Chapters Twilight wakes up in her bed looking over at her alarm clock and sees that she had slept much longer than intended. Usually she would complain about sleeping in so late but considering last night’s events she was willing to make an exception for herself this time. Speaking of last night’s events Twilight thinking to herself, I better go and check on Trixie and see how she is doing.
Getting off her bed she trots over to Spikes old room and knocks on the door, no answer was to be found. Waiting a few seconds there was no response she decides to knock on the door again a bit more loudly a few more times but still no response. Well I guess she must still be sleeping, she must have been out on the road for a good while Twilight said to herself may as well make some breakfast for the two of us, I am sure she would love to have something nice cooked for her for once rather than whatever awful food she must have been scavenging on her travels.
Heading back to her room she decides to clean herself up. Walking up to the mirror in her bedroom she uses her magic to levitate a nearby brush in the air and starts working all the knots out of her mane with brush. After a few minutes of brushing herself she decides to go downstairs and make breakfast.
Making her way downstairs to the kitchen she finds the library is quiet and a bit on the messy side unlike what it used to be when she used to hang out with her friends. There were stacks of books piled up in places on a few tables not even put back on their shelves where they belonged. Some of them had a noticeable amount of dust coated on them even. It also did not help the matter that Spike was not around to keep the place maintained anymore. Walking through the library and into the kitchen she decides she will make something up on the stove for Trixie.
Using her magic she floats a frying pan off of a nearby rack hanging above the stove, she puts it down on the stove and uses her magic to turn it on. Using her magic once again she opens the fridge and levitates a few eggs to the frying pan, cracks them off the side of the pan and dumps them inside putting the shells on the nearby counter.
Now I need one of my knives to chop up some vegetables Twilight said trotting over to the knife rack on another counter. Looking at the rack she notices something odd, one of the knives are missing from the rack and it is one of the knives she always usually uses whenever she cooks in her kitchen. Hmm maybe I misplaced it somewhere oh well may as well check on the eggs so they don’t burn Twilight said out loud. Trotting back over to the stove with the frying pan full of eggs she was about to gets the spatula when she felt something tapping her on the back of her head. Turning around she sees a pony with a plastic hockey mask wielding a razor sharp butcher knife, suddenly the pony yells boo mother fucker making a sudden jerking towards her with the blade.
Twilight let out a startled scream which resulted in her accidentally throwing the frying pan up in the air which ended up hitting her in the head and the eggs she was cooking landing on the floor. Ow fuck, what the hell she said angrily after realizing who she thought her assailant was.
Trixie taking off the hockey mask said I gotcha good there oh you should have seen the look on your face it was just priceless she said with a grin on her face. Twilight who heart was still pounding hard in her chest twisted her face in anger said for fucks sake Trixie what the hell is wrong with you. Trixie suddenly dropped to the floor dropping the knife aside and bursted out loud in a fit of laughter, bahaha the way you jumped was just too funny I never thought before interrupting herself with even more laughter. I never thought some pony like you would be so jumpy but I was wrong Trixie said. Twilight who’s face turned a considerable shade of red said that is not funny you jerk what if somepony got hurt then who would be laughing. Trixie then laughing harder than ever pounding her hooves off the floor said between breaths I have not seen someone react so much to my antics for a while are we ever going to get along great in the future.
Yeah we sure are going to get along just great Twilight said with sarcasm rolling her eyes. You mind waiting in the library while I get this cleaned up and fix us up some food. Trixie picking herself up off the floor walked up towards Twilight and jabbed her with one of her hooves said yeah sure thing miss jumpy. Uggh Twilight said rolling her eyes, whatever Trixie just let me clean this mess up which you caused.
After a few minutes of cleaning up and putting everything back in order breakfast was finally cooked, Twilight hovered the plates in the air towards the table in the library Trixie was sitting at and set them down in front of her and Trixie. Twilight seated herself at the table sitting at the seat facing Trixie and said one thing I want to make clear is while I let you stay for the night don’t think this gives you the right to stay here she said glaring at Trixie. Trixie looking unfazed said Twilight you live all alone in this boring place and you don’t want me to stay, what is to say I am the best friend you will ever have. Yeah right like that is ever going to happen Twilight said hovering one of the eggs towards her mouth using magic and eating one of them.
