Pancakes

Vinyl woke up to the smell of pancakes and maple syrup. Oh what a heavenly smell. It's like...heavenly. Vinyl gets up and floats down the hall in mesmerized grace to the kitchen where she encounters a cream colored flank that had interrupted her vision. Especially with the wrapped candy as a cutie mark, it was like they're meant to be eye candy. Oh crap she's turning around enough staring. Vinyl quickly turns and finds deep interest in the color of the wall.

“Well good morning Vinyl did you sleep well?” Bon Bon says.

“Hmmm Oh yes I did actually.” Vinyl replies.

“That’s good. Well, I made pancakes. Would you like some?” Bon Bon turns her head to take a glance at Vinyl.

At the moment the word pancakes slipped from the lips of Bon Bon’s mouth, Vinyl’s face beamed with a massive smile and her tail wagged like she was part dog. Vinyl quickly and diligently took a seat at the table in anticipation of the delicacy soon to come. She stares in anticipation as Bon Bon slowly lathers the pancakes in syrup. Bon Bon picks up the plate with a stack of scrumptious pancakes upon it. As she walks over to Vinyl to deliver the delicate gold she turns the corner right in front of Vinyl but trips on a chair that was sticking out farther then it should have. Bon Bon sprawls forward, launching the pancakes at Vinyl who was too distracted by the beauty of Bon Bon to notice the pancakes that were flying at Vinyl’s face until it was too late.

*SPLAT*

The plate of pancakes slams into Vinyl’s face and slowly slides down, leaving behind a sticky mess. One stubborn pancake was staying behind mainly because it was skewered onto Vinyl’s horn. Bon Bon frantically gets up. “Oh sweet Celestia! I’m so sorry Vinyl! Here let me get you cleaned up.” But Vinyl was too distracted by the golden delicacies that now graced the floor. That is, she was until she felt a wet cloth rubbing across her face. After Bon Bon cleaned off Vinyl’s face, a drop of syrup dripped off her horn. Bon Bon was about to clean her horn with the cloth when she smiles, stricken with an idea. Vinyl gives her a quizzical look.

“Umm Bonie what are you smiling about?” she asks.

“Oh nothing... here let me clean your horn real quick.” Bon Bon leans in with her tongue hanging out. Vinyl’s eyes widen. The horn is one of the most sensitive parts of a unicorn.

Is this really happening? She thought to herself. This must be a dream it has to be. But as she thought that, she felt wet flesh make contact with her horn. Vinyl shudders with a wave of bliss. Ya... this is definitely real. Vinyl closes her eyes as Bon Bon delicately licks her horn repeatedly. Vinyl just sits back and enjoys the waves of bliss with each lick. Then she hears her name being called faintly. What the heck that sounds like Bon Bon but she’s licking my horn right now. Vinyl heard her name again but was still feeling the wet tongue on her horn.

Vinyl opens her eyes and sees the cream colored mare in front of her, still feeling a warm tongue being dragged across her horn. She hears her name called again in a soft angelic voice. Then she realizes that the mare in front of her is sideways. She looks up and shes Bon Bon trying to stifle a giggle with her hoof over her mouth. Then she feels another lick across her horn and the sound of purring. Wait, purring.... What the heck is going on? Vinyl reaches up and feels a furry lump that wasn't her mane. What the buck. Is this a cat?

“Ummm Bon Bon do you have cats?”

Bon Bon lets out a giggle. “Yes I do, but they're not mine. They’re a friends that I am watching for her until she gets back.”

“Oh I see. Ok then.”

“Ok, well, I came to see if you wanted breakfast?” Bon Bon asks.

Vinyl’s eyes widen with glee. “Hay yes.” Vinyl gets up in a flurry to get to the kitchen. Throwing the cat off during the abrupt movement. Bon Bon laughs at Vinyl’s antics as she walks to the kitchen. She finds Vinyl sitting at the table.

“So Vinyl how did you sleep?”

“Pretty good.”

“Good, what did you dream about?” Bon Bon asks with a smirk, having a vague idea about what was going on in Vinyl’s head when the cat was licking her. Vinyl lets out a blush so vibrant that if the lights went off it would be her own lamp. Bon Bon chuckles and goes back to cooking breakfast.

After Vinyl calmed down a bit she asks what Bon Bon was cooking. “Hey Bonie whatcha cooken?”

“Oh, something that you will love.”

Vinyl stares at her from the table. “And that is?”

Bon Bon turns with a smile on her face. “Pancakes.” Vinyl stares at Bon Bon with a blush spreading across her face. Bon Bon lets out a laugh at the embarrassment of Vinyl. Bon Bon makes breakfast and then the two sit and have a breakfast with no incidents like in the dream, just minor chit chat. The whole time Vinyl was trying to figure out why she acted so shyly when Bon Bon inquired about the dream. Does she know or... Is she just messing with me? The two finish up breakfast and Vinyl decides to head home to get ready for work later on in the evening.

The two went about their daily lives throughout the week meeting up with the rest of their friends. The two never had time as just the two of them. Bon Bon was becoming very curious as to what happened to Vinyl after she watched her dad being ripped apart. Throughout the week she would ask how she held it together after her dad died. Vinyl just said that she was pretty much forced to move on, so she said that she just put it behind her. Bon Bon wasn’t stupid though, she could tell that Vinyl had never moved on from it. When Vinyl told the story about her dad Bon Bon could tell that she was torn apart inside but hardly showed emotion on the outside, like she was wearing a mask. But she didn’t want to be pushy because she enjoyed her friendship with Vinyl. There was also the possibility of more coming out of this relationship. She had never thought of herself as a fillyfooler. She had put the puzzle together and determined that Vinyl most likely had feelings for her. But she wasn’t curtain and she didn’t want to ask yet, just in case the puzzle she put together was wrong.

Then one night Vinyl came to Bon Bon’s home around dinner time.
