As my hooves hit the stone, cold floor, I panted. Not being able to use my wings was my worst nightmare, I could hear a soft voice calling my name,"Moonbeam, oh Moonbeam!" It said over and over again in my head.
Just as she caught me, everything went pitch black.

When I awoke I was back in my room somehow, just like it had been before the worst experience of my young life had happened.
I looked around and saw my dream was real, but in my on bedroom instead of in the stoney place i drempt it had been. My friends where tugging on the strings. Another tug, and they were loose. I got up, stumbled for a few seconds and galloped as fast as I could.
When I could no longer even trot, I looked back to see Mistchaser and Storytale just a couple of steps behind me.
"EEEK!" I scream and ran into a figure. I looked up. The Shadow.

As PonyVille came into sight i could not help but think what everypony will think.
We flew right into Town Square. As we desended to the ground, ponies trotted up from all over PonyVille.
The ponies below hooted and hollered, some of the fillies from school where whispering, the colts staring, jaws had hit the floor at sight of me.
Mistchaser and Storytale landed safely on the ground. As Twilight Sparkle and Surprise pushed through the crowd, fillies and colts surronded them. When Twilight and Surprise reached the two fillies I started to desend at the sight of Rarity coming out of the Carosel Boutique with a buffutled look on her face, obviously confused.
I didn't want her to see me. Once I hit the ground I saw a last glimpse of Storytale and Mistchaser being pulled out of the crowd.
"Moonbeam!" I heard Rarity call, obviously not recognizing me.
"Rarity, I mean Mom!" I called out.
"Moonbeam?" Rarity was looking straight at me.
"Lets get out of here." I siad to my so called mother, I looked nothing like while gesturing to Storytale's rock.
As I started to fly, Rarity hopped on Storytale's rock and I levitated it with ease.
We flew out over PonyVilee towards Fluttershy's Cottage.
When we finally desended to the ground, I started to explain what had happened.

"Oh, Moonbeam, I hate that you had to find out this way." Rarity started to cry.
"Mom, was I really adopted?" I asked.
"Not exactly," Rarity started,"It's time for you to know how you came into my life."
I sat down ready to hear a long story.
"Okay, it was a gloomy night. I was running lat e on a set of dresses I had to deliver in two days. I had been in so much stress, when I heard a faint cry from outside in the rain. I gallopped out my front door to find a delightful surprise. My bad day was behind me. I took you into my hooves as if you were my own." Rarity started crying again,"I kept you for the night, but the next morning my mind was set on finding your parents. I never found them. So I decided that I would be your guardian and parent until you could provide for yourself. You've almost made it. I still remember the day I found you like it was just yesterday." Rarity was weeping now.
"Oh, Mom,don't cry, I'm not going to leave." I reassured her.
As we walked back to the Carosel Boutique in silence.
When we entered the Boutique, Rarity had a few customers waiting.
"Oh my, I'm so sorry dears!" she said and took them into a back room to get their dresses fitted.
I was mad. She didn't even look at me before heading to work. 'The customers are always right, Moonbeam.' I remember her once saying to me as a young filly.
I stomped out the Boutique with a loud, "UGH!!" and slammed the door.
As I took off flying, I realized that I had nowhere to go that I wouldn't be surrounded by ponies of all ages.

So I just flew in circles over the boutique. I saw StoryTale and MistChaser approach the store. I could faintly see because I didn't have my glasses, StoryTale looked like she was attempting to call to me, I pretended not to notice them, and I was good at it.

"MistChaser can you go get Moonbeam for me?" StoryTale said.
"If I can catch her." MistChaser replied.
MistChaser flew up fast, but she wasn't fast enough. Moonbeam had seen her take off toward her, and had had a grin on her face that looked to be a look of mock and thinking, "HAHA! You can catch me" kind of look.

MistChaser stopped after she saw that look. Obviously shocked at her friends action.

Then not to soon after I saw her calling me, MistChaser had taken off toward me. I looked back at her and put on my most evil grin and took off. I zipped through the sky, MistChaser more than a mile away, had finally given up and I started to slow. I knew they would eventually ask Rainbow Dash for help, I just didn't know when.

