A new beginning

Me and Dash were in a open field just outside of Ponyville.

"Okay first things first I need to look at your wings." Dash says.

"What why?" I ask

"Look do you want to fly or not, because if your wings formed wrong then you'll never fly." Dash says not answering my question.

""Fine but can we stay high once I'm able to fly I have a strange thing with heights." I say.

"Great someone who's scared to fly low I bet you gonna say you hate going fast next." She says gritting her teeth.

"Did you say fast I love if I can fly fast I could care less about height." I say with sudden enthusiasm.

"Finally now let me see those wings." she says walking over too me. Dash started poking randomly at my wing it hurt a little but more like massage hurt.

"Well the wings themselves should be able lift you up, but it will take you a minute to get any amount of good speed, at least until you build up your wing muscles." Dash says finishing her diagnosis.

"Well as long as I can fly at anything faster than a rabbit or something like that it's fine with me." I respond thinking (Yes, I get to fly with Rainbow Dash.

"Oh trust me, once you get to the best of you ability you'll be able to fly faster than that." Rainbow says.

"Look so first try and flap your wings."

"Ummm. I can't move my wings." I say. Rainbow Dash just starts putting on what I believe would be her thinking face.

"Oh I know why I didn't press that one pressure point." She says going back to my wings. She pokes this one point in my back right between my wings and all the sudden my entire back is filled with pain.

"OW!" I yell.

"What!" Rainbow says not expecting this.

:That really hurt." I say as the pain fades away.

"Figures, well it wasn't supposed to hurt that bad, but what ever move your wings." She says.

"Fine." I say grumbling a little. A I pull my wings up I realize how much power there already is in them, with that thought finished I snap my wings down stunning Rainbow and launching me in the air.

"This is awesome!" I yell flapping to keep my self in the air.

"Hey is this supposed to come naturally?" I ask knowing that even full grown birds need to actually need to be taught to fly.

"No no it isn't!" She says obviously surprised.

"Well it is for me!" I yell as I start to fly around. And then the obvious happens a flash of light has to appear as I start to land so I tumble onto my face.

"Ow." I grumble.

"What was that." Rainbow says trying not to laugh.

"No bucking Idea." I say getting up.

"What ever it was it 'caused me a lot of pain" I say as Rainbow looks at my flank in shock.

"Hello Rainbow Rainbow Dash anyone in there." I say.

"Your flank." Rainbow says pointing at it.

"Yeah my flank what about it." I say getting a little annoyed.

"Look!" she says forcing me to look.

"Yeah a cutie mark what about..... wait, did I just say cutie mark." I say looking again. There it is my cutie mark, A pair of gold wings attached to a burning heart.

"Hey is that a cutie mark?!?!" Pinkie Pie says appearing from no where (I've been here about three days you get used to her doing this pretty quickly)

"yes Pinkie apparently I have a flying cutie mark." I say smiling.

"Great now I get to test my magic box!" Pinkie says disappearing in a blur of pink.

"Umm, did she say magic box?" I ask Rainbow

"Yeah, probably something Twilight made. Quick question though you've been staying at twilight's without a job what are you going to do?" Rainbow asks.

"Ive been looking for a job, but I can't find anything. And there's no empty houses I can move into, I've been studying clouds though so maybe I could make a cloud house but i haven't found a large enough cloud and I don't feel like looking for a bunch of the same kind of cloud." I say worried for my future. I mean who wouldn't be I am technically thirteen turned into a sixteen or seventeen year old meaning I'm pretty much screwed because i have to fight I evil alicorn and i can't even use magic yet.

"Umm." Rainbow says biting her lip.

"Umm, what?" I ask.

"It was just a bad Idea." She says

"There are few bad idea unless it will cause mass chaos lack of bits or something like that I'm all ears." I say.

"Well you could always stay with me while you wait for the right cloud to come plus we have a opening for lightning patrol." She says a little embarrassed.

"Well first what's lightning patrol? second I see no problem with this Idea plus it will allow me to get used to sleeping in clouds." I say.

"Well to answer your question about lightning patrol basically you just have to spot thunder clouds and discharge them somewhere safe plus discharged thunder clouds provide excellent house materials, and too be clear your fine with sleeping on cloud couches right cause that's where you'd sleep." she says getting exited towards the end.

"Well I like the job idea second couches are better than wood flours any day." I say "Well I think this discussion is done lets see how fast I can fly!" I yell as I burst into the air. For the rest of the afternoon me and Rainbow just flew until eventually she led me too her house.

"Shit" I say as I land.

"What." Rainbow says obviously surprised at my sudden out burst.

"I forgot to tell Twilight that I was sleeping here now until I could get a house." I say.

"Oh, well that's fine I found a way to send messages to Twilight via Spike and Rainbows." She says.

"Um how does that work?" I ask getting really confused.

"Look if I put a drop of liquid rainbow in a fire than I can mail a letter to any one they don't need a dragon but having one is quicker." she says not even pausing for a breath.

"Oh okay now it makes sense, Didn't Pinkie try rainbow once in Cloudsdale?" I ask her.

"Yeah what you want to try some?" She asks smirking.

"Maybe I will I like spicy foods."

"well come on I have a rainbow fountain on the back porch."

"Awesome" I say as we approach.

"I'd only dip the tip of my hoof in." she says.

"That to me sounds like a dare to have more than the tip." I say challengingly

"Yep, now do it." she says

"Fine." I say as I cover the entire bottom of my hoof in rainbow. I take a lick and all goes black.
