Those That Were Not are Now

Chapter 4

When me and pinkie got back to Sugar Cube Corner I crashed into the door out of exhaustion and started having a coughing fit.

"Hey Wordy are you ok?! Why are you coughing so much?" Pinkie rushed to my side and I could see that her face was full of worry.

"Gah...*cough* I need to lay off all the running and dancing is all."

"That was barely anything!" She said obviously confused. "How could you be so exhausted already?"

"I'm fine lets just go inside so I can sit down OK?"

"If you get sick I will  take care of you ok?" she said while helping me stand up again.

"Thanks a bunch Pinks." I said in a slowly fading voice, I could feel myself slipping into unconsciousness.

"No need to thank, that's what best friends are for, now let's get you inside so you can sit down." She said quietly while gently picking my up by using her neck to roll me onto her back.

--- a minute or two later

Pinkie carried me in through the back door as to not gather any unnecessary attention. The party had stared already when Pinkie carried me in, Flare and Fluttershy were already there and RSX and Rainbow Dash arrived shortly after we did. Pinkie had taken me upstairs to her room and set me down on her bed, because in the short time we had since we arrived at the party I had passed out on her back.

--- one hour later

When I woke up I found that Pinkie had fallen asleep and used my stomach as a pillow. I started to shake her gently to get her to wake up.

"ughhh... Wha?" Pinkie was stirring slightly in her sleep.

"blahhh... *snort*." She rolled over as I shook her more.

After copious amounts of nudging she woke up, gee was she a heavy sleeper. "hubba wha?!"

"Oh Wordy... When did you get here?" Pinkie was obviously confused.

"I don't know but I think you brought me up here." I answered calmly. "I can still hear the party going on downstairs. I wonder why no one seems to have bothered to come get us." No one came up here to see if we were ok or wake us up. "Hey Pinks wanna go join the fun downstairs?"

"Sure." She said still trying to wake herself up.

I asked Pinks if she had a brush I could borrow for my mane but apparently she never had one because her mane was naturally curly and puffy. I ended up going downstairs with a mane that looked almost like hers but less organized and much shorter.

"Let's find the rest of my friends so you can be introduced properly!" Pinkie said still looking sleepy.

"Sounds like a plan!" I replied while squinting my eyes to look for the rest of her friends.

And with that we went looking for the rest of Pinks's friends.

--- a minute later

After wading through the extremely large crowd of ponies that had gathered for the party we found Twilight, Fluttershy, Flare, and RainbowDash sitting and talking. Me and Pinks approached and RainbowDash looked up at us causing the others to become aware of our appearance.

"Gee I thought you two would never come down here what were you doing up there anyway huh?" RainbowDash said in a rather condescending tone while the others resumed their conversation about jokes or something.

"Well Pinks here brought me upstairs so I could rest some and she fell asleep too." Me and her both sat down at the table.

"Just resting ehh? Sure whatever you say."

"She laid me down while I was unconscious and she slept after delivering all those invitations."

"Believe it or not but doing that singing telegram is really tiring." Pinks supported my claim.

"Ok Ok... What happened to your mane Wordy?" RainbowDash had a grin on her face suggesting that her mind was in the gutter.

"His mane got messed up while he was sleeping and I don't have a brush." Pinks answered for me.

"What about the nickname? Why are you calling her Pinks?"

I had no answer for that one. Man it's almost like she thinks we are a couple.

"Oh Rainbow don't be so silly he calls me Pinks cause were best friends." Pinks answered for me again.

"Alright fine I'll stop questioning... But you two would make a cute couple." Ok RainbowDash is obviously teasing us now.

Hearing that our session with RainbowDash was over Twilight spoke up.

"Hi Pinkie. Hello sir it's nice to meet you, my name is Twilight Sparkle you can call me Twilight." Oh yes she was the filly that lived in the giant tree library.

"Hi Twilight, it's nice to meet you too even though we did talk when me and Pinks sang you your invitation."

"Ohhh that was you! Im sorry I just did not recognize you, before you looked tired and now you mane is all messed up." She was sincerely sorry for not recognizing, me I could tell.

"Hi Wordsmith."

"Hey Wordsmith."

Fluttershy and Flare greeted.

"How was your day after you guys delivered our invitation?" Flare asked politely.

"Ehh it was ok just more delivering invitations but it was fun having Pinks around." I said back.

It was the truth me and Pinks had talked a lot while we were not singing or planning and setting up the party. She told me the story of how she got her cutiemark and I told her all about my world and everything I remembered.

"How about yours?" I asked back.

"Well I helped Fluttershy with her animals this morning, we did a lot of talking she asked me about earth and I asked her about Equestria." Seems like we both had really normal days, well as normal as a day can be when you're hanging out with Pinks.
