After the restoration of the Crystal Empire, a dreadful snowstorm, driven by the forces of nature, threatens to encompass the whole Frozen North in a blizzard. Princess Candace is well enough to protect her kingdom from the storm with an energy field until it passes, but the same cannot be said for Shining Armor. Almost hours after leaving the Empire, Shining's train back to Canterlot is caught in the storm, and he is stranded in the middle of the Frozen North.
