Equestria's Demise

After they defeated the royal guards that had attacked, Discord and Queen Chrysalis traveled by nightfall toward the changeling castle. It took about an hour to get there flying at full speed.

When Chrysalis arrived with Discord at the main gate of the castle, they were greeted by a audience of thousands of changelings applauding and cheering for the queen

Discord  followed slowly behind Chrysalis as they past some changeling guards dressed in silver chain mail armor and had spears firmly touching the ground with the tip pointing up at the sky. The changeling guard saluted as Queen Chrysalis past them. Discord did not get such recognition and was irritated from the lack of respect

Discord caught up with Chrysalis and stated "Sooo this is your great army you have been talking about?"

Chrysalis simply said "Yes." and continued her stride to the castle entrance.

As they got to the entrance the two changeling guards pulled down on the levers on either side of them in perfect unison. The pulling of the levers revealed a cranking mechanism that allowed the draw-bridge to come down slowly.

Once the bridge was down Chrysalis and Discord walked across and into the large castle. In the castle main lobby torches were lit and place on the walls making just enough light to see. Two stairway entrances spiraled up on either side of Discord and Chrysalis.

NovaSwift proceeded to come down the staircase on the right. He took small hoof steps as he hurried down the stairs and into sight.

NovaSwift breathed heavily at the bottom of the stairs and moved toward Queen Chrysalis and bowed before her. Discord rolled his eyes, and still wasn't impressed with what he has seen thus far.

"My Queen! My Queen, it appears your trip to Canterlot has been a great success."

NovaSwift backed up and looked at Discord in his entirety. He was completely astonished at the sight of the nine foot beast.

Out of respect NovaSwift walked forward and introduced himself to Discord.

"Hello sir, I am NovaSwift, and I am Queen Chrysalis's head adviser. It is a pleasure to meet the lord of chaos." NovaSwift began to stick out his hoof to finish the greeting but was totally ignored by Discord. NovaSwift was shocked at the lack of mutual respect that Discord had toward him.

"My Queen, we must hurry to the meeting room. We have no time to waste."

Chrysalis nodded her head in agreement and began to follow her adviser up the stairs. She looked back at Discord signaling him to follow.

After trotting up three flights of stairs, they turned into a narrow hallway lit only by torches. Paintings of changeling war heroes were on both sides of the cobblestone walls and at the end of the hallway was a large mahogony door.

They proceeded to walk down the narrow hallway and into the room. Towards the center of the room was a large elongated table with a map of Equestria placed in the middle.

They surrounded the table and looked at the map from all directions. On the map there was battle plans drawn, and black, white, and pink flags in place. The black flags signified the Changeling Empire. White was for areas owned by Princess Celestia, and pink stood for the Crystal Empire.

NovaSwift then broke the silence and said "My queen, we must not waits any time."

Queen Chrysalis agreed by nodding her head and looked directly at Discord.

"Discord, to revive King Sombra, we need to combine our powers."

Discord piped in "And how exactly will that work?"

Chrysalis explained to Discord what was about to happen as she reached to the left of the table and grabbed a old dusty book.

"Discord, us changelings are extremely adept in deception and simple disguise, but we are most known for our dark magic. This book has been passed down from generation to generation in the changeling royal family."

Chrysalis fumbled through the pages of the book until she eventually stopped toward the middle of the book.

"This book holds almost all of the changeling's darkest secrets and forbidden magic spells."

Chrysalis moved in closer to Discord and showed him what was on the page. It was a resurrections spell made for two beings of great power and evil.

Discord smiled down at the book and was intrigued at what was to come next.
