Chapter 4: Wut?

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

After discovering that Pinkie had sneaked out of her home late at night, bought a whole bag of powdered sugar then ate said bag of powdered sugar, Twilight excused herself and left Sugarcube Corner. In about fifteen minutes Twilight returned with Applejack who had brought a long rope and a roll of duct tape along with her. It took nearly an hour to properly restrain the energetic pink pony with the rope. They had knocked over furniture and piles of old empty soda cans, they had broken a window, a hole was made in the wall in the shape of Pinkie Pie and much energy was wasted as both Twilight and Applejack did not have the vast amount of energy that Pinkie had.

Pinkie lay on the carpet floor of her room. Her hooves were tied to her torso and her snout was clamped with duct tape. They taped her mouth because she had bit at the farm pony while they were in their little scuffle. Pinkie's face was filled with sadness because that she had gotten caught and had to see a doctor but also for injuring her friends in the process. Both Applejack and Twilight were panting in exhaustion. Applejack rubbed at her right hoof (As that was where Pinkie had bit her) while taking sips from the lemonade that Mrs. Cake had offered earlier. Twilight held a bag of ice to her forehead which was where Pinkie had bucked her. All the while Pinkie stared longingly at the cold glass of lemonade.

When they were done with their drinks and their rest, Twilight and Applejack were preparing to bring Pinkie to see a doctor to explain even more properly on the dangers of not taking care of the fact that she had diabetes. Pinkie lay tied on to Applejacks back, still struggling with her restraints and mumbling through the tape that covered her mouth pleading for her friends to release her.

"Ya sure this was necessary Twilight?", Applejack asked.

"Yes i'm sure. She sure did put up a fight huh?", Twilight replied as she felt at the darkening bump on her head.

"Yeah, ah didn't really think she had it in 'er", Applejack said as she started to scratch at her injury. It had started to swell up slightly and it  had also gotten really itchy, it was probably not a good sign and she thought to herself that she should get it checked out when they get to the hospital.

As they walked through Ponyville towards the hospital, ponies around them looked at them some with awkward expressions on their face and some with eyebrows raised in plain confusion as to why was the towns favorite pink party pony was binned in rope and had tape covering her mouth. One pony in particular, who had an aquamarine colored coat and a white and mint streaked mane, whispered something to another pony beside her, who had a beige coat with a blue and pink streaked mane causing her to burst out in laughter, however Twilight and Applejack were only able to gather what the mare had said.

"Huh, I didn't think that they were into that kind of stuff"

Both of their faces were red soon after and their expressions turned from annoyance from the number of ponies who were staring into embarrassment from that simple comment. Unfortunately, Pinkie had also heard what the green pony had said, she was blushing mildly while staring icy daggers into the pony. Pinkie thought to herself that she was definitely going to have to give Lyra some hardcore pranking when she gets out of this. Something that may involve or may not involve setting fire to her house and burn everything she owns... While she was inside of the house.....

Or she could try super gluing her lyre to her hoof. Yeah, that will work.

Reaching the entrance of the hospital Pinkie looked at the building that towered over them. It was the tallest building in Ponyville though not the tallest they have ever seen. Entering through the automatic doors, their nose's were filled with a clean and medicinal smell. To their right they saw several ponies waiting to be checked in. One of them had a runny red nose and was sneezing uncontrollably as the other ponies surrounding him ushered away slowly taking care not to bump into anyone and to make sure that they did not catch whatever the poor colt had.

A couple of ponies looked at them with puzzled looks. Twilight rolled her eyes and trotted over to the counter and started talking to the receptionist. Pinkie and Applejack stood by the entrance (Well technically not Pinkie since she was still tied onto Applejack's back.), they could not hear what they were saying so Applejack decided to strike a conversation.

"Uh, so Pinkie... Sorry we had ta do all that ruffling and tussling earlier".

