurt his badly bruised neck. "Could I ask what brought you here? If that's ok with you..." She shielded her hooves over her face, like Spike was going to scream at her, but he began to talk.

     "Well, Twilight wanted to have all her friends over for Hearths Warming Eve, so she sent me to give all her friends invitations. Oh gosh, that's right, the invitations! He hoped out of bed, not caring about the huge amount of pain he was receiving, and bolted over to the window. He scanned the area for where he fell, and saw the basket and two envelopes scattered and soggy from the snow. He ran outside to see if they were still intact, but sadly, they ripped upon contact. "Oh no, Twilight will be furious!" he thought to himself. He imagined her lecturing him, and giving him double he chores. Fluttershy ran outside, and stopped behind him. Fluttershy saw the tears in the dragons eyes.

     "What's the matter Spike?" She asked, although she knew exactly what  happened. Just as Spike began to talk, Twilight galloped up the path.

Spike noticed her before she noticed him, so he dove into the nearby pond, not realizing it was frozen. Twilight jumped in joy when she saw her baby dragon.

"Spike?" She asked her friend, who was smacked hard against the ice.

Spike than screamed as loud as possible "I'm sorry  I'm sorry I'm sorry!"
