Give Your Heart A Break
Chapter II
Previous ChapterNext ChapterPinkie Pie pinched herself if this was reality. Unfortunately, it was reality. Gummy, her beloved pet alligator died from a car accident because she threw the ball too far towards the busy road. Her little pocket of sunshine, happiness, and the most important thing who meant so much to her is never coming back to her again.
"Oh Gummy. I'm so sorry, I would do anything to bring you back, but it's too late. I didn't make it in time. Now, you're taken away from me." Pinkie Pie sobbed, tears flooding her eyes as she cried a bucketload of tears.
"What seems to be the commotion?" Rarity wondered as she and the rest of friends noticed the other ponies gathering around Pinkie, also wondering what happened. The driver who accidentally killed Gummy was explaining to everypony about what happened while Pinkie just slumped there, sobbing right by her dead friend.
"Pinkie Pie!" Rainbow Dash called, alarmed as the friends dashed towards Pinkie.
"You won't believe it guys. I lost the most important thing in the world!" she cried as she sobbed into Rainbow's mane.
"Oh my, I'm so sorry." Fluttershy replied compassionately as she hugged Pinkie. Twilight, Applejack and Rarity were too shocked and hurt when seeing Pinkie like this. Poor Pinks. Applejack thought. That alligator meant so much to her.
Rainbow Dash let Pinkie Pie have a good cry as her mane starts to deflate and her coat and mane lost all it's vibrant pink color. Pinkie felt her heart literally shatter to pieces as she felt the pain of loss.
It's been days and months already since Gummy died and Pinkie's taking it pretty hard. She locked herself in her room and cried all day and all night, blaming herself that she lost her dearest friend. It has been concerning Mr. and Mrs. Cake since Pinkie hasn't came downstairs to work lately and they have been trying to coax her out of her room for once but no use. Pinkie's now glued to her room. Not only it has been worrying them but her friends are also concerned about it.
"I am worried about Pinkie Pie right now." Dash said. "It's been already months now and Pinkie still isn't gonna budge out of her room!"
"I know, she's still devastated about Gummy." Fluttershy added.
"I know she is, but she has to move on with her life ya know? She's worrying everybody, including me. I'm starting to miss all the random talks and bubbly rambling Pinkie would always do when she's around." Dash replied sadly.
"That is a good point, Rainbow but everypony tried everything to get Pinkie out of her room. But no use. And she hasn't been happy for months too. I'm really miss her happy smiles and giggles. I want that Pinkie." added Twilight.
"I'm gonna go visit her then. I'm ready for a challenge. I'm gonna make her get out of her room once and for all and to help her with her loss." Dash suggested with determination in her eyes.
"That's the spirit, Rainbow!" Applejack grinned. "Go get her!"
The Sugarcube Corner haven't changed lately since Gummy's death. It seemed pretty normal to Rainbow despite the emptiness and hurt she's feeling after thinking about Pinkie. Dash went inside to greet the Cakes. The Cakes looked like they haven't slept for days and the sad frowns were literally be stuck on their faces for a while.
"Hello, Mr. and Mrs. Cake. Dang! Everything has changed alot around here." Dash greeted with her signature smile as her eyes wandered around in shock on how horrible and dull the bakery was. Somehow it lost all their vibrant colors, the food and sweets Pinkie baked were all dark brown and gray like pebbles and Mr. and Mrs. Cake somehow looked like they lost their colors too not only because they were exhausted from all the work without Pinkie, but because Pinkie wasn't there to spread happiness and joy like she would always do since all the laughter was drained out of her body.
"Where's Pinkie Pie right now?" she asked.
"She's still in her room." Mrs. Cake looked at her with very sad eyes.
"It's already months now since Pinkie's pet alligator died. We tried like everything to make her happy again but no use. Sugarcube Corner used to be a very happy place, now it's nothing but a sad, depressing place to be." added Mr. Cake as tears began to form in his eyes. "We miss the happy Pinkie. We tried everything to help her move on from Gummy but no use. That alligator meant so much to her."
Rainbow Dash nodded. "I know. I just wish I can do something to make her happy again."
The Cakes looked at her with hope. "Can you possibly help her feel better about her loss?"
She smiled. "Of course I can! My job ain't finished til I see a pony feel better. I'm ready for a challenge." she winked as she dashed to Pinkie's room upstairs and there she was, slumped and down as she laid in her bed sobbing her eyes out for a while now. Dash tried to fight back tears as she saw Pinkie now. It hurts seeing her like this and would do anything to see that bright Pinkie smile again.
"Hey Pinkie?" Rainbow called to her gently as she walked towards her.
Hearing her voice, Pinkie turned to her. She looked like she haven't slept or eaten for days. Her eyes were bloodshot red from crying, her hair was slowly draining to a much more darker color and the sparkles that were once there in her eyes were completely gone. It was a horrible yet heartbreaking sight to see, according to Rainbow.
"Hey, Rainbow." she sniffled as she wiped her nose with a kleenex. "What are you doing here?"
"I'm here to make you feel better." Dash replied as she wrapped her hoof around Pinkie to comfort her. "And to help you get over Gummy."
"Thanks for being a good friend, Dashie. But I'm not sure I'll be able to move on from him. He's my best friend,he's a good listener, he's so adorable and he's the only pet I have. No other pet can replace him." she responded wistfully. "A party isn't a party without him."
Dash can literally feel her heart breaking as she felt compassionate and sympathetic towards the pink pony. She couldn't imagine what would happen if she ever lost Tank.
"I know and understand how much he means alot to you but you know that he may not be here anymore but he will always will be in your heart." she reassured her as she pointed at Pinkie's heart. "Everything happens for a reason, how would Gummy feel if he sees you in this awful state? You wouldn't want him to feel sad because of his death, do you? Because in life, everypony lives and dies. It's a life process, Pinkie."
Pinkie nodded in understanding. "Well that is true, Dashie. But how am I going to move on from him? It feels impossible."
"I understand Pinkie. I felt this way too before. Tell ya what, I'll help you." Dash cooed as she pulled Pinkie in for a hug. She was determined to bring a smile back on Pinkie's face no matter what.
