The Story of Starlight

Chapter 2

Starlight wakes up vision blurred and her hearing muffled. She was aching all over and she could hardly move. Starlight sits up and looks around trying to make out all the distorted shapes bit by bit Starlight's vision starts to return. She soon realizes shes in that shes in a hospital bandaged up at the middle of her body. The room was dark except for the beams of light shining through the blinds on the window. Starlight looks over to her right to see a mirror on a table she picks it up and examines herself.

"Alright lets see how I look" Says Starlight.

When Starlight looks into the mirror. It appears that she has a bandaged horn and her face has a few scratches.

"Wow I took a beating. I wonder what happened after I fainted? It doesn't matter I just need to get out of here Nightmare Moon isn't around so now would be a good time to escape." Says Starlight

Just then the door opens and a nurse comes in. Shes a unicorn with a light blue coat and mint green mane and tail. She stops and looks at Starlight.

"You're awake!" says Nurse Tenderheart astonished.

"Um yea. hi?" Starlight says awkwardly.

"No no no! Its ok! I'm just here to check if your wet is all nothing more." says Tenderheart in a calm tone.

Starlight scratches her head confused.

"If I'm wet? What do you mean if I'm wet?" asked Starlight.

The nurse pulled the covers back revealing that Starlight was wearing a diaper. Starlight looked ready to run away and never come back but she lets the nurse checked her first. When the nurse leaves Starlight gets out of the bed. She rips off the diaper and heads for the door. Before she can even react the door knob starts to turn.

"Not good!" Starlight says frantically.

She looks for another place to escape. She sees the window behind her is open. She gallops and jumps outside landing on her hooves. This was a bad idea because it shoots pain in all directions of Starlight's body. Starlight grits her teeth and gallops as far as she can from the hospital wanting to escape Nightmare moons grasp while she can. When she gets enough distance she jumps into an alleyway and takes a breather.

"You really shouldn't run from the ponies who saved you" Said the mysterious pony.

Start nearly jumps out of her skin when she hears the pony talk. She lays down hooves over heading cowering in fear not hearing the last part of the mysterious ponies sentence.

"I'm sorry Nightmare Moon! I'll cooperate! I promise!" Said Starlight almost in tears.

The pony comes further out of the alleyway revealing that she is no other than Princess Luna.

"Relax Starlight. I'm not going to hurt you." Luna said trying to calm Starlight.

Starlight looks up to see its Luna without even hesitating she jumps up and hugs the alicorn tightly.

"What happened? Why am I so banged up! Give me answers!" Asked Starlight.

"In time lets just go home. We have things to talk about." Said Luna flatly

Luna takes Starlight back to the castle and into Celestia's study. Starlight hadn't noticed it before but she was in Canterlot all along.

"Take a seat." Said Luna.

Starlight walks over to a giant pillow and lays down on it.

"Your mother couldn't tell you this because shes currently in Saddle Arabia. But I understand you saw Nightmare moon. Shes not the real Nightmare moon." Says Luna.

"Hows that possible? In fact who is Nightmare Moon!?" Starlight Blurts out.

"Celestia gave you limited knowledge on some things like magic spells and certain enemies she wanted you to know about. But Celestia I guess she forgot to tell you about Nightmare Moon...." Luna pauses.

Luna sighs heavily.

"Nightmare Moon is an evil version of me and the Nightmare moon that took you was created by your mother." Luna finally admits.

Starlight says nothing but sits there idol.

"She created her when she tried to create the perfect foal. First time she got Nightmare. Second time she got you."  Luna Explained.

Starlight sits there contemplating over everything Luna just said.

"Moving on." Says Luna

Luna pulls out a brown bag from behind one of the pillows. She sets it on the table and levitates out a pack of mare sized diapers. On the front in big letters was "For mares who's problems reside in the night".

"Your going to need these every time you go to sleep. Unless you want to wake up cold and wet." Luna said

Luna had spared no expense sugar coating the truth for Starlight even if she was a foal in age. Starlight carefully pokes the package nervous and frightened of them.

"Don't worry I've come across plenty of ponies with the same issue as you." Said Luna.

"But how is I have this problem!" Starlight says scared and confused.

"When your were created your bladder was never fully developed. " Luna explains.

Starlight looks down. Luna feeling sad for the poor foal changes the subject.

"I saw your dream about you and Celestia. Then nightmare moon." say Luna

"....Wait how do you know about that!?" Asks Starlight

"I have the power to go into ponies dreams. I only do it to nudge them in the right direction." Luna explains

"Sure you do Luna" Starlight says sarcastically.

"I'll prove it to you. I know that you fear nightmare moon. I know that you want to impress Celestia even though you have mixed feelings about her." Says Luna.

Starlight doesn't say anything but sit there and moves her hoof back and forth awkwardly.

"Come. Let me show you to your temporary Quarters." Luna says walking off.

Starlight follows Luna while carrying the package with magic. She lags behind Luna not really wanting to be in the company of the Princess of the night after everything that was said earlier. Finally Starlight arrives at what looks to be a nursery but the only out of place was that there's a bed in the middle of the room. Luna takes the package from Starlight and places it on the changing table to her right.

"You'll sleep here till we get you a proper room." Says Luna.

"It's a nursery. Why do I have to sleep in a nursery?" Starlight asks.

"It's not like your sleeping in the crib your 3 years old anyway, But if you must know this was built for the so called foal my sister wanted." Says Luna

Starlight ignores the hurtful comment although it didn't seem intentional it still hurt her.

"Fine. Just leave me be for now. I want to be alone." Starlight says with no emotion.

Luna nods and leaves Starlight alone in the nursery.
