The final wish

Accepting Help

Dream Caster sat in her room and looked out the window.  "so much out there in the world...  none if it is for me though"  she stated sighing as she lays her head down on her pillow and closed her eyes.  "I already lost the only thing i wanted".  Somber and Fluttershy were out of the house at the market buying some berries and vegetables.  Dream looked around and trotted down stairs and sat on the couch.  "you shouldn't have been so hopeful..."  she teared up as she thought of the way it could have been on hearths warming day but instead she spent it alone.  "that stupid mare stealing my stallion!"  she screamed and hugged a pillow and sobbed.  "Come now flutters lets go home and check on our little darling"  Fluttershy nodded and followed Somber as they trotted home.   When somber opened the door he saw Dream on the couch sobbing.  "DREAM!"  he rushed to her side and put a hoof on her back trying to comfort her.  "Dream what is wrong?"   Dream shrugged off her fathers hoof and continued to cry.  Fluttershy trotted over to her side and put a hoof on Sombers shoulder and gave him a look of please leave the room.  Somber nodded and trotted into the other room.  "Dream darling"  Fluttershy said in a quiet calming soothing voice as she put a soft delicate wing on dream.  "Dream dear what is wrong?" Dream lurched and hugged her mother tightly not a single word was said but Fluttershy could tell that something had changed in her daughters attitude.  "there there Dream, your alright" Dream cried into her mothers wings as they wrapped around her and there softness bringing her comfort.  "M... Mother... i-im sorry for how i have been acting lately its just..."  she fell silent as she thought and decided weather or not she wanted to tell them.  "Dream its ok you can tell me"  Fluttershy nuzzles her daughter on the cheek softly and she kissed her.  "mother its this stallion at school"  she looked down embarrassed.  Fluttershy smiled brightly "Dream you have no idea how long i have been waiting to have this conversation with you"  Fluttershy sat down with Dream in her lap and one wing wrapped around her back.  "wait... you have?"  Dream asked confused as to why her mom would want to talk to her of such things.  "Yes i have dear.  its always a mothers happiest moment when she can talk to her little angle about stallions"  Fluttershys wings fluttered slightly at the word stallions and she thought of Somber.  "mom?  your wings just fluttered?"  she asked her mother curious as to why her mother looked so pleased by this word.  "oh sorry its just i was thinking of somber..."  Dream looked at her mom curiously.  "daddy?"   "yes daddy"  Fluttershy smiled.  "now tell me Dream what is it about this stallion that makes you so sad"  Dream sighed and cried and laughed and just about everything else as she told her mother what happened that day in the snow.  "Oh dear... "  she nuzzled Dream softly and hugged her close.  "i remember when i was like you"  dream hugged her mother back and cried into her mane and smiled knowing that she has such loving parents but still wished she had a stallion to call her own.  "i remember when i first met Somber..."  Fluttershy remembered back to when she saw the strange zebra unconscious at the edge of the Everfree that one day and how her life had never been the same since she took care and saved his life.  "when i first met Somber i felt a strange feeling of being conferrable around him... l-like i could trust him.  call him a friend"  the yellow pegasi smiled and closed her eyes and her wings fluttered once more.  "Somber... he has helped me so much..."  dream put a hoof on her mothers chest and looked into Fluttershys eyes.  "what do you mean mother?"  Fluttershy nuzzled Dreams nose and smiled softly.  "he helped make me less shy and more out going"  there is a loud crash in the kitchen as Somber drops a few pans.  "DARN IT STUPID HOOVES!"  Fluttershy flinched and cowered holding Dream as she curled up. "mother its ok it was just dad being clumsy"  Dream giggled as she said this and she kissed her mother on the cheek.  "thanks mom for listening to me it really helped"  Fluttershy smiled back.  "no problem dear its my job as your mother to help you with this kind of thing"  Fluttershy got up and trotted towards the kitchen then turned around.  "oh and you have school tomorrow"  Dream groaned and followed her mother.  "BUT MOOOOOOOM!"  Dream and Fluttershy giggled and went into the kitchen to help Somber with the pans he dropped.

After Dream had talked to her mother and a little bit to her father about what she felt she was able to be happy again.  This only lasted for around two weeks.  One day Dream trotted into class and saw Flare Spark and his special somepony Diamond Dusk kissing each other in the hall way out side of her class room.  she stared for a moment until her friends trotted to her and pulled her back to reality.  "yo Dream how was your break girl!?"  one of her friends said in a loud cheery voice.  "oh i suppose it was ok..."  Dream stated as she forced her self to look away from the stallion she always dreamed of having as he kissed another mare.  She forced a smile and trotted to her class passing by the couple as they continued to kiss long and passionately.  although she tried very hard to pay attention in class her mind kept pushing the image forward of the two kissing making it hard for her to listen.   "Dream would you please come to the board and answer the question?"  her teacher asked as he smiled and looked at her.   Dream came back to the ground and scrambled to try and remember what they were talking about.  "u-uh what?"  she said sounding dazed and clueless. "i said would you please answer the question on the board Dream".   She looked down at her black paper of notes a single word written on it but nothing more.  "s-sure?"  she said in a less than confidant voice and she slowly trotted up and grabbed the chalk and held it.  she looked at the problem on the bored and her mind raced and she panicked feeling all the eyes of her classmates bearing down on her like hawks on their pray.  "well Dream?  do you know how?"  her teacher asked in an almost bored and annoyed tone of voice.  Dream dropped the chalk and ran out of the room crying and she rushed to the mares bathroom and closed herself in one of the stalls.  Her face red from embaressment and her eyes red from crying and her mind broken from loss.  she cried for the next hour until Somber came to the school and picked her up to take her back home.  it was the longest and most quiet walk home she had ever taken in her life and it only made her feel more alone and unwanted.

Dream sat on the couch in between Fluttershy and Somber.  Fluttershy has one of her wings warped around Dream to confort her.  Dream cried silently into her mothers wing as somber nuzzled her back and rubbed it trying to get her to calm down.  "dream darling whats wrong?"  Fluttershy asked in a soothing calm voice.  "i-i love him so much...AND HE IS GONE!"  she cried harder and her body shock with every sob.  "baby... please calm down..."  Somber kissed his daughter on the cheek and hugged her tightly and she returned the hug even tighter.  "i just love him so much!"  she cried into his shoulder as he rubbed her back slowly.  "mmmmmm thank you dad... i-i have been very stressed lately."  she said and she relaxed yawning.   Somber laid Dream down and pulled a blanket over her body and then put a hoof around Fluttershy and rubbed in between her wing joints.  "S-Somber~"  Fluttershy moaned as she smiled and looked at him.  "S-Somber please not now... not no-mmmmmmm"  Somber smiled and pressed a hoof into her back in between the joints again and Fluttershys wings go limp and she eeped, relaxing completely going limp in his hooves.  "yes Flutters"  he nuzzled her cheek and kissed her lips softly.  "yes i do know how that makes you feel"  he picked her up and carried her to the bed room and laid her down and smiled at her.  "you get some sleep my beautiful pegasi.  you need it"

Dream woke up later that afternoon and get up and looked at her self in the mirror and sighed.  "your not pretty or smart or popular... he will never love you... no one ever will"  Dream said as she sees no hope.  "no one will want you"  she trotted to the front door and opened it slowly and ran out.  "you could disappear and no one would care"  she ran away into the dark night crying.  she ran until her muscles ached and she layed down in a grassy meadow.  "where am i?"  she asked scared slightly.  "i-i guess it doesn't matter no one cares so why should you"  she layed down and closed her eyes and fell asleep far from home.