Pinkie mumble something that may have sounded like she had accepted the apology. Realizing that she couldn't speak with the tape on she turned away and chuckled awkwardly before silencing herself.

After about a few minute of Twilight explaining why they brought Pinkie in like this and asking for a doctor to explain to her why she should be wary of having Diabetes she went over to her friends and told them that they would be called in in a couple minutes. They found some seats that were away from the sneezing pony and propped Pinkie on a chair. A couple minutes turned into an hour as the number of ponies that were waiting for their appointment dwindled. As time passed slowly, Twilight and Applejack were beginning to feel drowsy. As they closed their eyes to rest for a while they were instantly open again as Pinkie shouted into their eyes with joy.

"Yay I'm free! Well at least I can talk again anyway!"

They both looked to see that Pinkie had apparently taken the time to gnaw through the tape and was now able to speak again. A call for Twilight's name caused brought their attention towards a pink maned mare who was known as Nurse Redheart calling for them. When they got to her she gave them a bright smile and said, "Follow me and I'll bring you to Doctor Crescent".

She brought into an elevator and soon they were at the third floor. As they headed for their room they walked through a large hallway with doors that were parallel from each other. A few moments later Nurse Redheart stopped them in front of a door with the name 'Dr. Crescent' engraved on a gold plate on it. The pink maned nurse opened the door for them to enter before she entered herself. Inside was a black maned colt who had a white coat and a stethoscope for a cutie mark. He sat behind a wooden desk and had a warm smile on his face.

"Hello, Twilight Sparkle, Applejack and Pinkie Pie. My name as you may have heard from Nurse Redheart over there", he raised a hoof towards the nurse, " is Dr. Crescent. Now if you may, please explain to me your situation". Twilight explained what she had said to Nurse Redheart to the doctor. He nodded as he listened, interested to hear what she had had to say. After she was done he wrote something into a notepad he had taken out when she started speaking. He cleared his throat before he spoke.

"I see... Did it ever come to mind to actually get professional help with the situation?", he said, his smile not faltering as he spoke.

Twilight was taken aback slightly and said, "Well I thought, since I am the personal student of Celestia herself I thought I could do it myself", she crossed her arms and held a proud grin.

"Okay then, you don't mind if I put Pinkie Pie here through a couple tests?"

They all turned to Pinkie. She nodded though she was still not sure.

"Okay then, Nurse Readheart"

"Yes doctor?"

"Please bring Ms. Pie into the examination room. I'll be with you in a minute".

She nodded and asked Pinkie to follow her kindly. When they left the room, there was an awkward silence before the doctor spoke up.

"I do not mean to be rude but", he takes a pause before speaking again, "it is quite dangerous to not ask for professional help? It could actually be worse than you actually thought it could be". He spoke in a stern but still kind voice.

Twilight's ears fell down in shame at the possibility that she could have put her friend in danger, "Yes I know. I'm sorry".

Dr. Crescent nods before speaking again. "Well, I should be leaving now".

It had been twenty minutes before the three of them returned to the room. Nurse Redheart waited by the door like before, Pinkie sat down next to her friends and the doctor took his seat behind the desk.

He brought up a thin bundle of papers and hit them against the table to keep them in order. He cleared his throat and spoke, "Well, we have gotten back the results and all I can say is", he stopped and a grin tugged at the corners of his mouth. "Pinkie Pie here does not in fact, have diabetes".

The three ponies brought their heads up swiftly. Pinkie then said "Wut?". It was not a question but more of a statement.

"Yes in fact you're quite healthy for somepony who consumes sweets on a daily basi-", that was all that was said before the sound of glass shattering was heard. They turned to see that Pinkie had vanished and that the thing that had broke was the window.

"Umm... This room is on the third floor. Should we be worried?'', Dr. Crescent asked.

"Nah, it's just good ol Pinkie being Pinkie, she'll be fine", Applejack replied.

"Okay then... You do realize you both are gonna have to pay for this right?''