Suddenly there is a loud knock on the door, Twilight getting up from the table she said I wonder who it could be she said I don’t have anything I need help with puzzled as to who ever could want anything from her this time of day. Opening the door she sees a gray Pegasus pony with a blonde colored mane and funny eyes looking at her and in her mouth she is holding a scroll just like the ones princess Celestia used to send her, another thing she noticed was the overfilled saddle bags at her sides. Dropping it on the ground she said special delivery for Twilight Sparkle, picking up the scroll with magic she then said wait Derpy where did you get one of these anyway ? Only Celestia uses this kind of paper and even then only a dragon is able to conjure these up. The gray pony looked at her and said I don’t know really all I was told was to deliver it to you as soon as possible and that is all I know. Spreading out her wings the pony then takes flight slowly disappearing into the distance until out of sight.
Twilight picking up the scroll and closing the door then moves back over to the table and takes her seat setting the scroll down on the table in between her and Trixie. I wonder who this could be opening the scroll out on the table. Ooh I bet it is a love letter from a secret admirer Trixie said mockingly to Twilight. Haha very funny Trixie said Twilight, maybe you should have gotten a job as a comedian and not a magician then maybe you would have gotten somewhere in life. Oh shut up Trixie said in retaliation to Twilights witty remark. Hmm let’s see what this letter says Twilight said.
Dear Twilight Sparkle there is a serious matter to attend to that I would like you to meet me about concerning your five other friends. As you already know my sister Celestia has great trust in you and has taught you many great things, so I feel I have reason to trust in you as well. This time there will be lessons that I myself will teach you as the princess of the night. Since my sister is confident in you as her student I am giving you a rare opportunity that few ponies will ever have the chance of experiencing. Please come to the nightmare moon statue in the Everfree Forest at midnight and I will see you there. Oh and your new friend who just moved in with you make sure to bring her along too it has been awhile since I have had a magician in my presence. Yours truly Princess Luna.
Twilight scratching her head with hoof said that is odd whatever in Equestria could Luna ever need me for that Celestia would not, also friend surely she can’t be talking about you because you only had gotten here only hours ago. Duh Trixie said didn’t you read the letter she said she was giving you a super rare opportunity that very few ponies ever get, should that not be a clue to you, also how many magicians do you know dumbass huh, how many. Okay point proven I guess Twilight said.
Yeah okay then, do you want to go with me to visit a few of my friends today Trixie, I am sure you would love to get to know some ponies considering you plan on staying here Twilight said. Hah stay here in this dump are you kidding me. Who in their right mind would want to stay here Trixie said? I am interested in where you think you are going to live considering you don’t look like the kind of pony who can afford a residence in Canterlot. Cloudsdale is out of the question since you are not a Pegasus and most of all even if you did find a place somewhere just where would you get the bits? Last time I checked you were some pony out of bits and out of luck desperate for some place to stay Twilight said. Oh fine I guess Trixie will have to stay in this sleepy one horse town called Ponyville for now but don’t expect me to like this place Trixie said.
Hey Trixie since I want you to come along with me to see my friends, I have something neat to show you Twilight said. Ooh what can it be a spaceship, a deathray, maybe a nice shed to hotbox in that has leather seating and a Jacuzzi Trixie said with excitement in her voice. Twilight with a puzzled look on her face said wait why ever would I have a death ray in my backyard and a hotbox what in Equestria is one of them some kind of fancy name for a portable sauna? Oh I forgot you are one of those sheltered Canterlot types I forgot Trixie said waving her hoof in the air. No seriously what is a hotbox I have never heard of such a thing before Twilight said with a puzzled look on her face. Opening the door to her home she motioned for Trixie to come forward, Trixie lets not stall any further we have things to do today Twilight said.
