Dragon State
Hello Traitor
Previous ChapterNext ChapterIt was a beautiful day when The King and Queen of Griffonia left for Canterlot with their most trusted and loyal bodyguard. No one could ever say that there was anything odd about that day, unless they looked to the hills not too far from the castle and noticed the five dark silhouettes up top.
“Do you really think he is that stubborn? What do you bet he only just realized something is wrong?” the dragon god asked. King Sombra replied with a cold hiss
“Of courssse he isss the drag-GAAAH!” the dark unicorn could barely finish before Wrath launched himself at the dark pony and soon had him in his clutches
“DON’T YOU DARE CALL HIM THAT! HE IS A BLOOD TRAITOR AND NOTHING ELSE! HE IS NOT PURE!” the god hissed carefully not to raise his voice too loud to draw attention to the group. The fallen king soon gained his composure again
“Very well then. The blood traitor, as we will call him now, isss ssso easy to manipulate. Once you know hisss true fear he becomesss the perfect puppet.” While the two creatures at the entrance were consumed in their conversation, elsewhere the rest of their group were busy setting up the remainder of the camp. This gave the gryphon time to examine his new form. While technically still a gryphon but now with multiple beaks and reeking of dead flesh, he thinks to himself This is not natural. I was a proud warrior once, and now this?
“Do not waste your time trying to figure out your new form,” the armored unicorn, named Blood Moon, said as though reading the gryphon’s thought, “Just be grateful that the Master decided to give you this form. We considered a far worse option. Don’t forget that it was he that allowed you to take your kingdom back.” With that last word the unicorn finally got the tent set up as night fell. The time was perfect to call to the demon that brought all of them together. “Dusk, get the mirror ready. I must report back to our Master.” Blood Moon said and the tall dark alicorn of war disappeared into shadows to retrieve the item.
It had been nearly 5 days since Spike, Twilight, and Rainbow left for Canterlot. The journey to the palace was a long but uneventful trip. All the way up there Spike had this strange emotion that was eating him up and he couldn’t figure out what it was. It’s probably just separation anxiety. After all, I haven't left my daughters side since she was abducted by that alien. He thought to himself. He relaxed soon after the thought entered his mind and he drifted into sleep and for once no nightmares came to plague his mind. In their place was a peace he has not had in some time.
Celestia kept pacing back and forth within the old war room, which has not been in use since the Griffon-Pony war, tiring her fetlocks out with worry. What could be taking them so long? Maybe they were ambushed by robbers or assassins. No if that were the case I would’ve heard Spike’s demonic roar.... something I do not wish to hear again. The Princess thought to herself
“Sister, what ails you now? You need to relax...they’ll be here soon.” Luna told her. Nothing seemed to soothe the ruler of the sun.
“Your younger sibling speaks true, Celestia. If what I remember about them is true, Twilight should be safe as long as Spike is near her.” An insectoid alicorn said appearing from the shadows of the dark room. The once fearsome queen of the changeling race now has become a peaceful ruler and was about to enter negotiations when she heard that horrid bell ring.
“I’m sorry but I still worry about her despite what happened in the past.” The sun princess said, remembering when she was given Twilight by a divine beast in order to help end the war sooner.Since then she has felt guilty using Twilight in such a manner and prayed she would never use her like that again. Spike wherever you and Twilight are now please make haste and return to me.
As it turned out nothing bad happened to them at all. They reached Canterlot early enough to actually relax before the meeting. They sent out a message to their four friends to meet them at the closest restaurant in the area. After about a two hour wait there was still no sign of them anywhere.
"You two do realize that Pinkie will be the first one to show up right?" Rainbow asked both Spike and Twilight
"We know, Rainbow.... but that's the problem. What if she doesn't come?" Twilight asked in her usual worried manner "I mean, I know she isn't normally late but what if something happened at sugar cube corner and she couldn't ma-MMMMPPPPPPHHHHHH!" Twilight stopped mid sentence when Spike cupped a clawed hand over her mouth.
"Twilight sweetie you need to relax she'll be here when she ge-GAAAAHHHHHH!" Spike half roared because of the sudden appearance of balloons and streamers which meant one thing. Pinkie Pie had brought not only the rest of the gang but also her famous party cannon to celebrate their return.