MistChaser flew off toward CloudsDale, forgetting completely about StoryTale. StoryTale was confused. She thought out loud on what Moonbeam's problem was. Not too soon after she found herself at the library. StoryTale trotted into the library to speak with Twilight.

Rarity rushed around the boutique trying to find her adopted daughter,"MOONBEAM!" she called.
"Sweetie Belle?" Rarity started,"Have you seen Moonbeam?"
"Why are you asking me? I haven't seen her since yesterday." Sweetie said.
"I don't know, I'm just worried sick! I have to find her!" Rarity yelled probably angry at herself before rushing out the door.
Rarity raced through the streets of PonyVille, she went to Fluttershy's first, knowing Moonbeam had a tendency to talk to Fluttershy when she was upset.
"Fluttershy, darling, has Moonbeam been here? I can't find her!" Rarity said panicked.
"Oh my, did she run away?" Fluttershy said in her soft, innocent voice.
"I honestly have no clue. Will you help me find her?" Rarity asked.
"Why of course Rarity, what are friends for." Fluttershy said before putting Angel in charge while she was gone.
As the two friends walked down the path they ran into Pinkie Pie.
"Pinkie!" Rarity started, "Have you seen Moonbeam anywhere?"
"Actually yes I have!" Pinkie answered happily. "Why are you playing hide-and-seek? I just love hide and seek!"
"Where?!" Rarity almost scream.
"She flew off toward Canterlot." Pinkie Pie answered confused at Rarity's reaction.

"I have to find her!"

I slowly descended towards Canterlot. I had to be careful so nopony would think I was an outcast. I used a spell I can't remember that can move things from one place miles away to you. I used to teleport one of Rarity's Canterlot worthy ensembles so I wouldn't stand out in the crowd. After I got the perfect one, I slowly galloped out of the alleyway I had landed in. Surprisingly the castle wasn't too far from where I was now. Now I need to think of a way to get into see Princess Celestia, but how? Hmmm
I thought. What if I said it was urgent that I see the princess right away. No, they would just say they would pass on a message. Without thinking I looked back at my wings... "DUH!" I said why didn't I think of this earlier?
As I slowly started over the gate, I got spotted. "Hey! You! No trespassing on castle grounds without an invitation from a princess or resident!" The guard said.
"Oh it's okay! I'm a Princess!" I yelled down to him.
A few seconds passed and I was having photos taken of me and Pegasus ponies were swarming around me.
Being a princess of magic and potions and what not I knew exactly what to do. A force field. It took a lot of energy but I did it and it lasted long enough, so it worked. Walking into the castle was a totally different problem.

Chapter One

I woke up with a start. Glad I didn't have to bare anymore of the horrid nightmare.
I was relieved to find all my friends that had slept over to be alright. I rushed to the bathroom to see a dark blue pony with a black mane,and a unicorn horn, staring back at me. My reflection. My face was covered in sweat.
As I washed my face, I saw my friends, Mistchaser and Storytale,look into the room.
"Everything okay, Moonbeam?" Storytale asked concerned. Storytale was a tan unicorn with a brown mane, and was very goofy like myself and Mistchaser.
"Just fine," I answered. I looked at Mistchaser, a light blue pegasus with a purple mane with black tips, she looked frightened.
"Mistchaser, what are you looking at?" Storytale questioned.
The lights went black. I heard a scream that sounded alot like Storytale.
"Storytale!" Mistchaser and I Yelled at the same time.
"HELP ME!!!" Storytale screamed.
I heard the pond of hooves run towards me, I started to panic, then I woke up after supposably dozing off.
"AHHH!!!" I scream, after i saw my friends chained to the wall. I tried to run to them, but I felt a tugging on my throat.
I looked down to see a collar chaining me to the floor.
"MOONBEAM!" somepony in the shadows yelled at me, "You don't want to end up like them do you?"
"No...." I siad glumly, as if I knew the mysterious pony. I have to make sure nothing happens to them, I thought.
After I had fallen asleep I drempt that my friends were missing, I was unchained. As I ran down the corridor I felt my heart pounding, as if it was going to jump out of my chest any moment.
I heard groans from all directions, panic struck me once again. I felt a hoof on my shoulder, I turned my head to see my friends saying,"Give up, there's no use in fighting it."
I panicked, kicking both my friends in each of their faces. I ran and ran screaming,"NO, NO, THIS CAN'T BE HAPPENING!!"
I ran as fast as my hooves would carry me. I could see Mistchaser and Storytale tugging on their strings holding them to the wall. I wasn't watching where I was going and I hit my head on a wall.
My eyes fluttered open as i sat on the stone, cold floor.