Heading outside to the backyard Trixie finds a hot air balloon all prepped and ready for travel. Wait how did this get here I don’t recall seeing one of these here before Trixie said stumped as to how such a thing never caught her eyes before. Ever hear of something called magic, I thought you being a unicorn and all you would know these things Twilight said smugly to Trixie. Oh shut up Trixie said jabbing Twilight in the side with one of her hooves. Ooh ouch that hurt so much I might cry Twilight said sarcastically.
Twilight stepping into the air balloon said hey Trixie I bet you never travelled in style like this before did you. Well step on in and stop acting like you never seen one of these before Twilight said. Trixie stepping into the hot air balloon with Twilight said are you sure this thing is safe, no pony wants the great and powerful Trixie to be the great and dead Trixie looking at Twilight with concern. Yeah about that don’t tempt me, as Twilight took the weights off of the balloon. Slowly the flying contraption started to lift off of the ground and gain some air the two of them took off into the sky.
Rainbow Dash sitting on her new throne looked about her new home in Cloudsdale with feeling mixed with boredom, anger and impatience. While it looked quite decorated even arguably enough to even outdo the castle that the two ruling sisters of Equestria resided in this still did not make her feel any more happy about her life or her current situation as Cloudsdale’s newly self-appointed leader.
After her dreams of getting into the Wonderbolts being shattered it left her with a feeling of devastation. She acted like it was all fine in front of her friends and for the longest time they seemed to buy her lie that she gave those dreams up for her friends. But the Wonderbolts were no longer a concern to her as she made good and sure they never could make another show ever again.
Her biggest concern was doing away with all of the unicorns and earth ponies who lived in Equestria as she absolutely hated them with a burning passion that matched that of even the heart of the mightiest dragon. The reason she hated unicorns so much is she felt that they were overly snobby, weak minded and overly pampered breeds that would never be capable of living through a lifestyle of survival of the fittest. To her they were considered and weak because a dependence on magic to do daily tasks to her was considered lazy and pathetic in her mind. The earth ponies she felt were useless altogether seeing as they can’t even use magic or even control the weather, most useless of them all Rainbow thought to herself grudgingly.
However one earth pony in particular made her insides boil inside with rage and fear at the same time and that ponies name was Pinkie Pie. She had lost some of her best fighters to her and to make matters worse for months and months on end she would get threating messages from this menacing pink ball of energy. One time she got such a note in a package sent from Derpy containing a severed head of one such soldier, ever since then she knew Pinkie was serious and not just bluffing like she previously thought. She would not dare let her guards or any of her soldiers know of her deep seated fear of this pony as she did not want to show weakness as a leader. If she did that she feared that she would lose influence and even more dreadfully so the princesses help her be overthrown.
Banging her hoof down angrily on her throne she screamed GUARDS COME HERE THIS INSTANT!!! Suddenly two very large black stallions zip into the room skidding to a halt just feet in front of Rainbow Dash. One of the stallions which had an all-black mane and light red eyes spoke up, Yes ma’am what are your orders. I want everypony to gather and meet at the roundtable as soon as possible there is a serious matter I would like to discuss Rainbow Dash said, opening up her wings she starts to hover herself above the throne. You two come with me waving the two of them to follow her as she flew to leave her chamber, the two stallions following suit.
Upon reaching the seemingly endless sized hallway for her castle she stops suddenly. You two go and gather my generals I will meet you two in the dining hall. Zipping down the hall at a blinding she disappears out of sight of the two stallions. Soon as she got out of earshot and eyesight one of the stallions looked at the other one and spoke. You know I have a bad feeling about this meeting looking at the other one with concern, I worry she is going to make us do something that is way out line. The other stallion grunting in disagreement said you always worry too much and besides you are being paid In bits to follow orders not ask questions. The first stallion who spoke up said I may be getting paid but I still have morals unlike some ponies, I am your brother and I would just hate to see you end up getting yourself killed for doing something foolish. The second stallion said I know we both may not like what we are going to hear but this is Rainbow we are talking about here if we upset her who in the name of Celestia knows what horrible things she will do to us.
At the large table in the dining hall Rainbow Dash took her seat with all the other ponies that had gathered around her. After a few minutes of silence Rainbow Dash spoke up interrupting the silence that was gathered at the table.
