The Unexpected Saviour

A/N: This is the explanation/prologue for Rainbow Dash to explain why she acts like she does in The Unexpected Saviour. This is from her point of view.

My name is Rainbow Dash and I am the fastest flier in Equestria. I am also the most hated pony in all of Equestria.  That was before Jackson Tyler arrived.

I’ll start at the beginning. I was one of the few chosen to be in the Mane six. Ponies that I didn’t even know were chosen. Well I know them now, but I didn’t before this, I didn’t have any idea who any of those ponies are until I met them. We became friends quickly. My friends’ names are: Pinkamena Diane Pie, Twilight Sparkle, Rarity, and Applejack. If it wasn’t for me, they might not have gotten their cutie marks. And without Princess Celestia, I might not have met Twilight anyway. For that I am thankful to the princess and myself.

Eventually, the humans found Equestria and they thought it was a perfect set for a TV show. The TV show was called ‘My Little Pony’. I was already the Element of Loyalty so they decided it would be wise to make me said Harmony Element. Pinkie Pie, as Pinkamena preferred to be called, her element is Laughter. Applejack’s element is Honesty. Rarity’s is Generosity. Twilight’s element is the most important, Magic. Yeah like I need magic to be any awesome.

Humans were being sent to Equestria to help save the races of Alicorn, Unicorn, Pegasus, and earth pony from being erased if the show ‘My Little Pony’ was cancelled. The human had to stay for a year and decide if they wanted to stay forever after the first year was up. If they stayed by their own choice, we were saved from the most likely imminent demise of our four races.

You probably know that we element wielders have beaten many foes. Those foes are: Nightmare Moon, Discord, Queen Chrysalis, Nightmare Flare, King Sombra, and a few others.

We are the most popular, yet most hated ponies in Equestria. I am the most hated out of the mane six. I started getting depressed around the 100th human, because no human chose me, ever. I started treating humans a little worse after the 150th or so human didn’t choose me. Actually, I treated them a lot worse. I was the reason some of the humans from numbers 172 to 745 left before even getting to see Ponyville.

The increasing amount of humans that didn’t choose me caused me to get more and more depressed. I was even considering suicide. There were no special stallions to help me out of depression because everypony hated me, and the ponies that didn’t hate me were undesirables, drunks, or gamblers.

I knew a few other ponies had loved humans and I was hopeful for a little while after that a human would come along and sweep me off my hooves. It didn’t happen when I had expected, though. It was about the 634th human that didn’t choose me that I realized no human wanted to love me for me.

Jackson Tyler was the 746th human sent from Earth. I had just gotten over another stint of severe depression when he came along. He chose me! I was skeptical at first, but he helped me realize that not everypony hates me like I had thought. Eventually, he was found out to be the one that some long-dead alicorns had prophesized about. I found out then that he loved me and didn’t want to lose me, mainly because of his past being bad enough sometimes for him to consider committing suicide. I didn’t want to lose him in any way, suicide or other. And our story continues in The Unexpected Saviour.

A/N: sorry this prologue is short. I couldn’t think up any other reasons why Rainbow could be depressed and out of character compared to the TV show. And now you all have better reasons as to why Rainbow acts the way she does.
