Chapter Two: The Journey

Bill's eyes slowly open with a groggy feeling upon his body. He got up with pain all over his body. Bill gasps at what he sees. The land around him is colorful and so is the plants. He takes off the clothes that he wore back on earth and hung them on a nearby branch. He saw a puddle a few feet away and trotted towards it. He looked down to see what he looks like. He was a dark-light blue Earth Pony with a dark blue jagged mane with light blue highlights.

He could not believe what just happened. He remembered what G-man said about there being a necklace with a button on it. He looked at his neck, finding a metal rope with a red button on it around his neck. He peered at it closely. He would not even dare to press it because he knows what it does.

He looks at the sky and sees the bright shining stars. He stared at the moon for a couple of minutes.  He noticed that the moon was somewhat bigger then the one on Earth. Bill heard a noise behind him. He remembers the kid next to him during the transformation. He looks back and sees the light blue earth pony with a dark blue mane and tail. "Um... hello?" said Bill nervously. The unknown pony gets up groaning from pain. "H-hello," was his reply. "May I ask who you are?" asked Bill. "Well, my name is Reece Bullard," was the other pony's answer. "Oh my gosh! Midnight? Is that you? It's me! Nox-Scriptor!" yelled Bill in excitement. Reece's head went straight up in amazement.

They both started a conversation that lasted for about an hour. Bill said, "I just had a thought. Since we are in a new world we can change our names!" "Why would we do that," asked Reece. "Well, I would like to change my name to Nox-Scriptor," said Bill."Eh, might as well change my name to Midnight," said Reece with a sigh. "Your coat does look pretty dark to have the name Midnight," said Bill.

Nox-Scriptor looked up at the sky again. He noticed that the bright stars are moving into a constellation. They took shape of an arrow pointing to the north. Nox-Scriptor pointed at the arrow in the sky. "I think we must follow it. I do not know why, but I have a gut feeling to follow it," said Nox-Scriptor. They started their wondrous long journey that night.

They followed the constellation in the night sky. "Hey, Nox. I think we should sleep by day and travel by night," said Midnight. "That's absurd," said Nox-Scriptor, "We will still know where we are going by day. All we need to do is keep on following this arrow until we hit something."

"Yeah, but how are we supposed to know where we are going?"

"All we need to do is to take a cup- I mean all we need to do is take a draw an arrow in the dirt in which the arrow in the sky is pointing. Once we wake up we get ready and follow the dirt arrow."

"That seems easy enough."

When they got to a small patch of grass Nox-Scriptor drew an arrow in the dirt. Then they lied down on the cold grass and fell asleep in minutes. They woke up the next morning feeling cold and stiff. "Nnnnnnnnugh" Nox-Scriptor mumbled under his breath when he woke up. "Wait… what are we supposed to eat for breakfast," said Midnight very worried. "Don't get so worried, Midnight. Since we are horses, as I should say, ponies we can eat the grass," said Nox-Scriptor in a calm voice. Midnight put his head down and took a bite of grass. Nox-Scriptor thought that Midnight would find the grass disgusting and spit it out, but Midnight chewed and swallowed happily. "It doesn't taste disgusting or weird?" said Nox-Scriptor very confused. "I think that being ponies means that we like the taste of grass," Said Midnight intelligently. "Whatever, Dr. Kliener," said Nox-Scriptor.

They both ate the grass until they were satisfied. "Well, at least we don't have to worry about starvation," Nox-Scriptor said relaxed. Midnight looked at the dirt arrow and went the way it pointed and Nox-Scriptor did the same. They did not know where they were going and where they were. At the edge of the forest they spotted a road along the way. Midnight stopped when he saw it. Nox-Scriptor got a stick and pointed it the way the constellation arrow pointed.

Nox-Scriptor and Midnight went on the road which was surrounded by a vast field. A big gust of wind blew into their faces from the entrance of the forest. A dark figure walked out of light gray smoke. When the figure emerged from the smoke Nox-Scriptor and Midnight were amazed.

"Hello travelers! I am the great and powerful Trixie," yelled Trixie. Nox-Scriptor and Midnight looked at each other and rolled on the ground laughing. "What is so funny," asked Trixie. Nox-Scriptor and Midnight caught their breath after a few minutes. "Oh, man… that was hilarious," said Nox-Scriptor wiping his tears. "What is so hilarious about the Great and Powerful Trixie?!" yelled Trixie with anger. "It's just that you are actually here and… ugh you just won't understand," said Midnight. Trixie then walked away with sadness hovering over her head.

Nox-Scriptor started to walk towards the stick pointing the way. Once he got to it he noticed that it went the same way the road was going. He beckoned Midnight to come over and he noticed it also. They soon decided to follow the road. Trixie disappeared and they didn't seem to notice. Nox-Scriptor looked at the sun and noticed that it was mid-day. "Maybe we shall stop for a few minutes because if you look at the sun it is in the middle of the sky. Which means that it is the middle of the day," said Nox-Scriptor.

Nox-Scriptor drew a small arrow pointing the way in the road and they went to the longest patch of grass they could find and started to eat. Once they were both full of grass to eat they started on the road again.
