The Sentinel of Equestria

A certain amount of time before the Epilogue

"We can't win this conventionally!" shouted Princess Celestia as she looked out of a window with a midnight view of a burning Canterlot, her and Discord were in the royal Throne Room, "This is an event that is now out of our hooves, or paws and claws in your case."

"Oh come on now your Majesty, can't you just cast a spell that kills them all? Or better yet, have your student Twilight and her friends use the Elements of Harmony, shouldn't that be enough to end this?" Said a somewhat concerned Discord, waving his claw out to the remains of Canterlot.

"I can't get into contact with anyone of them Discord, we have no idea where they are or if they're even alive anymore, the last I heard from them was in Ponyville 2 weeks ago. Contact there, Cloudsdale, and every other region of Equestria has been completely cut off, and it's too dangerous to send out messengers, they won't make it out of Canterlot."

"What about a pegasus?"

"Too risky, what if it got bitten? We just don't have anymore options Discord, I simply have no choice but to create a portal into another world, so whoever or whatever comes through can aid us in this time of need."

"Well how can you be sure that anything will actually come through? And if something does what if it's hostile towards us? What if-"

"Enough Discord!" She said, stomping her hoof on the ground so hard it made a small crack. "Now you and I are going to open this damned portal or so help me I will find each of the Elements and use them on you myself! And I will do much worse than turn you back into stone!"

Celestia's threat wasn't idle, she was beyond pissed and Discord knew her well enough to know it, he carefully thought of how he said the next sentence.

"Your highness, please, just listen, think of the possibilities and chances that you are talking by creating a bridge between an unknown alien world, we don't even know if it will close after the extraterrestrial passes through. Please Princess, I'm just concerned about the safety of our world, we have a big enough problem as is." He said, putting his paw around her neck.

Discord flinched expecting the Princess to start wailing on him, but instead she let out a sigh, and tears started to form in her eyes, she hung her head down to the marble floors of the castle, and as calmly as she could, she said.

"I know it might not be the safest way to get help, but, I really don't see any other options, so please Discord, please, please for the sake of Equestria, help me create this portal, and whatever comes through it will be my responsibility, if it's worse than what's out there, then I will take all the blame, and personally step down from the throne and hand you the position as Prince of Equestria."

"If that is your command Princess, then it will be done, so shall we now?"

They both combine their magic, creating a white aura around the purple emerald doorway, they both start to shake along with the entire castle, the glow could be seen from Ponyville.

The trembling and glowing cease, and a few seconds later, the emerald portal sends out a blast that causes all the windows in Canterlot to shatter, and sends the Princess and her companion shooting into the royal walls of the room they were occupying.

Meanwhile on Earth.

My life hasn't gone according to plan.

Looking back I think I can point to where it all went wrong, back in 7th grade when a buddy of mine died. Death is one of the worst things anyone will ever have to deal with. I sort of lost it when it happened, that whole time I thought my life was immune to death, I've never been so wrong.

I turned to the wrong crowd after that, thats when it all really went downhill for me, but on July of 2009, I had lost all hope in everything. My father got diagnosed with brain cancer, that is something that changes a person, especially someone who hasn't been fully taught how to live, but before I considered doing something stupid that killed me, I made a prayer, which is something I don't do often enough.

All I prayed for was something to give me hope again, something that would make me smile again so to speak. Now what I was expecting was motivation from someone who is mature or something of that sort, what I got instead was something that gave me a smile bigger than Pinkie Pie's when she first witnessed Rainbow Dash's Sonic Rainboom. What I got was the most brilliant rainbow I'd ever seen. It was so spectacular, its beauty mixed with the bright colors of its spectrum, it gave me a feeling of joy that I've never felt before, nor have I felt it again after that experience, I've never seen another rainbow such as the one I saw on that day.

I suppose that's why Rainbow Dash is my favorite out her out of all the mane 6, not because of her Sonic Rainboom, or because of her tomboyish personality (and I'm kinda into that). Its because of the symbol of hope she gives me everytime I see her even after my dad died in 2011, in fact, as peculiar as this may sound, I've depended on her so much that I've even developed romantic feelings for her.

It was just a typical December in Colorado, when I discovered the My Little Pony game for IOS, I just had to get it! My iPod was still in IOS 4 so I had to download the update, install the update, and because of my crappy internet, had to restart a few times. After the hassle I finally got it, but something odd happened while it was starting up, there was some kind of white aoura coming from my iPod, way brighter than the screen could ever get, it quickly got brighter and brighter and I found myself hovering over my bed I was playing on, and after a few seconds, something violently thrusts me forward into my screen.

The next thing I barely remembered was waking up face up in what appeared to be the Throne Room in Canterlot.

Wait that's imppossible, there is no physical or supernatural way, I could be here! How could I be in Equestria?! Wait a minute, I think its just another one of those dreams.

My thoughts were interrupted by a very regal direct voice, "Um, hello? Can you understand me?"

I weakly noded my head, my body was so weak I couldn't even walk or keep my eyes open.

"I'll explain everything later but first, guards!" She called over two burly looking pegasi to pick me up and take me who knows where.

"Hnng! This thing's pretty heavy ma'am!" Grunted one of the royal guard.

How can I be heavy? I only way 120 lbs.

They were dragging me out of the room when I mustered up the strength to ask, "Wha- whats going on here?"

"As I said, I'll explain everything later, but for now, welcome to Eque-"

BOOM!

I was barely able to make out what was happening but, I think there was an explosion to my left and I saw what looked like four pony sillouettes armed with, guns? Wait, guns in Equestria? Why are there guns in Equestria?

"You!" Said the Princess.

"I think I'm going to take this as my exit if you don't mind." Said Discord, then a bright flash came over him and he was gone.

"Discord no! Damn you!"

"Its ours now Princess." said one of the colts, they all appeared covered in pure black skin tight outfits.

"What could you possibly want with that?!" Said a surpised Celestia, "This alien can help all of us I know it be true!"

"Yes of course Celestia, look around us, you really helped us out with your last brilliant idea."

"I didn't cause any of this and you know It sister!"

Luna?

"Enough, you wasting your own time trying to fix a problem that can't be solved."

"And how much do you know about that thing's race Luna? This one can understand me and it even talked to me, please, just give me a chance, you've caused enough problems for both sides-"

"Thou are a liar, long live the Lunar Republic!" She said in her royal Canterlot voice, then shot her magic at her sister, knocking her out. She walked towards me and looked at me with confusion and said, "I'm sorry." and struck me dead in the face, knocking me unconscious also.
