Confused And Alone

Many words are used to describe Trixie. Arrogant, foolish, stupid, rude, stuck up, annoying. The list goes on. Most ponies who ever meet her criticize her and call her these names, but the bullying only causes her more pain, and she tries to bring the pain back. It grows out to be a constant cycle of hurt and misery. Yet, no pony ever stands up to stop it. The rumors that spread through each town and city were always false. Always. No matter what I hear, I won’t call her any such names, because I'm one of the only ponies that's actually... nice.

Blaming others just for a small mistake or even rumors is more than a mistake. It’s hurting some pony who deserves more than he or she should receive. I know all this because my heart and soul are screaming the same words over and over again every time I see her. Even my mind is streaked with the same exact language and meaning. It screams louder than my voice.

I love Trixie.

Usually my day would end with the sound of the book closing in on itself. My mind full of new knowledge from the book I read. And the start of a new one the next morning. maybe running to the library for more books. It was a given cycle that I go through each day. But today was different from what I was usually needed to do.

While reading more about the Everfree forest, I found something interesting about what lives inside the scary woods. Poison Joke. The blue flower awed me, and inspired me to see what kinds of capabilities it held.

I took my saddle bag with me and ventured into Everfree. The forest always gave me a shiver down my spine. But I still held on to my sanity and kept going, until I saw a full field of blue. The Joke flower was everywhere, it reached through the undergrowth of the forest and kept going for many yards. Who knows how far? I carefully took out my scissors and looked around the field to find the perfect full grown flower. And there it was, its blue petals spread out over most of its own kind. I was careful not to step on the flowers, or let them touch my fur. I also read that they had "funny" after affects. With the scissors I cut the stem of the flower and quickly caught it with my mouth. Carefully putting it into the saddle bag. I looked back at the field. It still glowed bright blue. It was a magnificent sight. I turned back home, but somehow lost my way through the labyrinth these ponies call a forest. Dark shadows lurked at every corner. A few times I stepped in mud...that was moving. And I even freaked out a bit, but did not care to panic. Trees towered above me, and I swore, they had been looking at me with interest. Knowing I could not even run out of Everfree.

While looking my out, I suddenly heard...sobbing. Am I going crazy? Around a corner of a massive dead oak, was a little mare, crying on the hard cold dirt. Her coat was the color of light blue. Her mane gave a white and blue streak, and next to her was a small magicians hat, layered with purple and yellow stars. As she still wept, I could see her horn at the top of her forehead. Sparkled tears fell from her eyes and rolled down her cheeks.

By her cutie mark I could easily tell that she was the- and I quote- "Great and powerful Trixie". At this moment she didn't look at all great and powerful. More weak than most.

I heard stories about this mare too, that she’s horrible at magic. I really didn't believe any of it. I had to help her.

"Um...Are you okay?" I said.

Her eyes shot open. She lifted her head and stared at me like I was some sort of a wild animal, and she did so for a long amount of time. I didn't know what was going on in her head, but she was obviously lost for words, but trying to speak.

"GO AWAY!" She yelled.

I stepped back a bit, but didn't leave. I was that kind of pony who wanted to help others any way he can. This mare definitely needed help. Instead of just standing there like an idiot, I trotted be her side, and sat next to her. She looked at me like I was crazy, the corners of her eyes still flicked with tears.

"listen, I might not know what you are going through right now, but I can help you. I really can."

My father before me was a therapist, and he helped hundreds of ponies with their personal problems. I even picked up on what he used to do.

She stared down at the dirt and continued to cry.

"Please, just...just go away."

"Look, I...know who you are, your Trixie, correct? The "Great and Powerful"?"

That got her attention. She frowned and bared her teeth.

"You just came here to gloat, aren't you?!" She stuck the word with enough venom to kill ten ponies, let alone one. Trixie has obviously been hurt.

"No, I really want to help you; I know the pain that you went through after a certain encounter with another unicorn. Ponies gave you physical and mental pain. It's my responsibility to help other ponies in need. I won't criticize what your past has been like. I will do my very best to get you better."

Her eyes were wide, a bit touched by what I said.

"...I-"

Her words were cut off by the long slow mumble coming from her stomach.

"How about this, come home with me, and you can eat, and we can talk about what happened."

She gave a small nod, and got back on her feet. So did I.

Trixie and I both trotted out of the woods, side by side. And somehow being next to her made me feel a bit more...special. The following day...

Do you hear me, I'm talking to you

Across the water across the deep blue ocean

Under the open sky, oh my, baby I'm tryin'

Boy, I hear you in my dreams

I feel your whisper across the sea

I keep you with me in my heart

You make it easier when life gets hard

Lucky I'm in love with my best friend

Lucky to have been where I have been

Lucky to be coming home again

Ooohh ooooh oooh oooh ooh ooh ooh ooh

They don't know how long it takes

Waiting for a love like this

Every time we say goodbye

I wish we had one more kiss

I'll wait for you, I promise you, I will

Lucky I'm in love with my best friend

Lucky to have been where I have been

Lucky to be coming home again

Lucky we're in love in every way

Lucky to have stayed where we have stayed

Lucky to be coming home someday

And so I'm sailing through the sea

To an island where we'll meet

You'll hear the music fill the air

I'll put a flower in your hair

Though the breezes through the trees

Move so pretty you're all I see

As the world keeps spinning round

You hold me right here right now

Lucky I'm in love with my best friend

Lucky to have been where I have been

Lucky to be coming home again

I'm lucky we're in love in every way

Lucky to have stayed where we have stayed

Lucky to be coming home someday

"Touch it."

"No!"

"Just do it Trixie, you wont help yourself being in fear of this one small object."

"But it's Evil. Get it away from me!"

I put the wheel down. Trixie yielded her deep eyes and desperate call before slapping me across the face. The force from her hoof sailed me back in my seat.

"OW!"

"That's for forcing Trixie!"

I sighed.

Well on before I had met Trixie, I thought that it would be easy to help other ponies deal with their stressful problem, and no matter how foolish, I will never criticize a pony on their fears, beliefs, or lifestyle. But she was afraid of wheels. An Inanimate object used to transfer a cart or area from point A to point B. And she hated it. I have never met somepony who had such a hatred for it. I actually met a pony who was deathly afraid of cacti, but that was understandable.

After she hoofed slapped me, I trotted over to the kitchen counter to take a few pills of aspirin, and a tall glass of water. Three days she has been here, and she already moved to physically hurting me, and the aspirin was almost empty, even though I just bought it. Even I, the therapist, was getting to sick of being with this horrible blue excuse for a unicorn. But rules state that I wasn't supposed to say that to her face. Even if I really wanted to.

"SLAVE! Get Trixie more hay!" She yelled.

And that is also another...perk she keeps getting into. Calling me a slave and demanding me to carry her around in a cart with no wheels. I still can't get through to her.

"SLAVE!"

"Coming..."

In my cabinet, I took out a little snack bag of flavored hay, even more healthy than usual hay, and gave it to her. Within seconds she scarfed down the contents of the bag and threw it to the ground.

"MORE!"

Aren't I lucky?. My left eye started to twitch.
