The Only Love

For the next few weeks, Fluttershy nursed my back to heath, mostly helping with the stress of this new world. During this time, Fluttershy and I developed  a special relationship as friends.

She continued to pester me on how I ended up in her garden, I told her about the night before, holding some details from the story. Saying I was put in a hospital due to a car accident.  I explained that I didn't what to burden her with the details. She insisted, saying “If I didn't tell someone, it would drive me crazy.”

I caved.

“The week before I woke up in Equestria, I was in a major car wreck, the driver was drunk. I was driving my baby sister home during a light rain storm. The roads weren't that bad, but this – this jackass somehow jackknifed his 18-wheeler into my car, we were going 60mph. My baby sister didn't make it. She suffered, slowly suffocating. She had internal bleeding above the stomach, slowly compressing her lungs.”

“I soon fell into a dark depression, nearly ending myself. I was caught by my mother, later admitted to a hospital on suicide watch. The last thing I remember was a very sharp pain in the center of my chest,  I then woke up looking at you”

After a long pause, she said

“Wow, you went through a lot. I'm sorry I-”

“It wasn't your fault, you don't have to be sorry.”

Her beautiful eyes were starting to water.

“No, please, Don't cry.”

In my effort to stop her, I held her close and hugged her. I could feel the tears on my shoulder. I tried harder and hugged even closer. I could hear sobs now and my entire shoulder was wet. I didn't know what else to do, I panicked, acted on impulse.

Hugging close, I kissed her, she stop crying. It felt like a eternally before she broke the kiss. Her checks were burning red.

“I- Sorry Fluttershy, I just didn't want you to cry.”

She didn't answer, just stared at me. Thinking to my self “I shouldn't have done that. I should have just shut my mouth.”

She slowly pulled my head closer to hers, the whispered into my ear.

“Thank you.”

This time she kissed me, lasting longer. I could feel her closer to me. She then broke the kiss and placed her head on my chest. We both fell asleep in each others' embrace.

The next morning, I awoke to her still sleeping on me, I tried to move her but she awoke. The sun hit her eyes, her beautiful turquoise eyes shined. Staring back at me.

She had said only one thing

“Hi”
