Unexpected Joy

So how about you tell me about yourselves now? Braxton asked.

“It’s getting kinda late and ah I gotta work the farm tomorrow.” Applejack said.

“I’m getting kinda tired, I got cloud duty tomorrow.” Said Rainbow Dash.

“I have to get planning on the introductions party!” Pinkie said, flying out the library door.

“I must get my beauty sleep. Rarity said fluffing her hair.

“I need to get back to my animals.” Fluttershy whispered.

“So... Is there an inn or?” Braxton wondered worried the stars were going to be his only blanket.

“Well Pinkie said your a friend, so you can stay here. On one condition...” Twilight got up close to Braxton.

“That is?” Braxton said starting to walk back.

“If you turn out to be someone bad, or hurt any of those girls...” Twilight said stomping her hoof.

“Get it?”

“Yes ma’am...” Braxton said shocked that came from Twi.

Braxton laid on his pallet on the floor next to spike.

“So...” Spike said quietly.

“So...” Braxton replied, hoping to not wake up Twilight.

“Since your new, and these ponies aren't your friends yet...”

“Uh-huh.” Braxton said wondering where this was leading.

“Do you have an interest in any of them?” Spike finished.

“Uh... Um. What do you mean?” Braxton said feeling weird talking about this.

“Is there one that, y'know? Sparks your interest.” Spike said trying to keep what he meant a secret in the words.

Does he mean? In a- in a romantic way? Braxton thought to himself.

Braxton was thinking about this question. He had thought about which pony he would date, but he was never too serious about it. He thought about it, he wanted to say Rarity just to see Spike’s reaction. But he thought pissing off a dragon probably was not a good idea. Even if it was a baby one.

Fluttershy. He always thought she was cute, the way she seems to be afraid of anything and everything, but he thought she would probably be hard to get into a relationship with.

Rainbow Dash. She was cool for sure, and she seemed somewhat interested earlier. Maybe even harder to get into a relationship with Flutters though. And her competitive attitude might pose a threat.

Rarity was okay. Braxton never really thought about her that much. She just didn’t stand out to him as much as the others did.

Applejack. A nice pony through and through. May not be too hard to date. But Braxton wasn’t too sure if he could keep up with her extremely physical schedule.

Pinkie Pie. She was really, really fun. He had even been talking to her for a while but didn't even know it. Hec she was the reason he was here in the first place. She would be the easiest to start dating since they have talked a lot, but would she take it seriously?

Twilight. She was interesting. A pony who can solve problems easily, she just seemed so adorkable. She was nice but she just cared for her friends a lot. Which wasn't a bad thing. It may make it harder to date her or anypony else...

“All of em I guess..” Braxton replied after thinking.

“Uh... I don’t know if they'd agree to that.” Spike said.

“NO.” Braxton so loud it scared Spikie.

They both gazed at Twi who was still sound asleep.

“Not like that, I’m just not sure I guess. They all interest me.”

“Well, I'll be your wingman. Spike said.

They both laughed for a moment.

Unless you go for Rarity then there's problems. Spike said staring down Braxton

“For sure.” Braxton held his han- wait, hoof out for Spike to shake.

Spike smiled and shook Braxtons hoof.

“Goodnight Braxton.” Spike said, turning his side to braxton.

“Goodnight Spike.” Braxton replied closing his eyes.

Braxton awoke to Pinkie blowing a party blower in his face.

“Surprise!!” Pinkie said before hitting Braxton in the eye with the blower again.

Braxton leaned up, almost everypony he had ever seen was here. Even the completely random background ponies.

Braxton was both excited and furious, he hated being awoken when it wasn't his own mental alarm. He was slightly nervous by all the ponies staring at the new arrival in town. Braxton never liked attention, whenever someone ever gloated about Braxtons achievements he felt awkward. He felt when someone looked at him he couldn't look at them.

Braxton had his arms behind him holding himself up, a cyan blur flashed by his peripheral vision. Next thing he knew his hooves were knocked out from under him and his head hitting the ground with a thud.

“HAHA, you shoulda seen the look on your face!” Rainbow laughed as she was mimicking the frightened look Braxtons face held while falling.

“Oh, haha good one.” Braxton said sarcastically.

“Really was wasn't it?” Rainbow said hold her mouth closed to keep the laughter back.

“ugh...can you atleast help me up?” Braxton asked rubbing the newly sore spot on his head.

“OH..did it really hurt..i’m so sorry!” Rainbow said rushing to help.

“Lend me a hoof?” Braxton asked blinking as if he couldn't see.

Rainbow held out her hoof, Braxton grabbed hold and pulled her down.

“HA! Got ya!” Braxton said pleased with himself for tricking the pony pranking master, at least until he found himself in a rather awkward position.

He looked up and was face to face with Rainbow. Her cheeks turned a light shade of crimson.

“Uh, um sorry i....” Braxton drifted off. “I.....love your eyes..” Braxton stared into the mares big magenta eyes.

“Wuh, did you?” Rainbow said looking confused. The light shade of crimson darkened, becoming more visible.

Rainbow tried to use her mane to cover her face. She looked back at Braxton before looking at the ground.

Rainbow flew up inches above the ground and dropped to her hooves looking flustered.

Braxton got off the ground for the first time his legs shaky and half way still asleep.

"What, was it something i said?” Braxton asked.

Rainbow let out a loud “Hmph.” And flew out of the library.

“WAIT DASHIE! We haven’t even had cake yet,” Pinkie shouted.

Braxton turned around to see the entire party staring at him in total silence.

Braxton felt he did nothing wrong, but it seemed all the others KNEW he did. Braxton quickly turned his eyes to Twilight.

“Uh, I....what?!” Braxton stuttered in a high pitched tone.

Braxton moved his eyes to spike.

Spike stood jaw hanging slowly walking towards Braxton now.

“Dude...” Spike said his face looking like he saw the most wild thing ever.

“How are you not dead....”
