When Universes Collide
The Strike
Load Full StoryNext ChapterIt was early saturday morning and I was still tired from staying up late. I walked downstairs and checked the weather for the day on the computer. It said there was a thunderstorm headed our way, but wouldn’t get there until later today. So i ignored it and played some games on the PC. A couple hours later I realized that I needed some money on my steam account so I decided to walk down to Gamestop to get it. I grabbed my wallet and ipod and started walking. It was getting dark from the clouds overhead and I remembered there was a storm soon. Still I walked on not thinking it would start before I got back home. But there was a strike of lightning not twenty feet away from where I was standing and I felt the wave of electricity flow past me. I jumped and ran away as fast as I could, not really sure where I was headed. More lightning was hitting the ground, each bolt closer to me than the last one. It was confusing me why they wouldn’t stop so I ran faster.I was running through a park when my foot struck a rock and I fell. I saved myself from hitting the ground too hard by rolling, but I couldn’t get back up in time and I saw a bright flash of light. Everything went black as I felt a shockwave of energy pass through me. I thought I was going to die. But apparently the world had other plans for me.
I awoke several hours later, still in the same park field I collapsed in. I sat up suddenly remembering what had happened. I kicked myself to make sure I was still alive. I kicked a little too hard, now I’m limping around like an idiot. “At least I’m still alive.” I said to myself. I figured out where I was and started on my way home. On the way I started to see random flashes of colorful images around me, and one looked like it was trying to jump at me, it looked so vivid I jumped back from it. I rolled my eyes thinking that what I was seeing was only from the shock and continued on my way. But as I almost reached home I felt something solid hit my leg. I turned and nothing was there. I kept looking for a few minutes and felt something hit my chest and stay there, it felt round-ish and somewhat cold. I freaked out swatting at my chest trying to get whatever was on me off. But I couldn’t feel it as soon as I backed away. Then when I tried to continue walking, again something hit my leg, I freaked again and ran for it. I was distracted so I had accidentally went the wrong way of my house. After about five minutes of running I decided to slow down and look around. I was back at the park somehow and was very confused. Then something collided with my back, hard. I fell but twisted so I landed on my back. Then some invisible object pressed down on me and pinned me where I was. Something hard landed on my chest a bit harder than I could handle, and I blacked out.
