Chapter 8: Blood and Oblivion

-Rainbow-

I reach my house in cloudsdale and head straight for my bed. I fall into the bed and start crying into the pillow.

‘I can’t believe Jackson could even like a monster like Chrysalis. She is totally evil. She’ll feed off our love’ I assume while I sob into the pillow. After a few hours of crying, I fall asleep with dreams of Jackson being attacked by things unseen in a dark forest. In the Everfree forest.

I wake up with a start and think hard for a little bit, the dream on the forefront of my mind. Jackson wouldn’t be that dumb to try something like that. I am still worried so I fly towards the library, although I take my time. I don’t even know why I’m flying slowly, but I enjoy it quite well. By my estimation, I should arrive at the library about dusk.

-Jackson-

I get to the outskirts of the Everfree forest and ready the magic D’eagle replica. I get into the firing stance, looking down the iron sights. I walk into the dark forest, not following the trails. If I know anything correctly, I should find timber wolves eventually.

I think for a second again. ‘It might be a good idea to have a suppressor. . .’

I carefully add a magically enhanced replica of a double can suppressor to the desert eagle. ‘The suppressor should minimize noise created by the gun to a maximum of twenty decibels, which is as loud as a cat’s purr. Epically quiet’ I muse. As I think, I walk. After another few minutes of sneaking, I hear a growl. It is coming from behind me.

I spin around and see a timber wolf, its eyes glowing bright yellow, like Nazi zombies’ eyes on COD: Black Ops. It is looking at the thing in my hands. It is almost acting like the gun could hurt it, which the gun in my hand could do if I wanted it to.

“Hey boy, what’s wrong? My little, mean gun scarin’ ya?” I taunt. It whines and I realize something else is in these woods. Something that’s much more deadly than me.

“Sorry about this, boy, but could you take me to it?” I ask tenderly. Its ears perk up and it trots off a few steps. It beckons me to follow with its head. I take the hint and start following.

We weave through the trees and eventually we reach a crude hut built in the middle of a small clearing. The wolf stops and whines.

“Don’t worry, I’ll talk to it” I reassure the wolf, not knowing how it understands me, and vice versa.

I holster my DE .50 cal in the holster I created, and I walk towards the hut. I see many corpses of timber wolves surrounding the hut, and a few changelings, even. I can’t help but feel a pang of pity for the wolves, however brutish and hostile the wolves can be.

I reach the door and knock on it. There is a small thunk and somebody said, “What the hell? Who’s there?”

The door opens and some figure in an odd-looking armor set looms into my view. I look for another half second and realize who it is that is talking to me. A seven foot tall somebody.

“Ohmigod, Master Chief, John-117. What are you doing in Equestria?”

“First, what are you doing here? Second, what the hell is this ‘Equestria’? Sounds like a land of horses to me. And third, how do you know who I am? Nevermind, don’t answer that last one.”

“A timber wolf led me here. Don’t ask. Second, yes this is a land of horses, but they prefer to be called ponies. Anyway, do you want to see civilization again? If so, I’ll get you out of this hellhole. Where’s your AI? Isn’t she the best companion who is always by your side?”

“I don’t know. And about my AI, she’s laying on the floor in an AI containment cylinder. She is going into rampancy.” He sounded sad when he told me what was happening to his AI.

“Mhmm, okay. We have to get to Ponyville soon. Who knows what happens here at night.” I say.

“I know what happens at night; those wood wolves attack at night. I hold them off pretty well, but I’ve been running low on ammunition recently. Let’s go to this ‘Ponyville’. I gotta get out of this shithole” he grabs the AI and walks out the door, followed closely by me.

We trek out of the Everfree, led by the timber wolf I had met earlier (“no don’t shoot it!!!”). After a few hours walking, a path swirled out of the dark mist in front of us.

The timber wolf turned to me, and spoke. “There is the path, humans. Safe travels. Oh and if your tall friend attacks any more timber wolves, I will have our whole clan and all other clans attack Ponyville and any pony city that is nearby.” With that warning, the timber wolf turned tail and trotted back into the black mist of the Everfree forest.

We watched the timber wolf be devoured by the dark mist and disappear.

“Okay MC, this is a village in which ponies talk. There are types of ponies that can fly. And some can do magic. Safety on. No exceptions.” I tell Master Chief.

“Yes, sir” he replies, oddly enough.

He is oddly submissive to my commands, or I sounded like a person who is a commander to him. I shrug it off and we enter Ponyville. It’s dark out and nopony sees us. We get to the library quickly. I open the door and enter the library.

Twilight was obviously asleep in her room. I crept up the stairs, opened Twilight’s door and slunk next to Twilight’s bed. An evil smile creeps onto my lips. I reach out and place my hand over her mouth. I then proceed to lift her out of the bed and wrap my other arm around her neck.

She wakes up while I am lifting her out of the bed. She tries to scream, but I whisper into her ear, “Relax, it’s only me, Jackson.” She calms down instantly. I let go of her mouth and chuckle inwardly a bit.

“Dammit, Jackson, you scared me half to death. I was just about to use a spell on you, had you not whispered in my ear.” She says back.

“Anyway, Twilight, I’d like you to meet Master Chief, John-117.”

She looks at him and pales a little. I look at Master Chief and shrug. “Heh must be the armor you’re wearing that scares her.

“Thanks for the support. What’s your name?” he asks.

“My name is Jackson, Jackson Tyler.” I reply

“Well, thanks, Jackson. Now I have to get back to the fight with the damned Covvies. Can you get me back there?” MC asks me.

“I have a method but since I couldn’t use magic until recently, I didn’t consider it. Now that I can use magic, I’ll have to test it on somebody” I tell him.

“Ok, Jackson. I have no choice but to trust you.” He replies.

