My Little Spyro, Friendship is Flammable.
Chapter 4: Meanwhile in the Dragon Realms...
Previous ChapterNext ChapterIn the land of Dragons... Everyone was flipping out.
"When one loses a Dragon, It usually doesn't go unnoticed. But when one looses a Dragon that has saved numerous realms, practically saved the race from extinction, and might as well be the Dragon version of Moses, then you BETTER get him back."
A large, blue Dragon towered over the Professor, who was only about three feet high, while the dragon was 13. The pressure had been building over the last few days on the Professor to find out where Spyro ended up, because to be quite frank, it was freaking everybody out that he just vanished. For all the other Dragons knew, their little messiah could be suffocating in a black hole. That did not sit well with anyone, so all of the superportal 2.0 effort had been pushed into "Get that purple dragon back before we are all toasted like sheep!" mode.
Hunter and Bianca had been sticking around to help the Professor as best they could in trying to open the portal again. Though, Bianca was doing a bit more, considering Hunter couldn't keep track of his running shoes. So, the cheetah mostly kept the Dragons off the Professor's back.
The Professor, despite the pressure, had managed to work up a bit of an answer, "Well, uh... You see, something from a different world sent out a connection to the Superportal's powerful transmitter, and opened it's gate. Whether or not they meant to, or if they were hostile or in need of help, is still a mystery-"
"Get to the point!" Yelled the dragon, bearing his teeth.
The Professor squeaked a bit, and shrunk back. However, Hunter the Cheetah came between them to mediate.
"Chill out, he's not going to fix it faster if you yelling at him out the wazoo."
Dragon dragon pulled back, pouting a bit. The Professor nervously coughed and looked back to his notepad.
"Were was I... Oh yes, The good news is, I have saved the coordinates of the source. This can allow us to recalibrate the Superportal 2.0 into making a gateway to the world Spyro was sent."
Bianca nodded her head and commented to the dragon, "Basically, we should be able to find Spyro, and he is likely alive."
The Blue Dragon waved his claw, "Alright then, how soon can you open that portal?"
The Proffessor turn to the control configurations on the side of the large archway of the superportal 2.0, "Since that connection came from a whole different world, we need to charge it up more first, and the more of a charge, the better, because we could only keep it open for a short amount of time."
The Dragon sighed, "Get to the point, how long will this take?"
The Professor began fidgeting with his notepad, "Well, the best suggestion to get it open in a timely manner, and have enough energy to keep it open for how long it'd likely take to find Spyro, a week."
The dragon snorted, showing his obvious distaste of the situation, "Great! Do you know how much could happen to him in that time?!"
Bianca crossed her arms, "You all didn't seem to object to sending him alone with Hunter onto the other side of the world, to find ALL of the dragon eggs."
The Blue dragon began bulls***ing, "Well, that's not true, there was that fairy!"
Bainca stepped closer to the Dragon, "Oh yes, a fairy! How terrifying! If I wanted to, I could have zapped that fairy and cheetah onto either of the moons! No offense Hunter."
"Non taken," replied Hunter.
Dragon Dragon shook his head, "Whatever, you all just get back to work, I have other things to attend to!"
As the dragon flew off, Bianca pouted and turned to Hunter, "Can you believe that? They say that almost all the time when they start loosing an argument!"
Hunter shrugged, "Well, Dragons are kind of stubborn, and hate being proven wrong."
Bainca sighed, "Whatever, let's get back to work."

Twilight had much on her mind, as her flying carriage closed in on Ponyville and her library home. "This is getting wonderful, one third of our Princesses has been knocked into coma, and I have to find a way to stop this, thing, before it does worse. It's like these things happen annually now, like some set of deities trying to entertain each other plan it out that way."
The carriage now dropped downward, and in a few short moments, Twilight was infront of her home. Upon stepping out and sending the drivers off, Twilight sighed, slightly stressed with what she'd been assigned. "Well, if anypony, I can figure this out. Now that I'm home I should gather my friends. At least everything here is in tact."
Suddenly, a crash was heard, and upon looking up, Twilight saw a half tighed Spyro trying to leap off the edge of her balcony. He was promptly caught by the rope, and hung upside down from the balcony struggling with the rope.
"Oh Rarity! I really need a hug!" he yelled.
"Oooh no... -_-" was Twilights first thought.
Rainbow Dash now flew out of the balcony and hovered next to Spyro, "Now are you going to behave kid? Don't make this harder than it needs to be!"
"I just need to snuggle her more! Everybody loves Dragons snuggles! Just bring me to her!" replied Spyro.
