Pinkie Pie gets diabetes?

This is a side chapter that takes place in the third chapter. Remember when Twilight said that she saw Pinkie that night? Well this story explains what she was doing that night.

Twilight lay in her bed tossing and turning trying to get to sleep. She had tried some basic natural remedies to sleeping problems such as a glass of warm milk, stretching (Which by the way caused her to fall off her bed which only added to her insomnia) and playing quiet peaceful music that could put the most hyper active ponies to sleep. Across the room Spike slept curled up in his basket snoring softly. Twilight smiled at the peaceful sight but groaned as she shifted in her bed still trying to sleep. Finally accepting that she probably won't be sleeping anytime soon she got up and head towards the library.

Looking through a shelf of novels for a moment before levitating a book towards her. She headed over to a table and lit a couple candles bringing a small area around the table into a dim light. She opened the book and started reading. It was but a few minutes into the novel she sighed, finding that she did not feel like reading before closing the book. Bringing the book back into the shelf she decided that she should go for a walk around Ponyville. Blowing the candles out, she opened the door and closing it cautiously not wanting to wake up her number one assistant.

Walking with eyes half open bored out of her mind, having only candle lamps to light her way through the town and several miscellaneous buildings such as bars,twenty-four hour stores and clubs. She didn't like visiting the dingy bars filled with lonely and dodgy ponies neither did she feel like going for a late night shopping trip. So a club it was. Twilight had never been to a club before, however she has seen them from the outside when walking around. All she knew about them was that it was a lively place with bright colorful flashing lights filling the building, loud music that ponies danced to, drinking and other social activities. She knew the owner of the Ponyville club, her name was Vinyl Scratch or more commonly known as DJ Pon-3. She was a white mare with a blue streak mane and a musical note for a cutie mark.

Reaching the outside of the club she saw said mare spinning vinyls and rocking her head to the music while a large amount of ponies were dancing to it. Some were not partaking in the act of dancing and were either drinking at the side or talking among their friends. Heading towards the entrance she stopped abruptly as a plum colored mare shakily bumped into ponies surrounding her giggling after apologizing every time. Twilight recognize the pony as Berry Punch who was also known as the local but friendly drunk. A bottle of hard cider was held in her hoof.

As she passed by Twilight she asked "H-hey Twi *hic light long time *hic no see", giggling in fits after she was done.

Twilight smiled awkwardly. "Yeah, it has been Berry".

Her little giggle fit passed and she asked "Hey have you seen *hic have you seen *hic have you seen Colgate?"

"No I have not".

"Eh it's fine she'll *hic find me later", she began giggling slightly before moving passed Twilight to the front of the building next to the entrance and falling on her back and passing out. Twilight shook her head with a smile before finally entering the building. She didn't want to dance and she didn't see anyone else that she knew so she headed towards the bar. Manning the bar was a unicorn colt with a lime green coat and a black mane. His cuties mark was a cocktail glass. He saw Twilight coming over and gave her a thin smile.

"Hi my name's Mixer. Well at least that's what everyone calls me".

"Hello Mixer".

"So what'll it be?"

"Umm can I see a menu".

Nodding, Mixer's horn glowed a light green and a menu was lifted on to the bar table. Looking at the menu she checked out the list that said low alcohol content drinks.

"I'll have a wine spritzer please".

"Certainly".

Heading towards the back of the bar he took the essential ingredients and mixed the cocktail together. When he was done he placed the drink in front of Twilight. She thanked Mixer before taking a sip.

An hour passed and she had finished the drink along with many others. She was hopelessly drunk, singing sea shanty's with other drunk pony's and dancing horribly though the alcohol had nothing to do with it. Though drunk she looked over the sea of ponies that surrounded her and saw a certain pink pony in a trench coat looking at a passed out Berry Punch before moving on.

"Hehehe *hic is that hic* Pink *hic Pink *hic Pink *hic", seeing as she couldn't continue her sentence without a hiccup she laughed at herself before falling back in to the crowd.
