Not too long ago, in the magical land of Equestria, a black and red demonic alicorn stood assembled with a colorful cast of ponies at a cruel-looking black castle. This alicorn stood at the head of the 6 other ponies, and stared at the gate deliberately.
For five years, Equestria had been terrorized by a demon lord known only as Chaos. Chaos' evil had gone so far as to... *ahem* ... Have a kid with Princess Celestia, against her will. Chaos was the embodiment of evil, he was on par with Discord. Hell, the two had worked together for a time.
Until there came the day when Chaos stole his child, a grey and white alicorn colt, from Canterlot and thrust his influence over his child. The child became a black and red demonic alicorn, and from that day on, was known as Hatred Chaos'son.
Hatred was the tool of Chaos' atrocities, killing and torturing innocent ponies in his father's name. His wrath knew no bounds.
As one of 7 Elements of Destruction, the Element of Wrath, Hatred was his father's greatest tool. And to keep him that way, Chaos branded off his cutie mark as soon as he got it. But even so, Hatred served on.
Hatred met and allied with the other Elements of Destruction. There were, aptly named for their fatal flaws, Lust, Gluttony, Greed, Sloth, Envy, and Pride. They were not all, as you would assume, evil. In fact, Hatred learned they all wished to be rid of their fata flaws. They each wanted normal lives.
He also made a friend. A green earth pony, by the name of Fury. Hatred and Fury were fast friends, and even when Chaos took Hatred's ability to feel positive emotions away, their friendship remained.
Hatred's final task had to come, and it did. He was sent to Canterlot Castle, to assassinate Princess Celestia. Thankfully, it failed. Celestia impressed the truth of Hatred's origins upon him, and Hatred turned on Chaos.
Chaos immeadiately killed Fury, enraging Hatred. Chaos got away pretty soon. Hatred pursued him with the Elements of Harmony and Destruction, and with the help of all of them, banished Chaos to the Void.
But it was not over yet. Chaos himself had engineered the Elements of Destruction, and he sapped off their power to bring himself back to Equestria. This time, Hatred bid goodbye to his mate, a changeling named Ash, and his mother, Celestia, and with the Elements of Destruction, marched forth to a final deciding battle.
And so here they were. Before Chaos' tall black castle in the Realm of Darkness. As the Elements of Destruction did battle with Chaos' familiars, Hatred entered Chaos' throne room and did battle with Chaos.
It was a harrowing battle, and Hatred eventually sacrificed himself to destroy Chaos. Ponies say different thigns about the energy wave the passed over Equestria that day, but the truth is, that was all that was left of Chaos. Chaos was spread so thin, that hopefully, he'll never form a body again.
The Elements of Destruction got their normal lives, and lived them happily, free of the fatal flaws that had made them the Elements of Destruction in the first place.
As for Hatred... He was given a second chance, waking up with a grey and white coat in front of Canterlot Castle. He resumed his life as Dark Star, and became a blacksmith in Canterlot Castle.
Here, friends, is where our tale begins.