Twilight grumbled, and let out her immediate frusteration, "RAINBOW DASH! WHAT DID YOU DO TO THE DRAGON?!"
"AAHH!" Yelled Rainbow, as she quickly turned to Twilight, and smiled sheepishly, "I err... Fluttershy sort of, let him eat a cookie laced with, love potion..."
Twilight was red with anger now. She had only left for a couple hours, and there was already something getting in the way of her newest assignment from the Princess. "Do you realize what this is going to do?! The princess just requested that we head to the Crystal Empire to find out more about the Dark Dragon, and she specifically requested we bring Spyro! Now you already broke him!"
Spyro rolled his eyes, "I just want to hug Rarity, forever. Is that too much to ask?"
Spike came out to the balcony just then, "Yes! It is!"
Twilight glared intensely at Spyro and Spike, both of which shut their mouths immediately. Rainbow Dash notice how much Twilight was stressed out now, knowing Twilight did sometimes have issues with letting stress eat her alive. As such, she quickly landed next to Twilight in order to try and calm her down.
"It's alright Twilight, the potion will wear out in another half hour or so." Said Rainbow Dash while patting Twilight's shoulder, "Just keep a level head an you'll figure this out like you always do!"
Twilight took a few deep breathes, and sat down, "Your right Rainbow, I'm just worried sick..."
Rainbow smirked, "Yeah, you do that often. It's actually understandable this time! But you got to chill out!"
"Alright," replied Twilight, "So, I guess if we keep Spyro here for a bit longer he'll be fine, that gives me plenty of time to gather book that might help us!"
Rainbow took to the air again, "Alright, I think I'll go tell the others to meet us here in a 40 minutes. Then we'll be off."
Spyro got a wide grin, "Your bringing the soft one back! Wonderful! I'm so excited! Get me out of this rope to I can get ready for snuggles!"
Rainbow giggled, "I don't think you'll care by then."
Spyro quickly rebutted, "But if I look sharp enough, I won't have to.", as he grinned subtly.
Spike cocked his head, "What is that supposed to mean?"
Twilight laughed, "Potion drunk Spyro is actually quite funny! Well, see you Rainbow!"
"Later Twi!" replied Rainbow, as she flew off.
Twilight turned back to Spyro hanging a few feet above her. "Now about you..." She lifted him up with her magic, and retied the rope in a much neater way, tying his legs together like a cowboy does, and tying his wings down with the other part of the rope. "There, much better!"
Spyro nodded, "Yep, much better. Rarity will definitely get the idea if I'm tied like this, kind of freaky if you know what I mean."
Twilight hit his head against the wall on her way in, "Oops, my bad." she said sarcastically, "Spike! Come down her with the dragonfly! I need to you help me pack!"
"On it!" replied Spike, before asking, "Twilight, What did he mean by 'freaky'?"
"When your older." replied Twilight.
As the door shut, a mysterious figure came lurked up from behind a bench, gazing over the library. He then spoke in a stereotypical antagonist voice, "The Crystal empire... Yesss. I shall follow you there my precious... But first I have to ask my mom!"
With that, the figure, Button Mash, ran off to his own home.

Fluttershy and Rarity trotted down a path, just a few yards from Fluttershy's cottage.
"I'm sure they're fine darling, How much trouble could they have gotten into while we were gone?" said Rarity.
Fluttershy reached the door and stopped, "Well, They could have went into the woods, found another cockatrice, and been turned to stone..."
Rarity shook her head, "Come now, they learned their lesson last time. All it really takes is good life experience to teach children what is too dangerous for them. Sweetie hasn't tried to give Opal a mud bath in months for instance!"
Fluttershy giggled and she turned the doorknob, "I guess your right."
Upon opening the door however, Fluttershy and Rarity were astonished, as most unexpected, the Cutie Mark Crusaders... WERE PERFECTLY FINE! The Trio sat around Fluttershy's coffee table playing go fish.
Applebloom looked up from her poker face, "Hey Fluttershy, Rarity!"
Scootaloo jumped up, "I think I've got a secret talent for this!" she the pointed at Sweetie Belle dramatically, "Sweetie! do you have... A SEVEN?!"
Sweetie looked up at Scootaloo with an utterly serious poker face, "Go... Fish."
"NOOOOOO!" yelled Scootaloo, "This games rigged."
Sweetie dropped her deck, "Yeah, Let's never play this boring non-violent game again."
Applebloom dropped her cards, "Motion passed."
Rarity laughed, "Good to see you all are behaving, I was worried a bit of irony was going to strike us."