My fellow pegasi, brothers and sisters I have gathered you here for something very important, today is the day we finally work together on my master plan that I have been waiting for a long time to put into action. This plan will involve a sacrifice, one that involves the loss of many lives. This sacrifice means making the meanest storm in Cloudsdale history; it will have so much power that it will wipe Ponyville clean off the face of Equestria as we know it. I however cannot have the power to perform such a feat alone even though I am insanely awesome, which bring me to the point of why I have gathered you all here.
A few moments of silence later after realizing the maniacal pony’s request the crowd around the table gasped in unison. A light blue and gray pony with a pink bowtie spoke up and said create a storm that will destroy Ponyville have you gone insane?!!? Another light blue and gray pony with a light blue mane said the two sisters will have your head assuming they don’t banish you somewhere worse than the moon. Rainbow Dash shot out of her chair and got up in the two sisters faces before screaming YOU THINK THAT WHATEVER CELESTIA COULD DO TO YOU, COULD EVER POSSIBLY BE AS BAD AS WHAT I COULD DO TO YOU IF YOU DISOBEY ME!!! DO YOU FLITTER!!! But she is princess Celestia and has been around for thousands of years who knows what unholy things she could do to you as punishment and all of us if we ever upset her shrinking back in her chair in fear.
Rainbow Dash flying back to her seat yelled out to the every pony at the table see to it that this plan is executed I do not want to hear any excuses. This meeting is over you may all return to your duties. All the ponies that had gathered around the table got up out of their seats one by one and prepared to leave the large dining hall.
After all the other ponies had left the huge dining hall including Rainbow Dash, Flitter looking at Cloudchaser with concern said are we really going to do this, I mean this is suicide the princess will have us all killed. Look Flitter I don’t want to either but what can we do really, this is Rainbow Dash here we are talking about do you really want to anger her by disobeying her Cloudchaser said. Rumor has it Luna has this secret group called “the sisterhood” which has the most talented as well as deadliest ponies in Equestria, all hoof picked by Luna herself and anypony who upsets her they disappear without a trace overnight when she sends these so called sisterhood members after somepony Flitter said nervously. Don’t be silly Flitter that is just urban myth are you really scared of some old make believe tale Cloudchaser said.I certainly hope you are right or there will be a lot of blood on our hooves in the future Flitter said.
Very high up in the sky Ponyville just being a small sized speck, Twlight and Trixie were flying together in the hot air balloon heading to Sweet Apple Acres. So who is this Applejack you speak so fondly of, she sounds like some kind of hick to me Trixie said. Would it kill you to say someone nice to somepony at least once in a while? Twilight said. I am just saying at least from what you told me you know southern accent, works on a farm and probably makes wicked good moonshine oh and not to mention she probably does this with her big brother, whats his name, Making a bulge in one of her cheeks she made a back and forth towards her mouth with one of her hooves making sure to bulge her eyes out of her head while making gagging noises for added effect. For fucks sake Trixie is there any need of that seriously ?!!? , Twilight glaring at Trixie while gritting her teeth in aggravation. Well look at that there is Sweet Apple Acres now Twilight said, reducing the flame in the balloon the craft slowly starting to lose altitude making the farm appear closer and closer. Finally after a few minutes the hot air balloon touched ground, upon landing she sees a familiar sight, the old farmhouse and the large barn had been used to seeing for years on end.
Trixie and Twilight climbing out of the balloon start walking towards the farmhouse. Trixie do you promise to behave yourself this time, Applejack does not really take kindly to being smart talk or ponies that go out of their way to make a fool out of themselves Twilight said. Yeah yeah whatever I promise Trixie said waving her hoof in the air.
Upon reaching the farmhouse door Twilight loudly knocked on the door several times, After a short pause, a beaming pony with reddish mane and a light yellow coat opened the door. Hey there Applebloom do you know where I can find your sis Applejack? Twilight asked Applebloom. Why she’s in the barn tending to some secret project of hers of something Applebloom shrugged. Thanks I will go see her in the barn then Twilight said. No problem and by the way tell Applejack I have her favorite apple pie ready for her Applebloom then closed the door shut.
