When Universes Collide

I awoke a few hours later, not feeling pressure any more. I was still in a daze when I sat up and looked around.

“Haha, look at Rainbow Dash.” I said to no one in particular.

“You got a problem with how I look buddy?” A somehow familiar voice said.

I shook my head suddenly alert. “Wait, did you just talk back to me?”

“Yea I talked backed to you are you an idiot or something? Twilight can you believe this guy? He doesn’t even know when he’s being talked to!”

Another voice spoke, “Oh calm down Rainbow Dash, I’m sure the only reason he’s acting this way is because he’s confused.”

I jumped to my feet and I looked around myself. I was in shock but I was totally freaking out because the ones who stood before me were no other but the Mane 6. Twilight Sparkle, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Apple Jack, Rarity, and Fluttershy were surrounding me, with less confused faces than what I had. As I looked from one to the next I was becoming more and more confused.

“Ok, ok, hold on a second. Am I high? Or maybe I’m dead and this is heaven to me. No it couldn’t be I’m still in the same park as I was when I blacked out. Oh! Twilight you look a lot less confused than I am right now. Can you explain to me what the HELL is going on?”

“Um... I’m sorry how do you know us?”

I stood there with a blank expression and it hit me, they’re from a show that I enjoyed watching, and they have never even heard of my world, or I didn’t think so at least. “Ok sorry for no introduction. I’m Alex and the only reason I know you is because you’re on a show I watch and I don’t think you guys knew that.”

“I DID!” a cheerful voice piped up. “Yea I know of this place I’ve looked into this place before, though I’m not quite sure how I did it.”

Twilight looked surprised, “Wait Pinkie, you mean to tell me you knew of this place before I did?”

“Well sure Twilight, don’t you remember that black space of nothingness we stood in when you gave me back my mouth after you defeated Trixie? You gave my mouth back and then I shouted really loudly, ‘FINALLY!’

“Now that you say that I do remember that area, I was wondering for the longest time what that was, and of how you got there.”

“Twilight, Pinkie, be quiet for a second. Pinkie what you did is what I call, or what we humans call, ‘breaking the fourth wall’. It’s when a cartoon, like yourself, makes direct contact with it’s viewers.”

“Wait but there was no wall when I did it, it kind of just, happened.”

“Exactly, the cartoon can’t see the wall there and wait a minute WHY am I explaining this? THIS CAN’T BE REAL!! I mean come on, talking ponies from your favorite show are here in your life talking to you. Come on Alex wake up already I know this isn’t real it just can’t be. OW WHAT WAS THAT FOR!?” Rainbow Dash had kicked my legs pretty hard.

“Just reassuring you that this is no dream kiddo. We’re real and we’re here so what you have to say about that?”

I stood dumbfounded as I looked around again. I chuckled to myself, then a little bit harder, then a full on “bust-a-gut” laugh that somewhat scared the six. “Oh I can’t believe this! Here I am, standing next to talking ponies, one who just kicked me, and it’s real, it’s really freaking REAL. TWILIGHT YOU STILL HAVEN’T EXPLAINED YET!” I shouted at the end with my eye twitching and a smirk on my face.

“Ok Alex calm down, I’ll explain what I know of. You see, there was a horrible storm a little while ago, and not even the weather team could handle it. It was going out of control. Suddenly lightning started to strike the ground, but it was unusual the way it was going. It looked to be following something because it continued to strike, but on a path-like direction. I saw one blinding flash as one struck in the dead center of a field, and a circle appeared, but then it started to pull at things around it, like a black hole. More and more ponies and homes were sucked into the growing hole, and not even the most powerful unicorns in all of equestria could stop it. I finally was pulled in and it was dark for a moment, but then I saw I was in another field-like place. But I didn’t see any other pony around me, and thought that they just appeared somewhere else. But then I saw you on the ground, smoke swirling around you almost as if by magic.”

“HOLD IT! I know I should’ve interrupted earlier but I was curious as to what happened. Anyway you said that there was a super-bright strike of lightning in a field after it appeared to be following something?” Twilight nodded her head. “You want to know WHAT it was actually chasing?” Her eyes changed to an expression that revealed curiosity. “It was me. I was running from it, totally confused as to why the lightning was striking so close to me. I had finally tripped and fell, that’s when it caught up to me and hit me. That must have been the super-bright flash you saw.”

“Hold on a second there sugarcube, do you mean to say that the lightning here was the same as our lightning?”

“My thoughts exactly, so when I was struck, apparently the impossible happened. Two lightning bolts struck at the exact same spot as each other, which the target was me, so now, apparently, the two have mixed, but since I was the only one in the blast, only I can see you and be affected by you guys.”

Pinkie suddenly looked surprised. “THAT’S WHY!!”

“That’s why what Pinkie?”

“I was running around for a while before I found Twilight and the others and I was running THROUGH people, YEA, it wasn’t around them, I was going right through them! I was shouting at a couple of them wondering why they weren’t responding to me. But I gave up after a while of trying.”

“So then that proves it, I’m the only one who can interact with you guys.”

“Ponies.”

“What?”

“Call us ponies and stop calling us guys! We’re not guys in case you haven’t realized!”

“Chill Rainbow, ok I’m sorry it’s just what I use when I make a reference to something or someone. And yes I already realized you were not guys.”

“Better have realized it, I would’ve had to kick you again.”

“You would have enjoyed kicking me again you can’t deny that Rainbow Dash. You already have multiple times so why not again right?”

“Shut up Alex.” she said with a smirk.
