The Story of Starlight

Chapter 1

The moonlight shines brightly through the trees in the Everfree forest. It was quiet and slightly damp everything was normal but there in the middle of the light lays an alicorn with a black coat, wings, and horn her mane and tail are pink. The pony rises from her nap dazed. She observes her surroundings. She stands up and tries to get her bearings on the situation.

"Ugh where am I?" said the pony.

The pony notices its dark and lights up the area with her horn. She suddenly hears a growl from behind. Out of pure instinct she jumps to the side just as a wild manticore charges for her. The mare takes a battle stance horn glowing pink and face full rage. The strange pony runs for the manticore. She jumps onto its back and shoots magic bolts at its tail. The mare then jumps off and runs away while the manticore is stunned. shes finally makes her way out of the brush. It takes awhile for her eyes to adjust to the moonlight but she manages to make out a big city. Thinking that could solve all her problems she heads for the city. But something makes her freeze dead in her tracks. She looks over at a wanted poster with her face.

"Starlight wanted extremely dangerous if found report to royal guards immediately large cash sum reward. Extremely dangerous? What is going on? What did I do?!" Starlight says in panic.

Instead of sitting on the thought Starlight continues to the city in the distance. When she arrives she finds out that it wasn't a city but it was more like a big village. Starlight looks around to see white ponies with gold armor holding flashlights and searching the town. No pony was on the street due to the fact that it was 3:00 at night

"I've got to be more careful. I'm apparently wanted for something. I just wish I knew what." Starlight said quietly.

All of sudden Starlight's head starts to hurt and she has a flashback.

"You were never meant to see the light of day. I asked for a foal not a weapon."

There's knocking heard on the door.

"Tia?"

"I'll deal with you tomorrow."

"Who was that talking to me? Why did she wanna get rid of me?"  Starlight says to herself confused

As Starlight was contemplating this she hears somepony yelling. She turns around to see a guard pointing at her. Starlight starts running. As she runs she passes other guards who attempt to grab her but Starlight avoids them. Starlight keeps running until a large group of Pegasus guards jumps her from a nearby ally. One guard who appears to be a unicorn points his horn at Starlight's head his horn Started glowing white. Starlight's eyes start to get heavy. She recognizes this spell. Its a sleep spell this was used by mother unicorns or nurses to put foals asleep when they can't sleep or are just crying. The last she remembers is seeing the guards dragging her to a palace. Starlight wakes up in a room with somepony standing in front of her. The pony was white with a blue, green, pink, and purple mane and tail. She appears to have horn and wings just like starlight but she also is wearing a gold tiara and boots. The mysterious pony speaks up.

"Somepony seems to be awake." says the mysterious pony.

"Who are you?!" Starlight asked in anger.

"I am Princess Celestia the ruler of equestria. I raise the sun and my little sister Princess Luna raises the moon." said the Princess.

The voice was all to familiar. It was the voice of the one who wanted to kill her.

"Tell me who are you and what do you want with me?!" Starlight asks hoping to get some answers.

The Princess doesn't respond except walks closer to Starlight. Starlight starts to back up as she walks. Finally Starlight's flank hits the end of the room. Starlight starts to tear up, Starlight tries to stay strong but something inside her was telling her to give in and cry, This feeling finally takes over and Starlight bursts into full blown tears. As Starlight cries it feels weird almost natural to her worries away she didn't know why and she didn't care Starlight just kept on crying. Starlight looks up at Princess Celestia still crying immensely. The Princess turns around Starlight sees this and takes her chances trying to get some answers. Starlight stops crying long enough to talk to the Princess of the sun.

"Explain to what I am please!" Starlight pleaded.

Celestia takes a deep breath. She gives Starlight two simple words.

"You're magic." Said Celestia.

Starlight stops sniffling and lightly crying all together as she seems utterly confused still.

"What do you mean magic?" asked Starlight.

"I created you from other ponies magic. My own, Luna's, and Nightmare moons. You are a completely different species of pony. One that doesn't run on blood but instead on magic." Princess Celestia explained.

Starlight is shocked and but also intrigued.

"I was afraid that because of all this power you would start to hurt other ponies. But I'm not sure now. You seem like nothing but a harmless foal. Maybe my little sister was right maybe you are just foal looking for love. I'm not sure about either anymore." Celestia said in sorrow.

The Princess sits down having said so much in so little time. Starlight feeling her pain emanate like waves goes to her. She lays by the Princesses side and cuddles her.

"What do you mean by foal?" Starlight asks sniffling.

"You have no intended age so I categorized you as a three year old foal because that was the age I was aiming for." Celestia explains.

"So if your my mommy then why did you try to kill me?" Starlight asked again hoping for a better answer.

"Because you aren't what I originally wanted. I wanted a flesh in blood foal that was small and cute. Not a time bomb waiting to go off when I least expect it." said Princess Celestia.

Starlight backs off hurt by this. Starlight walks over to the other side of the room and lays down. Hours pass till Starlight yawns and starts to get sleepy. The Princess notices and tries to pull the foal closer with her magic. Starlight notices this and tries to resist but her attempts are futile she gives into the magical pull. When Starlight gets to the Princess a wing is put over Starlight to keep her warm. When Starlight's face hits Celestia's coat she starts to feel safer in a way this was cast away as the door to the room opens. In comes a blue alicorn with a starry night mane and tail. This one also appeared to be wearing a tiara and boots only the color was blueish black instead of gold. Starlight finally falls asleep not caring about who the pony was or what part she played in this.

"Tia I wanted..to" Princess Luna said.

Luna looks over to see the now asleep Starlight under Celestia's wing.

"What are you going to do with her?" Princess Luna asked.

"I'm not sure. I mean she seems harmless. But something tells me this wont last for very long." The Princess said with worry.

Princess Celestia stands up. She uses the magic inside her to lift the sleeping starlight up and onto her back. Princess Luna says nothing but follows her. Both the Princesses arrive at Celestia's room decor obviously sun related. The Princess Lays Starlight on her bedspread which has a giant version of her sun cutie mark on it.

"Lets leave her to rest. I need to stop the search and think on this more." said Celestia.

They both leave, hours later Starlight wakes up from the fact that she wasn't in a bed anymore. She above a plain of grass which confused her slightly, but the thing that really got her confused was that there was a black alicorn it had the same starry night mane and tail as the last pony except it was wearing armor. A blue helmet, blue boots, and a blue necklace armor piece. Starlight wriggles free of her fillynapper this making the pony stop and turn around.

"Get back here now." said The pony in seething anger.

"Who are you!?" Starlight shouts with anger.

"My my I'm surprised your so called mother didn't tell you about me. Then again she was always a lazy pony." Nightmare says with anger.

"My mommy is not lazy! Now I'm gonna make you eat those words!" Starlight yells.

Starlight poses ready for a fight.

"ha-ha don't flatter yourself kid! Your nothing special. You think just because your made with my magic and your so called mothers magic and that other losers magic means your ready to fight me! ha don't make me laugh!" Nightmare said in a mocking tone.

"I don't plan on making you laugh I plan on making you beg for mercy." Said Starlight.

Starlight charges for nightmare moon. But nightmare simply shoots lightning at starlight make her slam into the ground below. Starlight looks up obviously now in severe pain.

"Ugh my body. I-I can't move." Starlight says in pain.

Nightmare moon out of pure anger and ferociousness thrusts her horn into Starlight's body. Then she proceeds to slash Starlight constantly. The last thing Starlight sees before going unconsciousness is a white blur fighting Nightmare moon coming to rescue.