Suddenly, everyone in the room was met with a rather loud explosion, as smoke poured out of Fluttershy's kitchen. There was an immediate flurry of fur and feathers, as critters went running every which way. In response, Rarity glared down the trio, and Fluttershy hid behind Rarity.
Sweetie rubbed the back of her head, "Heh, I guess my cookie is done heating up... I kinda, forgot about it."
Rarity sighed, and closed her eyes in anticipation, as she slowly walked into Fluttershy's kitchen. As it turned out, Sweetie Belle managed to blow the front out of the fire heated oven, and char half of the small room. However, a small circle of pur char remained intact on the rack.
"Fluttershy, I don't mind if you make my little sister clean this up."
Fluttershy eyed the mess, "It's alright, I have plenty of free time."
Rarity lifted the cookie with her magic, "I'll just put this in my trophy room of her accomplishments for a few weeks then. You know what they say, embarrassment is the best teacher."
Fluttershy giggled, "Yea, though, you really need to get her to stop trying too cook..."

Pinkie Pie was very busy today as well, as she was working diligently on a "WELCOME THE NEW DRAGON!" party for Spyro, and a mini "WELCOME THE NEW DRAGONFLY" party. All of the invitations were almost ready, as a pile sat on the on one of the tables at the sugarcube corner. She had also been baking a lot more goods, rapidly zooming from the kitchen to take things out of the oven and put more in, then zooming back out to organize party supplies.
The only problem now, which stumped Pinkie, is what theme should she do? "I really think a miedevil theme party would be awesome! But what if that offends his culture?! Maybe a classic welcoming party like I gave Twilight? No! That would make him feel less unique! Every pony is unique and deserves a unique theme for their party! Hmm... Well, sitting around thinking isn't going to help, I should go find out what he likes! It's perfect, I'll just start various conversations and jokes, allowing him to unwittingly choose all of the parts of his custom party! It will be everything he wants and he won't know it's coming until, BAM!"
"I AM SO SMART!" yelled Pinkie, and the sudden noise of one of the ovens finishing another patch of cookies hit her ears.
Mrs. Cake came downstairs, and nearly lost her mane when the pink blur speed by her. She had let Pinkie spend the "slow time" of the day planning, and even allowed her to use the ovens to make treats for her party like usual, just as long as she paid for half of the materials used. However, She was beginning to worry that this rapid task shifting from Pinkie would end disastrously.
"Careful Pinkie!" she said loudly, "Wouldn't want you to hurt yourself multi-tasking."
PInkie came out of the kitchen with a rack of multi-colored sugar cookies on her back, "Now Mrs. Cake, everything is fine! I am in this special 'zone', where I can switch which 'zone' I am in within meer seconds!"
Mrs. Cake laughed, "Well allow me to help you out with putting the icing on the treats, I mean, it's the least I could do. Besides, Mr. Cake is taking care of the twins today."
Pinkie shook her head, "Nah Mrs. Cake, I got this. Besides, I know you have some much work on your own to feed all these poor hungry customers!"
Mrs. Cake eyed the empty store, "Pinkie, we hardly have anypony in on Sundays."
Pinkie looked at the empty room, "Oh! I must have been so in the zone my mind was making up the noises that usually bustle through here... huh..." Pinkie shook her head, "Well anyway, I guess that means all the help you can do is greatly appreciated! I actually needed to go talk to Spyro before I can continue on deciding the decoration and theme! Then I need to put the theme in all of these invitations!"
Mrs. cake eyed Pinkie, "Pinkie, You do realize almost every pony in town learns of your parties by word of mouth, right?"
Pinkie giggled, "It doesn't hurt to be thorough! Well, I'm off to talk to Spyro!"
"Bye!" replied Mrs. Cake, as Pinkie went out the door.
"This Spyro guy must be pretty hansom or something, Lyra told me he was a model from Fillydelphia. Though Octavia Told me he was a professional music critic from Canterlot... I guess these rumors aren't a good source of information." Mrs. Cake thought to herself
Author's Note
It always confused me that it seemed like non of the Dragons noticed Spyro was gone during Ripto's Rage. I mean, seeing a cutscene of him returning and how the other dragons were either like, "OH my gawd thank goodness, I thought you fell off a cliff or something", or like "Wait, you were gone...? Didn't notice." would be interesting.
Actually, considering most the dragons you rescue in Spyro 1, most probably would be like the second option.
PS: Spyro's world actually does have two moons. If you look at the sky in multiple levels of the first game, TWO MOONS! Now We can have two banished Princesses! One of the night, and one of the... uh... Friendship!
PPS: Will edit more thoroughly tomorrow.
PPPS: Yes, Pinkie can hear when something is ready in the oven, no need for a beep.
