Unexpected Joy

Braxton awoke rubbing the back of his head. Feeling sore and regretting last nights decision, or maybe last night in general. “Ugh, I hate beer.” His vision was blurry but he could still make out a distinct pink form.

”Pinkie? Ughh, is that you? Oh, not this cupcakes again. I’m getting really tired of this.” Braxton said.

“How can anyone get tired of cupcakes?!” Pinkie said jolting to his face.

”Cause being chopped and opened from the neck down is REALLY uncomfortable.”

Twilight and Pinkie looked at each other puzzled, wondering where this stallion came from and what horrid things he had seen.

Braxton wiped at his face, trying to wake up, but to no avail he was still staring at the two mares who were looking at him in concern.

“Um, usually when I’m dreaming I’m human, and I wake up when I realize I’m dreaming.

“Human, huuman, hooman, hoopdeloop?” Said pinkie trying the word on for size.

“Lots of questions are coming up Mister, um, what's your name again?” Inquired Twilight.

“Uh, you usually know that. C’mon I don’t wanna do this again! Wake up!” Braxton said getting aggravated.

Braxton yelped in pain as he felt a painful pinch in his arm.

“Nope.” Pinkie giggled.

“Nope what?!” Braxton said frustrated.

“Not a dream.” Pinkie said her laugh still growing.

“You're supposed to pinch people to see if it’s a dream and nopers not a dream!”

Braxton stared at the pink mare, angry, and hung over. He began to stand up when he felt himself flop to the floor. He laid on the floor angry and confused. He broke into laughter, happy to talk to pinkie and not end up in a oven for once.

Pinkie squealed and joined him on the floor, rolling around and laughing.

“....wait did I miss something?” Twilight said confused about the whole situation.

Later that evening...

Braxton had sobered up, he was now almost certain this was real. Apart from his giddiness  he was finally ready to think about his situation. But something was missing, or four things. Twilight and Pinkie were sitting on a couch across from Braxton, while he was pacing back and forth.

“So please explain humans.” Said Twilight with no problem in pronunciation.

Braxton, still hesitant to believe his dream came true, wanted to meet everypony.

“I can’t.”

“Why not?” Twilight asked.

“I need all of you here.”

“You need everypony in town?”

“Just the elements.”

“But, what, why?”

“To get it out of the way.” Braxton said trying to end the conversation.

“I suppose you're right.” Twilight said in defeat.

Braxton let out a slight gasp of excitement before turning away to shield the excitement from the mares.

“You okay?” Pinkie asked.

“Mhm.” Is all braxton could moan without exploding of shear joy.

“Okie dokie loki!” Pinkie said hopping away.

With every passing moment it got harder and harder for Braxton to control his excitement.

After Twilight had gathered everypony they all sat down to discuss what happened.

“So, are you ready now? Asked Twilight.

Braxton just stood in awe, staring at the ponys. The pain was intense, not being able to just run and hug the ponies was unbearable. But he knew if he were to do that they might figure out he knew all of them, besides Pinkie, and that might not end well. He planted his newly acquired hooves to the ground. This was much harder than he expected.

“Would you mind telling us your name?” Asked Twilight.

“”Um, how about you first?” Braxton replied.

Worried his name wasn't complex enough for equestria.Everyone here had complex names, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Braxton. Doesn't sound right, maybe he could hold out until he could think of a more suiting name.

“So, whats this guys name?” Asked Rainbow.

Or maybe not.

“Uh, just call me Braxton” Braxton admitted.

“What kinda name is that?” Blurted Rainbow.

“Braxton, eh?” Asked AppleJack.

“How exotic!” Exclaimed Rarity.

“Thats what it was!” Pinkie said jumping around.

“I think it’s cute” Whispered Fluttershy.

Everyone stared at Fluttershy wide-eyed for a moment. Even Angel froze for a moment.

“Um, so, what's this human?” Fluttershy said blushing furiously.

“Uh, what was that before sugarcube?” AppleJack asked.

“Oh, nothing I’m sorry.” Fluttershy said almost squeaking.

Twilight was slightly hesitant to steer away from what just happened but went along.

“Yes. What is a human?” She asked

What was a human? Would it be better to not tell them? What should I say? Braxton thought.

“A human is just what they call people who live in my town.” Braxton started explaining.

“Where do you live?” Pinkie asked.

“Uhh, Humanataria.” Braxton said stuttering.

“How do we know you're not lying, how do we know you’re not a spy?” Rainbow barged in.

Braxton had to hold in a laugh.

“You think everypony’s a spy.” Said Twilight with the straightest face ever.

“What are you laughing at?” Rainbow said trying to threaten Braxton.

“Nothing.” Braxton said still smirking.

“I’m already not liking this guy Twi!” Said a mildly annoyed Rainbow Dash.

Braxton didn't want to make enemies with anypony especially not one of the mane six.

“Look I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to upset you. Friends?” Braxton apologized.

“Ugh.” Rainbow moaned before spitting on her hoof and putting it out.

“Really?” Braxton asked.

“Do you wanna be friends or not?” Rainbow pushed.

“Fine.” Braxton spit on his hoof and shook Rainbow’s.

“Hpmh.”

“What is it now?” Braxton said expecting more hate.

“It’s just well.. You didn't really hesitate to do that. Most ponies do.” Rainbow said.

“Well I’m not like most ponies” Braxton replied trying to be smooth.

But really he wasn't like most ponies. Really he wasn’t a pony at all. It was more of a truth than expected. At heart he felt like this was it. But he knew it wasn't

“Uh you okay there?” Rainbow asked waving her hand in front of Braxton’s face.

The sudden blue flash awoke him from his deep thought.

“Yeah. Sorry.” Braxton said drifting out of thought, and back into what could be a dream come true. That is, if he doesn't mess this up.