I turn to Twilight. “Twi, I need you to supply me with some power. I probably can’t do this myself.”

Her horn starts glowing and I reach out to touch MC to read his memories. I did so to find memories the last non-hostile environment he was in. I locked on to the memory of Planet Earth in 2557. I close my eyes reached out with my other hand and felt the fabric of the universe brush my fingertips. I was using Twilight’s energy to supply, enhance, and amplify my energy.

I felt for a familiar feeling on my fingertips, like Earth from my time, and found something that was familiar but strange at the same time. I grasped that feeling and ripped the fabric away. I was feeling a lot of magical strain on my part.

I opened my eyes to see a tear in the space-time fabric of the universe. I saw Earth, yet far more advanced than what I ever saw. Twilight’s horn was glowing very brightly. Her eyes were glowing white too.

“I can’t hold this open forever, MC. Go!” I yell at him.

He just stands there for a second, the visor on his helmet obscuring his expression. He shakes his head slightly and walks towards the wormhole.

“Thank you for the small things you did for me, Jackson. They made a big difference to me.” He says. He shakes himself a bit and walks through the wormhole.

When his feet are finally out of the library and through the wormhole, I slowly decrease the size of the hole until it is about as big around as my head. I let it close with a muffled boom.

I look back to Twilight. She must have passed out from the strain of assisting me. ‘Wow, I was maintaining the wormhole myself for a bit. I must be really awesome.’

Twilight groaned in her unconscious state. I lifted her up with my magic and tucked her into her bed. She slowly wakes up after a while and her hooves go up to her temples. She massages them exhaustedly.

“By Celestia, I have a headache. The last thing I saw before I passed out was you yelling at him to go.” She groaned again. “Oh, Celestia, this is a horrible migraine.”

“I have an idea but I don’t know if it’ll work.” I say. I put my hand to her forehead, my fingers porposely avoiding her horn. I channel some of my remaining energy through my hand into her head. She immediately perks up and smiles greatly. She then giggles wildly. I frown, concerned.

“What, Twilight? What’s so funny?” I ask.

“I go kinda crazy when I get too much magic in me! I gotta get rid of some of it!” she giggles.

I replace my hand on her forehead and recall half of the energy I gave her. She immediately calms down and frowns.

“I was going to enjoy using the extra magic you gave me. And there is only one good way to burn off extra magic.” She whispers to me seductively. I shudder from a small rush of arousal.

“Umm, maybe, but I’m not ready yet. Sorry” I mumble.

“Wow, Jackson, you are a lot like Fluttershy. She’ll definitely love you.” She notes aloud.

“Ooohkaaayyy . . . well now what? Should we check on Chryssi?”

“Oh yeah, speaking of Chrysalis, you didn’t clean up the incisions in your neck, did you? It’s all bloody and crusty. Gross.”

I feel my neck where Chryssi had bit me and felt dried trails of blood leading down to my shirt. I looked at my shirt and saw the blood had soaked my whole shoulder. I sigh.

“Wow. Bloody . . .” I chuckle evilly, saying the last word with a dark inflection to my voice.

“Magic time.” I say lightly.

I raise my hand to my neck again and channel magic into the blood. The blood liquefied and returned to my bloodstream. I then alter the magic to close the incisions, which they did.

The whole process took five seconds. I clapped my hands together. “Okay, that’s done. What’s next?” I say.

“We were going to check on Chrysalis.” She stated.

“Oh yeah, thanks for reminding me. CHRYSSI, ARE YOU ALERT YET!?” I yell.

I bound into the guest room, and see Chrysalis is returning from the mystical land of Obliviosity. “Hey, how ya doin’, Chryssi? Feelin’ better now?”

“Better than any other time in my life so far, ever” she replies happily. “All thanks to the blood you let me have. Although, it was barely half an ounce of blood.”

Twilight glared at her darkly.

“Hey ease up, Twi. It was my idea in the first place. I let Chryssi to do that.” I told her. “Anyway, Chryssi, do you know how long you were oblivious to the world?” I ask Chrysalis.

“What? I was oblivious to my surroundings? Oblivious to the world? One second, I was enjoying the amazing feelings I felt from your blood, and now, I’m lying in this bed.”

“Twilight, I have to test something. Hold on a second.” I inflict a small cut on my wrist with magic. I conjure up a small vial, dribble a few drops of blood into the vial, stopper it and hand it to Twilight. “Divide that sample in half. One half is for your reaction to drinking it, the other half for research as to why my blood does what it does.” I instruct. She cringes when I ask her to drink some of it. I seal up the cut before it bleeds too much.

“Oh, and you have to drink it before you can test it” I tell Twilight.

“Face it, Twilight. You have no choice. This’ll be our secret. Nopony tells anypony anything. Got it, everypony?” Chrysalis says.

I nod and Twilight squeaks out, “Okay”

“Now, divide and drink.” I command.

She summons a second vial and half of the sample goes to the other vial. She stoppers that vial and places it on her desk. The other one, she moves it to her lips and swallows the few drops in the vial.

She instantly stiffens as the blood touches her tongue. As the blood rolls down her throat, she shivers. I realize what’s going to happen if I don’t jump in. I dive and land just in time to get under her falling body. She collapses on top of me.

Yet, she is totally oblivious to landing on me. She doesn’t yell, squeak, scream, or mumble a thing. She just lay on top of me with a 1000-yard-stare.

I magick her off me and lay her on the floor gently. “Ok Chryssi, we now know my blood is like a spell that causes obliviousness. Anypony that drinks my blood instantly goes slack and oblivious to everything around them.”

“Wow, J-man. Just imagine what would happen if they enjoyed your seed like I did?” Rainbow states.

A/N: sorry if the blood-related stuff bothered ya at all. I just wanted to prove a point or something like that.
