My Little Story

At about 6:00 A.M. I awoke, noticing birds chirped and squirrels chattered amongst themselves. I also noticed how this wasn't my simple home, either. I slowly rose out of the small bed and noticed the small Pegasus of my dreams sleeping soundly. It was the most adorable thing I've ever seen in my life. Fluttershy rolled onto her side and realized I wasn't there anymore. She woke up with a high pitched yawn that turned my les to jelly. It was just too adorable. Fluttershy looked up at me and I looked back with a small smile.
We just sat there staring for a few moments and she broke the silence. "I wish this didn't have to end." "Me neither," I replied. "How about we go for a walk by the Everfree forest tomorrow?" She nodded and said goodbye as I left for my home. 'Oh man, what a night! I got to stay the night with the sweetest, most beautiful mare in Equestria.
I went to my home and grabbed my things for today's visit to Spike's house because Twilight is still worried about Spike. She's really knowledgeable, so how come she's worried over a small fever? It beats me, so this visit's free of charge. I arrived at Twilight's treehouse and see that Spike's fever broke, just like I said. Twilight tried to pay me for the visit, and I respectfully declined. It's not her fault for me not being able to convince her of the well being of her younger brother. So I said goodbye and continued on with the rest of my house visits.
For the rest of my work day, I just kept replaying the entire night with Fluttershy in my mind. It was just perfect. And I can't wait until after work to see her again. After Twilight's visit, I went to Nurse Redheart's workplace to volunteer at the local hospital where I saw Fluttershy's friend, Rainbow Dash who had broken wings. I said to her "This happens way too often for you, Miss Dash." I grabbed her right wing and set it back in place, and on cue, she started to cry. "There there, it's almost over. Just one more wing and you'll be ready for healing." I then grabbed her left wing and snapped it back in place. And man, did she start to cry then. She had geysers coming out of her eyeballs, similar to a cartoon. I don't cry, so this was extremely out of the ordinary for me.
So I walked her to a hospital bed and gave her some pain medication to last a week. But before I left, Rainbow Dash said "Hold on, Romeo. Before you leave, I wanna know what's going on between you and Fluttershy." I swallowed hard and slowly turned around. We haven't told each other about our meetings, since Rainbow Dash never came with us to the Migration. I thought it was best she knowledge the truth, so I told her "... Fluttershy and I have been getting together often." I didn't tell Rainbow Dash all of the truth, but I believe she filled in the rest.
So I then went home, seeing that there were no other patients in Ponyville's hospital. A while passed, and I made a cup of hot tea to drink before my walk with Fluttershy, and my mind started to wander off about thoughts of her. How she was so beautiful and adorable and other positive adjectives.
I then began to look at the wall. I don't know why, because there's nothing on that wall, but something's gonna happen involving that. And sure enough, the mail pony Derpy Hooves smashes through the wall, and the scent of banana nut muffins was all around her. I wasn't mad, oh no. I was furious. But I didn't yell, I just punched a hole right through the remaining panel of the wall. Derpy saw this act of pure rage and frantically started apologizing. "I just don't know what went wrong," she said. I began to reassure her that I wasn't going to do anything to her, and all of the damages would be taken care of. But Derpy insisted on me having one of her world-famous muffins. I thought for a moment, and said "sure, I'd love one." She didn't know I dislike baked goods, but it was a kind gesture.
I was on my way to Fluttershy's cottage with a small grin on my face, humming a tune that got stuck in my head a while back. Fluttershy was on the porch, waiting for my arrival. I said "Hello" to her, and she returned the welcome. Without many words, we began the walk along the edges of the Everfree Forest. I didn't mind all of the unnatural things in there, but Fluttershy would huddle close to my side every time she heard a noise. I didn't mind it at all. As a matter of fact, I wouldn't mind it if she did this more often. It made me feel as if I was to protect her for the rest of her life. Like her own personal guard.
Fluttershy stopped at a shady tree and said "Let's stop here for a moment." I agreed, and we both laid down in the shade to cool off. A while passed and I swore I heard that same yawn from this morning. I thought to myself 'it couldn't be,' but sure enough, there was Fluttershy, sleeping like a filly next to me. And sure enough, it was just too cute to handle. I didn't fall asleep, but for the next hour, I was at true peace. Something that was unattainable back in the war. That was some serious business for a medic. But I would do it again for this mare.
She woke up about fifteen minutes later, with a blissful look on her face. I smiled at her, and she smiled back. So we began the next half of the walk back to her cottage. Little did we know that a certain pink earth pony, accompanied by a white unicorn, who were watching us the entire time...
"See? I told you," said Pinkie Pie. Rarity was just stunned. Fluttershy got a a colt friend of her own without telling her, Fluttershy's best friend! "I'll have to ask her about him at the spa tomorrow," said Rarity. The two were so enticed at how open Fluttershy is to me because she's usually so shy and timid towards everyone, even her five best friends. Rarity decided it was best not to look over them too long, for other ponies gathered around the park as well and she didn't want them to hear private affairs. So Rarity and Pinkie Pie went to the Carousel Boutique to discuss the matter over some tea.
At about late, when the sun was going down, we arrived at Fluttershy's cottage and I said "goodbye" to her, even though I wanted to stay longer. It really is the hardest part saying goodbye. So I thought to myself, 'what could I do for her in the meantime? Aha! I'll get her that cot I promised as a gift to her. It's not much, but I'm sure it would be appreciated. So I took a trip to the Ponyville mattress shop and got a "deluxe comfort" model fold-up bed. I took it home for now and would give it to her tomorrow.
Now there's one more errand I have to run before I retire for the night; to check up on my most recent patient, Rainbow Dash. I ran over the the Ponyville Hospital where she currently resides, for now, to find she's reading a novel with great interest. As a matter of fact, she didn't even notice me enter, not that I made a great noise or anything. I looked at her chart, and reports showed that her pain went down greatly, just as I though it would.
I asked her "What book is that, Miss Dash?" She rapidly looked up at me, and then hid the book under her sheets, like evidence from a crime. She told me "What book? I wasn't reading a book. That's for eggheads." I gave her a look of pure sincerity, and she understood I wouldn't make fun of her for reading. So she said "Daring Doo and the Sapphire Stone, Stitch." Did she just use my name? I don't know, but I made a mental note to get it for her after she heals up, which should be within a few days.
So I left the hospital for the night, and began my trip home. When I got there, I just realized that three fourths of my wall was gone, and the remaining section had a big hole in the middle of it. I half-eyed it and fell on my bed, falling into a deep sleep.
