Operation Little Bird.
"Xiophous, funny name for a planet doc?" Glenn questioned. Veronica cleared her throat.
"Well it seemed appropriate at the time due to the recon drones and UAVs took pictures of the species on this planet, most of which seem to be from greek mythology." She scooted sideways to press another button. Glenn chuckeled "How many buttons you gunna press doc?" She looked at him over her shoulder with a are you kidding me face. She pressed the button and entered some codes in, then another door opened revealing a huge glass tube filled with a light blue liquid. Inside was a horse adorned with a horn and wings. Its coat was dark black, and it had a mask attached to its muzzle. "Wow doc didnt know you had a pet pegi corn thing!" Glenn said sarcasticly. Veronica looked up from her tablet she was typing on. "Sorry sergeant, I didnt realize you were my pet." Glenn craned his neck backwards "Sorry I dont follow." Veronica sighed as she placed the tablet back on the steel table. "This is part of my expieriment, this is your new body that you will be using, I also have one of my own. Three months ago a drone took a x-ray photograph of one of these creatures. I believe them to be inteligent. Nanomites did an excellent job recreating the organs and muscle fibers in these creatures." Glenn crossed his arms. "So how come Im stuck with a pegicorn?" She sighed once more clearly out of aggervation Glenn was giving her. "I believe it to be best for my test, since there isnt many of this breed, I wanted it to atract as much attention as possible so we may learn how this species operates, And for the record its called an alicorn." Glenn let out a hmph. "So when do we get started?" Glenn asked with little enthusiasm. "I get to start now, you on the other hand start about a week from now. You have a deal with the devil good sir." She then turned back to the tablet and started typing again. "So how does this exactly work doc, that if it is you dont mind me asking?" Veronica didnt turn her attention to Glenn. "You go inside a tube that puts you to sleep, you then wake up inside your new body. I think thats it sergeant you are wanted in the hangar bay." Glenn lept up and out of his chair and out the sliding doors.
On his way out two gaurds stood there in a all mighty stature. "Hanger now!" one of them barked. Glenn walked in the direction of the hanger bay. The three of them walked in silence only for the sound of boots clomping on the deck. "Hold it" one of the gaurds said. A door slid open revealing a armory. One gaurd steped in then followed by Glenn then the other gaurd. The first gaurd pulled out a tablet and said "Take note of what fire arms you want with you. You will recieve them once your planet side by air drop, and feel free to pick out what you will be wearing and any other clothing." with that the second gaurd tossed Glenn a duffle bag.Glenn wasted no time in picking clothes. "A set of woodland digies and a ghillie suit." He placed the ghille suit inside the duffle bag. He put on the BDU's in exchange from his orange jump suit. He tied his boots accordingly and grabbed a cover [hat]. He then picked up the tablet. Looking through the armory he then selected the guns he wanted on the tablet. He selected the Mk14 with silencer, G-18, and a .50 cal sniper rifle, and a ka-bar. The gaurd took the tablet back and looked through it. "Going old school eh' sergeant?" Glenn nodded his head as he was strapping holsters to his leg. The three exited the room and made there way to the bustling hanger bay. Once there Glenn noticed two V-23's one pure black and the other with tiger stripes moving on sliding platforms. The platforms stopped in front of the hanger doors. The black one dropped its ramp and was imedietly loaded with the familiar tubes he saw moments ago and with a all familiar woman boarding it as well. Both ospreys fired their engines. A loud voice came over the intercom "All flight personel clear deck for launch." People started to leave and head through th blast doors on the other side of the hanger. "Come on get on board sergeant." Glenn boarded the tiger stripped O.D.S. He secured himself in and the two gaurds double timed back to the blast doors. The ramp closed slowly as the light from the hanger was traded with a red light. The radio buzzed in side the ship. "Hanger decompression in three... two... one..." A hissing sound could be heard around the ship's compartment. The osprey lunged forward and out of the hanger. Both ospreys banked left towards the planet below. Within three minutes Glenn could already hear the friction between the osprey and the planets atmosphere. The drop ship creaked and shook slightly side to side and would knock any one off balance if someone were to stand up.
-Captain Spitfire's p.o.v.-
It was an early morning, but the sun still shown its rays across the world. "Maybe taking a vacation isnt so bad." She thought to herself. "Catch up with some old friends, have some fun for once. That would be......" Her thoughts were interupted by something glistening in her eye. "Friends will have to wait, I have to go get the rest of the team." She then took off as fast as she could towards base.