Trotting toward the barn away from the house alongside the purple unicorn Trixie said “secret project” huh I wonder what that means she smiled mischievously. Twilight shooting Trixie a dirty look said don’t get any funny ideas whatever it is she most likely doesn’t want you messing with it. Reaching the barn door Twilight knocked on it at least several times, hey it’s me Twilight are you in there Applejack? After a short pause she heard a familiar voice say c’mon in partner.
Upon walking into the door she notices countless dozens of plants all of them having lamps shining a very bright light over them. Hey there Applejack said beaming at Twilight I have something to show ya. Oh who is this, a new friend of yours looking over at Trixie, well nice to meet ya partner how do ya like the ol farm grabbing Trixie’s hoof and shaking it quite firmly. Yeah nice to meet you too, Trixie said hesitantly and I don’t know this is the first time I been around these parts. Say you look kinda familiar, ah do remember seein ya somewhere before but ya don’t ring a bell.
This is Applejack, Applejack this is Trixie said Twilight trying her best to sound friendly about introducing her seemingly arrogant follower to one of her friends. Applejack suddenly glared at Trixie, Ah knew you were familiar, I am watchin ya very closely ya hear, I aint gonna be havin none fer trouble from ya got it. Whatever Trixie said rolling her eyes, what is this so called secret you are blabbering on about anyway farmergirl. Ya know Sugarcube I would like it just fine if you just called me by name Applejack said.
So Applejack did you hear anything from Rainbow Dash it has been awhile since I have heard anything from her Twilight said. Applejack gritting her teeth her eyes filled with a pained expression turned from the two of them. Why If I could kill her with my bare hooves I would do so, but she spends all her time up in Cloudsdale doin who knows what up there
Applejack trotting over to one of plants that was under a light said Zecora gave me some of these strange seeds a couple of months ago and I tells ya Twilight did she ever give me the oddest set of instructions. I aint never had to grow stuff like this before not to mention the smell will knock you right off you hooves, have a smell Twilight maybe you read a few books somewhere about these. Twilight approaching the strange plants noticed something about these plants they had a greenish tint with orange veins and looking at it from different angles she noticed tiny shiny crystals sparkling from it. Taking a sniff of it she felt herself get dizzy slightly as this very strong mix of a sour yet slightly fruity odor hit her senses.
Applejack noticing Twilights reaction chuckled and said apparently from what Zecora told me she uses this stuff in a lot of her potions apparently it is pretty potent stuff. She told me it was her “finest” stuff; however I find it odd why she wanted me to have it. Trixie taking a few steps over to the one of the plants took a good long sniff of one of the plants. With a huge grin she looked over at Applejack and Twilight then said holy shit these are good, how much can I get for 200 bits worth? Hold on Trixie you know what these plants are since when did you study botany anyway? Twilight asked puzzled. Well duh of course I know what these are, I seen these grown all the time in my hometown but I have never seen anything of this quality grown Trixie said.
Hold on there a minute partner where do you think you are getting all the bits for such a large purchase like that anyway? Applejack said. Does it even matter anyway, so long as you get the bits and some of these are taken off your hooves why do you care Trixie said. Yeah and I will believe it when I see it, til then Sugarcube all I see is talk Applejack said.
Hey Applejack I think it is about time I get going, it’s been nice visiting you Twilight said. Nice to see ya drop on by and visit, feel free to drop by again anytime I might have a nice apple pie with your name on it. Oh and by the way I would keep a close eye on that Trixie gal if I were you she seems like trouble Applejack said. Yeah I know about that more than you think Twilight said groaning out loud.
Closing the door behind her after Trixie left the barn behind her Twilight stopped and looked at Trixie. I find it odd how somepony like you has knowledge of something I don’t have much knowledge of, care to explain that to me and what really leaves me dumbfounded is why you take so much interest in such a plant that you put so much bits into it Twilight said. I think I will explain that later when we are out of earshot of farmergirl Trixie said.
Upon reaching the hot air balloon Twilight used her magic to fire up the flame on the hot air balloon then Trixie and Twilight climbed in and set off for Fluttershys cottage.