"ohhiguyssorrywecouldn'tshowupanysonnerbutthetrafficuphereissohorribleandthegirlsinsistedon-" whatever Pinkie was going to say next was drowned out by the gang hugging and talking among themselves. After about an hour of talking and eating with each other Spike noticed they were getting behind schedule by a mere five minutes.
"Well me and Twi have to get going. We have a meeting with the princesses and Chrysalis to discuss something that happened in the badlands near the changeling hive." He could feel the sadness coming off of them and he suddenly thought of something "You know.... they never said we couldn't have company aside from Rainbow now did they?" He said with a mischievous smile and Twilight smiled and nearly tackled him with her flying hug. The journey to reach the castle was longer than expected because they decided not to take a carriage. They finally got to the front porch and Twilight suddenly realized something I could've teleported us all the way here. Maybe I shouldn't say anything to them.
They found the war room guarded on all sides by three different guards, representing each of the rulers in the room "You girls stay out here. Me and Twilight are going to have to ride solo on this one. Sorry." Spike said. With that they headed into the conference. What caught both Spike and his wife off guard was how much bigger the room was on the inside compared to the short stature of the door they opened. The other was how regal the three alicorns appeared compared to what they normally looked like.
"Twilight, Spike I'm glad you could finally come. Now, why did you send out the letter to meet with us?" she asked and was surprised to see confused looks on both of their faces.
"We sent out a letter? Celestia I think you have the whole thing backwards you were the one who sent out the letter not us." Spike explained and all of a sudden he had a chill run through his body.... if neither of them sent out the letter than who did? The answer came in the form of a familiar cold voice.
"That would be our doing princessssss." Suddenly, a bolt of black lightning filled the room and knocked all the occupants back from the table. A column of black smoke started to slide down. When the smoke finally touched down it started to form the unmistakable figure of a very tall unicorn. The first thing that formed were his hooves, black as midnight, with iron boots covering them with spiked tips at the end. The next portion to form was the pony's body, most of which was covered by a long red cape with a white outline with black spots embroidered on them. All of this was nothing compared to when the head formed which revealed the dark colts face with long fangs protruding from his mouth. To top it all off, he wore a crown with his signature curved red horn. Sombra took a moment to breathe in the fear and hate he sensed within the room "Ah it'ssss good to be alive again." He looked around and laughed wickedly as he saw he was being given the evil eye by the only dragon in the room. "Ssso little one we meet again. Have any sssweet dreamsss during your reign?" Sombra asked Spike who responded with a very deep growl "I'll take that as a yesss then."
"I BEAT YOU ONCE DICK WAD I CAN DO SO AGAIN!" Spike yelled and he launched himself at the dark unicorn and he grabbed him on the first go That was way to easy. Spike thought to himself and was soon proven right by the sudden arrival of... himself. The dragon that he was soon having a grappling contest with was every bit like him but he had different colors that mirrored what he used to look like before he gained his throne; green with purple spines, and he was much fiercer than he expected. The dragon parried every single one of Spike's own moves, even his energy blasts seem to be somewhat superior versions of his own, and soon the older dragon wrestled Spike down to the floor his reverse wings flapping out and a sickening grin spread across his face.
"Hello blood traitor we meet at last." the dragon said to Spike
"Whoa, whoa, whoa time out who are you exactly now?"questioned Spike.
"Hmph.... you do not deserve to ask anything of me, you filth! But since I'm feeling generous, I'll have you know my name is Wrath and I am your doom." A blade suddenly appeared in his hand with a mere flick of his wrist. Spike knew what Wrath was planning on doing. He tried kneeing him in the balls to get away... and was met with success. The god of greed practically yelled in pain as he let go of his prey. "YOU ARROGANT WORM I'LL BUTCHER YOU FOR THAT!" He yelled but was soon pushed back by a blast from Twilight.
"Oh this will be fun. OKAY BOYS CURTAIN TIME!" The former god yelled and was soon answered by a screech from the gryphon warrior who busted through the stained glass windows with Blood Moon on his back, the latter of which jumped off and spread his own artificial bat wings. Twilight soon grew nervous. One enemy as powerful as the beings in front of them she and the others could handle with ease, two still no problem, three was pushing it, but four was going a little over their respective weight class.
"So what do you think nag? Ready for your first beat down?" The god of greed asked before flicking out a razor sharp claw and soon after rushed forward with blood on his mind.