As I stepped back for some space, Mistchaser and Storytale placed a hoof on each of my shoulders. I panicked, and started to levitate Mistchaser, Storytale, and the Shadow all at the same time. As my horn grew brighter the more magic I handled. As I charged my horn for a huge blast my friends no longer acted like zombie-ponies, Storytale actually dug deep into her magic, levitating the Shadow, while I charged all of my magic into the blast. As I released the ray of magic the Shadow had disappeared, and in it's place was a changeling.
"GET HIM!!!" Mistcahaser yelled(obviously infuriated that she was held prisoner to the low life of a changeling)following the monster down the hall.
"Moonbeam!" Storytale said happily.
"What?" I asked confused at her enthusiasm.
"Look!" She pointed to my flank, it was my cutie mark.
"It's my medalian!" I gasped, I hadn't been wearing it because i didn't want to damage it and my sleep.
"What does this mean?" Storytale questioned.
"I think I might be somewhat of a talent mix between Twilight and Zecora." I replied excitedly.
"Magic and Potions?" Storytale asked no one in perticular.
Suddenly a flash of light blinded us,and I heard a firmiliar voice.
"Moonbeam, my daughter," Rarity, I thought, "you have succeeded in finding your cutie mark, now the time has come for me to relieve you of my spell."
"Spell? What spell?" I questioned.
I started to float into mid-air, the bright light vanished. I floated down to the floor. Storytale's jaw hit the floor.
"Storytale?" Mistchaser walked up from behind, and her jaw dropped instantly after looking at me. I conjered up a mirror, to find I was now unbelievably, an Alicorn.

I couldn't believe what I saw. I didn't even know I had wings! I flapped them with barely the thought of flying.
I thought of flapping my new found wings, feeling the breeze in my mane, nothing to stop me except Mistchaser and other pegasi.
While I thought of flying I actually did. I swooped and swirled, dipped and dived, twist and turned, but mostly I just flew freely as much as possible.
Mistchaser began, "I had to put great thought when flying as you probably do now, eventually you won't even have to think to fly, you just fly."
"It's the most wonderful feeling I've ever had, flying, the wind in my face, it's perfect!" I replied a little too happy to be an Alicorn.
"okay Miss Fancy Alicorn Pony let's this drab cave." Storytale said acting a bit like Rarity.
"Oh, Storytale, who would have known? I mean what will everypony say? I don't want to be an outcast, or the center of popularity, I just want to be me." I said worried.
"I don't know Moonbeam. Your a princess. You might just have to go Canterlot on Royal Business." Storytale said glumly.
"I don't want you to leave Moonbeam!" yelled Mistchaser.
"I don't either. I hope if I do you guys can come with." I replied to their sad faces.
"That would still be a sad perk. You know you would be taught by more than Princess Celestia." Mistchaser said blandly.
"Who knows? Can we just drop the 'I might be leaving to Canterlot' bit." I said with no emotion.
We walked out of the strange cave we were held captive.
When we finally saw the light of day, we saw trees, dark trees, we were in the Everfree Forest.
"How will we find our way back?" Starytale asked me.
"Mistchaser and I could fly back, but that would leave you alone, in there." I answered.
"Hmmmm..." Mistchaser thought out loud, "AH, HA!" Mistchaser in success of an idea.
"What? What?" I asked in a yell.
"Storytale, stand on that rock over there," pointing to a loose rock able to hold one pony,"Now, Moonbeam, levitate the rock." I levitated the rock Storytale stood on and started thinking of flying and everything I felt during flight.
As we off toward PonyVille I didn't have to think as hard when flying, I was accessing the ability to fly instantly.
