Predator: Equestria

“I can’t believe I got dragged into this, Twilight darling next time we’re having a vote on which missions we accept” Rarity complained as she tromped through the jungle brush, making excessive amounts of noise.

Trixie leaned over to Twilight “She always this picky?” Trixie asked and Twilight face-hoofed. “Yeah she usually likes urban environments” Twilight joked and Trixie rolled her eyes, “Just like old times” Trixie joked.

Twilight stopped and motioned for every-pony to halt and pointed to a carriage that was crashed in the trees. “That’s our carriage” Trixie muttered and Twilight motioned for Rarity and Pinkie to go check it out. “Oh no, I am not climbing all the way up there to inspect that gruesome looking thing” Rarity complained. Twilight sighed “Dash?” Twilight asked and Rainbow Dash shook her head. “Sorry Twi, too much weight, I can’t fly well enough to get inside that thing” Rainbow Dash informed her.

Fluttershy saw a cute little squirrel dash off towards a thicket, “Oh my… wait little friend” he said as she easily got sidetracked and began to follow the squirrel.

Pinkie Pie tossed a hook up towards the carriage and began to ascend upwards, Applejack followed close behind, having been the most suited for the climb.

Pinkie tried to open the carriage doors but they seem to be sealed shut. She grunted as she tried to pull them off but couldn’t. “Pinkie, what’s the hold up?” Applejack asked and Pinkie Pie gave her an acknowledging wave and pulled out a small slice of cake from her combat saddle and swallowed the cake in one gulp. Almost as if it was a strength booster she ripped the carriage door off and tossed it to the ground below.

She hopped inside and saw that the entire inside of the carriage was filled with blood. Applejack joined her inside and sat on her flank and looked to the inside of the carriage with silent respect for the ponies that obviously were killed in what looked to be a shot down carriage.

Applejack and Pinkie Pie descended back down and reported directly to Twilight. “Crashed carriage, no bodies but lots of blood” Applejack said in a saddened tone. “Hey where’s Fluttershy?” Pinkie asked and Twilight turned to Rainbow Dash. “Out chasing the wildlife again” Rainbow Dash said with a sigh and pointed to Fluttershy as she climbed a tree, following the squirrel.

“That mare seriously needs to get out more” Trixie said with a scoff and Twilight rolled her eyes.

“Don’t worry little guy I won’t hurt you…” Fluttershy trailed off as the squirrel dashed off into a thicker, more densely covered part of the tree. Fluttershy moved the branches away as she followed her new found animal friend. As she moved closer and removed the final branches between her and her critter friend she was greeted with an awful sight.

Green cocoons encased what looked like ponies, who were obviously not alive any-more. Fluttershy screamed and lept back but tripped and fell out of the tree. “Fluttershy” Rarity screamed and her friend fell but luckily she came back to reality and began to fly. Fluttershy was breathing deeply and the entire team looked to the cocooned bodies.

“Cut them down” Twilight ordered and Pinkie erratically lept up the tree and cut the cocoons down and Rarity levitated them to the ground. “Cut them open, let’s see what’s inside” Twilight ordered and they began to cut the cocoons open. “Good god… what the hell” Trixie gasped, the pony in the cocoon she was cutting open was half transformed into some deformed black creature that looked almost like an insect.

“Twi… ah think yah better see this” Applejack said and tossed a pair of dog tags to Twilight who caught them in a levitating spell and brought them over. The dog tags read ‘Capt. Armour Shining’. Twilight gasped and ran over to the cocoon Applejack had cut open.

“No it can’t be… Shining wake up… please Shining wake up” Twilight cried as she sobbed onto her brother’s dead body and tried to bring him back to life. Trixie set her hoof on Twilight’s shoulder “Twilight… I’m afraid he’s dead” Trixie told her, almost with a heartless tone.

Twilight stood up and poked Trixie right in the chest “You never said anything about my brother being involved” Twilight snarled and Trixie stepped back. “Twilight, there was nothing in the mission briefing about your brother or any of the other guards here and an operation wasn’t scheduled in this area… they shouldn’t have been here” Trixie told her and Twilight turned away, “Well some-pony sent them” she hissed and walked over to Fluttershy who was observing the ground.

“What happened Fluttershy?” Twilight asked and Fluttershy looked at the boot marks on the ground. “It’s strange… it was like they walked in here and were ambushed but never left this spot right here… it just doesn’t make sense” Fluttershy said in a suspicious tone.

“Ain’t no way fer no-pony tah die” Applejack commented, Rainbow Dash spit out a big glob of chewing tobacco and unsheathed a deadly M134 Gatling gun. “Now really Dashie must you always carry that thing everywhere we go?” Rarity scoffed. “Why not it makes me 20% cooler, every-pony loves the Gatling” Rainbow Dash laughed and Rarity rolled her eyes.

Rainbow Dash took notice of Rarity’s irritation for her bringing the ‘big gun’. “What? Would you have rather me brought clean clothes?” Rainbow Dash joked as she cocked the Gatling gun. Taking one last glance at the bodies Rainbow Dash turned to Twilight. “What do you suppose we do with the bodies?” Rainbow Dash asked.

Trixie turned and made the call before Twilight could, “We pick them up on the way back… no use carrying them along” Trixie ordered and the group moved out. In the distance a figure sat in the trees and waited for the group to leave then swept down and wept over the dead bodies.