The osprey stopped shaking as it came to a perfect altitude. The radio came on again "This is valkrie two-four. Breaking off. Copy last." Glenn saw the black osprey bank right and descend. "Copy your last two-four." came from Glenn's pilot. Two minutes passed when the radio came on again. "Attention valkrie two-three you have three bogies in bound." The pilot flipped a couple switches before replying. "Copy that command moving to engage bogies." The pilot looked back at Glenn. "Hey sarge mount that fifty and I hope you dont mind some tunes." He redirected his attention to flying the osprey. Over the ships intercom came the song that no one has listened to in a while, ac/dc shoot to thrill. Glenn smiled as he locked and loaded the machine gun. "Sarge bogies coming in, stay sharp." Glenn could see the three targets in range now, and he could see that they were holding spears. Glenn yelled "Bogies are hostile, repeat bogies are hostile." the pilot ajusted in his seat and banked slightly right going up in an attempt to flank the enemys. Glenn now had the perfect oppertunity to shoot and wasted no time. He shot the .50 cal with six round bursts. Second time he fired he hit his mark, making his target explode with red poofing in the air. The other two hostiles split up trying to surround the osprey. The flight deck operator lowered the back door and mounted his .50 cal. One of the bogies came from behind the ship but was shot down within a second. Then the other bogie made a split for it and heading out. The pilot talked over the radio. "Command permission to pursue bogie?" It took a second for a reply to come back. "Granted two-three, but do not leave green zone." The pilot was hast to respond. "Copy that command, valkrie two-three out." The ship banked far right to intercept the bogie. " I'm giving it all she's got!" the pilot yelled. A rapid buzzer went off and a red lght was flashing. " Pull off and ease up!" Glenn yelled at the pilot. The buzzing stopped and so did the red light. The osprey banked left heading back on its coarse to base. Glenn dismounted the gun and sat back in his seat. They flew in silence for thirty minutes. Glenn could feel the osprey descend as it banked right. He stood up and faced the door. It opened at twenty feet above the ground. The sounds of the jets screaming were replaced by hip hop music, marching and vehicles moving about. Glenn walked off the ramp when it was a foot off the ground. He was greeted by a marine in desert digi's. Glenn stook out his hand. The man shook it. "Greetings sergeant major." Glenn said. The sergeant major smiled "greetings sergeant, if you would please follow me."
They walked through camp towards the command center. To Glenn's left were two marines playing one on one basket ball. To his right were marines lifting weights and cleaning guns. It didnt take long for the two to get there. The sergeant major stopped and directed Glenn inside. " Colonel Morris is waiting for you sergeant." Glenn looked at him "thank you sergeant major." Glenn opened the door to a quiet command center. Glenn dropped his bag at his left and stood at position of attention "SERGEANT GLENN REPORTING AS ORDERED SIR'." Morris turned around taking a puff of his cigar "Ahhh keep it down sergeant, Its already loud enough out there and I dont need it in here. At ease." Glenn shiffted to the at ease position. "Yes sir, sorry sir." Glenn said. The colonol sat down in a chair and motioned for Glenn to do the same. Glenn walked to the chair and sat down. Morris was first to speak. "Glad you came sergeant, not many men are in recon so I cant do much on this planet as I want to without conducting an invasion. hehe." Glenn coughed. "So where does that put me sir'." Glenn asked. "It means I want you to recon a near by village. Shit ton of horse's though, but they shouldent be a problem. So I want you to recon the area and place these micro phones around the settlement." He then pulled out a black bag containing the microphones. "Thank you sir I'll be ready in twenty minutes." Glenn stood up saluted and turned away to retreive his bag. "Oh another thing sergeant." Glenn turned around once more. "yes sir?" Morris took another puff from his cigar. "your weapons are in your tent." Glenn nodded and walked out of the command center and to his tent.
Once there Glenn quickly slipped on his ghillie siut and holstered his G-18 and shouldered his Mk-14. He walked out of his tent and looked up. the sun was twelve high. "lets get moving." he said as he started moving to his objective. It took him a hour to get to the out skirts of the village. He hid in the shadows of the trees. He saw a multitude of colored horses. What caught his attention was a purple unicorn and pink one that was twitching. He could hear voices coming from the horses. He wrote down on a note book that the horse creatures were sentiant. He sprinted across the clearing and into an alleyway. Glenn crouched aside a wall and pulled out the black bag. He picked a microphone and placed it on the wall next to him. He then heard a loud gasp. Glenn turned around and picked up his Mk-14 and pointed at the thing that made the sound. What he saw surprized him. It was a mint green unicorn with a smile touching each end of its face. The horse stood up and clapped its whooves together before standing back on all four. "Ohmygoshohmygoshohmygosh, I knew you were real and no pony believed me. I must go tell every pony about this." Glenn's eyes widend as he fired his gun on the unicorn. pffft..pffft.
