Prologue

It was completely dark in Ponyville. There was no light except that of shining Princess Luna, galloping across the skies. Long shadows stretched across the ground. Among the shadows, a pair of eyes opened, one pale silver, and the other bright green. They scanned the empty square. Moving silently, they darted amongst the shadows until they were close to the light. Tentatively, the pony to whom the eyes belonged stepped into the light. Silver as the moon, with a jet-black mane and tail, she shone in the darkness. She trotted across the square to a huge tree with a door. Curling up on the front step, she settled down for the night. Closing her eyes, she saw the cutie mark on her flank. It was a single ray of light shining through a black cloud. Light she thought sleepily. I am Light.

End Prologue
