Loneliness

The Letter

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

You place your knife and fork on the platter of your recently wolfed-down cinnamon bun. You pat your satisfied belly and sigh.

That was a really good breakfast, it'd be a shame if he was an assassin.

You giggle at your own dark joke and walk over to a two seated couch in front of an unlit fire place in your room. You have no need for the fireplace until its winter, but you enjoy having it lit to pass the time and relax, but you were out of fire wood which would make winter less than bearable. How the ponies go about their day without complaining about the temperature is one of the mysteries of Equestria that will always elude you.

You suddenly remember that you have an unread letter from Princess Celestia! You jump up and over your love seat and trip over the back of it, causing you to fall face first in to the floor. Luckily you turned your head at the last second and averted a broken nose, a concussion though? Not likely. You manage to pick yourself up and off the floor. Dazed but now properly awake, you make your way over to your bed, clutching the right side of your face. You let out a groan of pain and you pick up the scroll on your bed. You try to unfasten the bow holding the scroll rolled up with your left hand, but to no avail. You let go of your face with the other hand. Another moan in pain.

With one hand to hold the scroll steady and the other to unfasten the bow, which unfastened rather easily. You unroll the scroll and read its contents. Which are thought provoking.

Dear [your name],

I know how you are feeling right now. We all have been there. That period of long solitude. No one to share your feelings with. It can be completely maddening. Especially if you are the last of your kind. You know we tried what we could to bring a human female over, but the spell is far too unpredictable.

Nearly all humans we tried to bring over have died in the process of being brought over or died shortly after emerging. I think I have a solution. Please visit me in my tower as soon as its convenient.

Yours truly,

Princess Celestia

You're confused by this letter. True, it did get lonely here, being the only human, surrounded by technicolor talking ponies, but it never drove you completely mental. All you did was lock your door, pull the curtains closed, let your mind wander and your hand wander into your pants. It wasn't perfectly sanitary and messy to boot, but it was better than nothing.

A couple of ponies sympathized with you greatly and offered to help you out when you got lonely. Your go to response was a disgusted glare. You weren't exactly fond of the idea of a pony and a human 'doing the dance with no pants.' But Twilight, a pony and a friend, kissed you. So what do you know?

Thousands of thoughts rushed through your head after reading the letter over a second time. Is she going to send me back? Is she going to turn me into a pony? Is she going to make a female clone of myself? Wouldn't that just be fapping? You had a tendency to over think things and it usually led to your downfall.

You try not to think too much about what the Princess has in store for you as you put on a house robe and slippers. You exit your chambers and begin your way to Princess Celestia's tower.
